Clerical Offcier 2023 open for everywhere except Dublin - which has its own panel from last year
details below
Thanks @sean3318
I applied for the NSSO CO. Does anyone know what they’re like to work for? Had never heard of them before. Thanks 👍
Hi
can anyone explain the transfer of service and increments for those who have prior public service or where you can go for advice? Thanks
As far as I know, but correct me, the Verification of Service form can be completed from each HR section of the Department that you worked in and your length of service will be applied to the relevant increment that you will start at. This will be requested at the screening stage.
Links for on line assessments to be issued on Monday 8th May.
Was that confirmed or just going by the information booklet?
Got a notification just now from public jobs to say we will be getting a link on Monday, open till 3pm Thursday
I've been a TCO now for 3 years, I'm applying for this campaign however I am hoping to be moving to Dublin next year. I didn't want to apply for the dublin panel yet as I can't afford to be travelling up and down just yet.
If I get permanent CO, I understand its usually 2 years before applying for mobility but since I've served 3 (so far) as a TCO am I able to apply for mobility?
Any links for practice tests? Thanks
Two questions.

Yes I also recieved the same notification.
I presume we get a message on our Public Jobs message board, informing us when the questionnaire has gone live on Monday?
@hairyslug thanks!
You can apply for mobility the day you start but won't be able to move for 2 years. Just get your name in the queue, some areas move at a snails pace just to be aware.
What's the chance that they'll hire a recent graduate? :) (obviously if I can do well enough on the OOM) Jobsearching has been a bit of a nightmare...
If you interview well and do good on the assessment too ofc, you will get the job especially if you're in Dublin it might as well be a guarantee.
I didn't go to university and I got in, meeting the competencies matters most but having your degree will definitely help with progression.
In the familiarisation material booklet it says they suggest not to use a phone for the assessment but can you do so anyway? And is there any way they can tell you used a phone and if so would it hurt your chances of being called for an interview?
Very high! I know someone who went for the higher role as a recent graduate and did better than me! :)
Do not use a phone for the assessments, if anything happens that would be a nightmare and you only get one chance. You need a webcam on you anyway to monitor you doing them solo, so you'd need something external to your phone.
Hmm ok, it’s just that when practicing the assessments I’m much quicker when using the phone as you just have to tap the answer with your thumb instead of dragging a cursor on a laptop. Do you definitely need a webcam? Didn’t see it mentioned and is a Chromebook ok?

I can't see that in the booklet. I've recently taken two CS tests and that has not been the case.

@Spilly123 This is very good advice. I've taken two CS tests lately and it's way easier on a laptop/desktop.
@64869923 Thanks for that!
Seeing as you’ve done the tests before, are they more difficult, less difficult or the same as the practice ones and how many should I be getting right in each part to get say a top 100 OOM in Offaly?

The two I've done were nothing like the practice tests.
One section asked approximately 20 questions questions about various skills such as customer service, typing speeds, excel and word. The responses were what level of experience or skill you have.
The other questions were a series of workplace scenarios with a response to the each situation. The answer was determining whether the response was good, bad, ok, not great (not phrased that way). I don't know if the test for this campaign will be like this, I do know that tests previously were like the practice selection but I don't know when they made the switch to the type I took.

I wouldn't have a breeze.
@64869923 I think you’re confusing the EO assessment with the CO.
No, I'm not.
Hi.
Would people mind posting up here tomorrow when the assessment goes live?
I know we will get an email alerting us also.
Agreed.
The practice isn't remotely related to the actual questions it honestly took me off guard with how different it was.
@pygmaliondreams Really? So how should I go about preparing for the assessment then? Is doing these practice tests a waste? https://www.quickstart360.co.uk/runtest.aspx
For those that have taken a CO test before, did you find the familiarisation material helpful in any way.
Just came thru now
