I may not be straight, but I've heard many of my straight friends over the years - in banter terms - saying far worse than that when talking about women in private settings.

Yet Bill Clinton, a darling of the liberal left, has been accused of this many, many times more and remains fawned upon by the same people condemning Trump on the basis of these allegations.

You're absolutely right there, you can absolutely say lewd things like "Yeah, I'd rape her" and that's not necessarily criminal per se and of itself (might be sexual harassment though)
But go on and wind up in a court and you will find out that coming back to haunt you in front of the jury really might hurt your case -- and in a Sentencing Hearing, for a Rape, and you will quickly find out that's an Enhancement.

If you want to demonstrate what you're claiming of this person, Chris McGreal, you should cross examine his prose and see if he indeed "fawns" clinton and scorns Trump re: sexual assault.
Thank you for clarifying you meant out in the world; I can't say I recall reading people particularly idolizing either of them in frame of sexually assaulting a woman. From what I see on his page, there might be a there there, but it depends on his opinion/analysis pieces, he is writing about the case but more in straight news at the minute.
Donald Trump has recently released his policies in terms of higher education.
And what he is saying makes perfect sense, whether or not the allegations against him are substantiated (Ron DeSantis could borrow these kinds of policies).
Can you say what they are?
Trump talks about fighting against the anti-Americanism that has infected higher education, for example. He also talks about policies that rebel against neo-Marxism (such as the self-identity question) - the kind of indoctrination that damages young, impressionable minds.
All seems pretty common sense to me. Most ordinary, decent people will agree with this - whether they say so publicly or not.

Upon read of that article it's just a straight news writeup. And I cannot find any interview with this journalist on youtube etc. except from like 2018, for the Opioid Crisis. I'm going to suggest he is not actually an example of the type of "hypocrisy" on this issue, that you were originally claiming.

All I wanted to do was demonstrate the hypocrisy, that Trump was being treated to a different standard to other US Presidents.

You brought up an example to hone in on, I took your argument at face value, read it, googled the journalist on my own, etc. to see if he had done any interviews about Clinton, or Trump, I found neither,
but somehow I am side-stepping by responding to your article objectively and in doing so I'm confirming "the hypocrisy?"
You haven't demonstrated a double standard: Clinton was impeached. Those women took him to court. He settled and handed in his Bar Card. The standard is the exact same, if not even deferential in Trump's favor? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
