And it's something that could possibly happen ,
More then ideal
It's probably all just psychodrama, he's already got what he wants and now he's grandstanding with threats to pull out after the fact just to make it look like he scored a big win for his lads
Could be ideal.
Would be funny if Wagner and Russia ended up fighting each other.
One never knows what is going on in the Kremlin.
Prigozhin and Putin might be still close, Putin might have put him in his place and Shoigu and the Chief of Staff might be facing a trial for sabotaging the war effort, lying to Putin etc in a year or two. Or he might be getting out in front of the Same being done to him.
You just never know, the Kremlin makes Kings Landing seem transparent.
Didn't see any reports here, super duper hypersonic missiles me ar$e
There is a stench of hypocrisy of whoever denounces one evil regime yet defends another as you say. Sadly this isn’t localised to just the far left nut jobs. I’ve seen posts celebrate Israeli diggers knocking down Palestinians homes for their illegal plantations yet denounce Russia for their plantations in Ukraine. Of course evil Russia should be denounced, I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy isn’t limited to the far left.
Prigozhin has a lot of loyal acolytes so Moscow wont take him out themself and risk the wrath of his personal army.
Moscow might expose his position for Ukrainians to target, and let them take the blame. But they would be idiots to try and openly murder a man with an army of his own. Thats how you provoke an insurgency all on your own
The Ukrainans aren't stupid, what do you think they will watch the video and charge into bakhmut thinking the orc's are gone ,
If you look at the Liveua map any day it is typically red with reports of Russian shelling. It's the one constant that there has been the whole war. Every day, across the entire, front reports of shelling. But they would surely be holding some back at this stage too as I don't see what's been accomplished by for example shelling Kherson. It just seems to be spiteful more than any strategic decision.
Considering the vast vast majority of Irish people support Ukraine that’s not an accurate take. The far left doses like daly etc yes but your average left wing person no. If anything the majority of support I see for Russia in Ireland is from the far right, the self professed new breed of “patriots” types which is just an Irish extension of the alt right American patriot types who idolise the likes of tucker Carlson who said he was on Russia’s side. The vast majority of Irish people whether they be right or left support Ukraine, nut jobs on either side isn’t representative of the majority.
I wonder is he basing himself in Bakhmut as much for his own safety at this stage? Not just 'leading his troops" (to their slaughter).
I doubt if it's a long list: "Russians who would live longer in Bakhmut than in Moscow"
No he's neither a politician or a General, but in Putins Russia. He's a survivor and that's something else. Prigozhin will not go quietly into the night. All the rest of Putins "failures" who had window mishaps or drank Putins tea, did not have there own personal private army's backing them up. He'll be around for awhile yet,,,,the next few months will be decisive for all sides, but hopefully, Ukraine will come out on top, and if ( when) that happens then we will see what Proigozhin has morphed into. He's not done, by a long shot.
This is different,
...
He really is a messy b1tch.
Ah, I'd say that its personal now Francie...Prigozhin's Wagner V The Rest. And it's obvious now that Putin has thrown Prigozhin to the wolves. Icarus flew too close to the Sun, and got burned. Prigoshin should have known......
Translated:
“Look at them, you bitches! (…) you sit in expensive clubs (…) your children make YouTube videos (…) you think you have the right to dispose of their [Wagner fighters] lives (…) they came here as volunteers and died so you could gorge yourselves in your offices.”
Just been reading that myself.
Have to say I'm loving the prigozhin drama
Mike Ehrmantraut is looking very rough in those videos.
The latest statement translated, i think its the 2nd part where he announces their withdrawal from bakhmut on may 10 (will they be allowed?)
Much more drama to come
I do actually agree with all this, perhaps I misunderstood the poster, but it is nonetheless true some on the right will be vocal about human right abuses and crimes of aggression in one theater yet defend the same crimes somewhere else. I don't agree with Boyd Barrett on many things, but his speech in the Dail to Ursula regarding Israel was spot on . I don't see how anyone who is fair minded could disagree with it. Yet I noticed the likes of Michael Lowry refused to clap it. I would not be a fan of Donald Trump, but I would not let my dislike of his politics get in the way of acknowledging something he said I found to be reasonable.
Far too many people still refuse to even consider questioning cosgraves motives and those of the ditch
I'm not sure about that other poster but I'm certainly not right-wing. I've voted for left-wing parties my whole life but the stench of hypocrisy off of the far-left is putrid. They have no moral consistency about what constitutes an authoritarian regime. People going round with Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua flags on their social media bios ffs - three odious dictatorial regimes who have thrown the human rights of their citizens under the bus.
Not everyone who supports Ukraine is also a full throated supporter of Israel, Saudi Arabia or whomever the far-left like to throw out as their "Gotcha" arguments. Most people are just disgusted by odious regimes, from whatever background or politics. That's the context in which they are horrified by Russia and disgusted by the far-left missing the wood for the trees in their relish for criticizing Russia's opponents.
I wonder is this phrase just a convenience way to be morally inconsistent about denouncing wars of aggression depending on the actors involved, it certainly seems to be to the play book of some with right wing views. Kind of like those on the left who you identity as being geopolitically illiterate.
An interesting examination of the motives of Paddy Cosgrave.
I wonder if its an attempt to lull Ukraine and their backers into a false sense of security.
Because if not, it's a massive problem for Putin. I just can't see how Russia would allow this to get out. It pulverises any pretences about how the war is going on the frontline for them.
With the stories of sabotage inside Russia and this video, if genuine, the Kremlin must be really struggling to keep on top of this and you have to wonder just how bad things are inside Russia.
I'm trying not to get too excited...
It must be another false flag zv2. Was Putin on the roof there too? Russia has conducted another false flag to make itself look weak again. They might blame this incident on America too to make make themselves feel better about Ukraine being able to attack them with impunity inside Russia.
