Yeah it's based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the most notable of a number of GT players who have graduated into professional racing. He's won some races and been on the podium at Le Mans having only got the opportunity to race a real car thanks to winning a Gran Turismo competition.
It's a perfectly decent concept for a movie, typical sporting underdog fodder, but the trailer had some poor acting and writing IMO which doesn't bode well.
Yeah, the concept is interesting but writing and acting are poor. This seems like it should go straight to Netflix, not the cinema.

I see Mega Baseball 4 is coming out soon, looks fun. Has anyone played 1-3 and recommend? I know nothing about baseball and sometimes these cartoony sports games can be style over substance or maybe it's a bit of a gem like everybody's golf?
Also, Punch Club 2 gameplay overview, looks like a lot of fun and none of the stat reduction of the first game.

Saw someone mention that Phil usually has something on his shelf in the background as a hint to some future news. He seems to have the competitor to the Steamdeck on his shelf (Asus somethingorother), a likely sign MS are going to be backing it to try get handheld Xbox games running natively on it.

It will play Game Pass games locally. Comes out May 11th, will be curious to see the battery life.
There were a few interesting tidbits in that, not least when he says "at some point I will have enough knocks against me that it's somebody else here". Obviously feeling the pressure.
Parris listed off some games (Avowed, Perfect Dark, Everwild, Fable, State of Decay 3, Contraband, Hellblade 2) that we haven't heard anything on in a while, and Phil said we'll see some of them at the June showcase. Hopefully Avowed is one of them - he mentioned seeing advanced builds of it.
Sheesh, Perfect Dark. That game was dated on release and felt like a relic from when the X-Files was still relevant. It had the fortune to release on a game starved N64 but the 360 game was pants. Really think that IP should be buried.
I remember the 360 version as being the tightest game for gamerscore points for just playing the single player game. I never looked up a guide or anything and I think I just picked up 5 GS points for just playing the game.
For me, the weird thing about resurrecting that IP is that nobody below a certain age is going to know/care about Joanna Dark. They might as well have just come up with a new original character.
Rumour is that Avowed is the main star of the show, apparently the announcement of the show had elements that looked like something out of the Avowed trailer, and that each of the previous MS announcements of their shows had elements that were later shown in the show.
