Just opened today! Anyone know what percentage of job offers are based outside Dublin just out of curiosity?
Anyone know the timeline for interview results. Going off last comp it was 1 week. However, with bank holiday, I’m guessing it’s week after maybe, unless different this time around?
I was also about 3 months before scale around Chirstmas and had lots of hisscups so check all pay carefully.
Like @furrybones mentioned there were backlogs in NSSO processing down to staffing and resouces focusing on applying the pay increases, hopefully it has sped up since.
Defo contact HR and clarify your promotion date is effective from date of assignment to your dept as an EO, mine was and I moved roles thereafter.
You are also nearing the 3 month probation mark without having begun the EO role, seems unusually long and unfair to hold you back on your development.
Does the process take a year from advertising to interview? Will there be an open competition in 2024? Thanks
I think its very unfair contacting referees especially current employer & one not even knowing what part of the city or county you are been offered this position. The location might not suit & the long wait before been offered the job. Some employers could be very awkward especially those in the private sector. They seem to be very hidden.
If you email LargeVolumeRecruitment5@publicjobs.ie they really fast responding
Anyone know up to what OOM have been called in Laois and Tipperary so far??
I would definitely clarify that with HR. While you can be assigned a position you need to get your actual start date nailed down. I was assigned my position and retained by my department but I didn't officially begin my EO role for about 3 weeks after that. Contact your HR section and ask them for an update.
I am currently a CO and was assigned as an EO in early March and retained by my department. I got an email from my HR at that point saying that they would assign me to an EO position in due course but i haven't heard anything since and am still getting paid as a CO. I spoke to my colleagues about it and they are of the opinion that i should be paid as an EO from the day i was assigned. Is this correct?
For me it was over 3 months. I believe people point were the issue - there was a huge backlog and people point prioritised new recruits over pay increases. There were others in my Dept in the same situation at the time.
For those that were lucky enough to get promoted from CO to EO, how long did it take to receive the pay increment?£
Didn’t ask for a second example but grilled me on the values of the Civil Service
Im in for this too. I have interview next week.. Id imagine the specialist knowledge will relate to previous studies /work experience in tax/audit/compliance.
Heres hoping there hasn't been much applicants and we get an oom after the interview. Im guessing they are eager to get bums on seats in Revenue as they seem to be severely understaffed. Takes ages to get a response from revenue at the moment.
There are probably Revenue threads where people would know about these things. I think Revenue has its own competitions? separate to the general civil service competitions.
I was interviewed by board 3 today
@captaingaol me too! Mines the 18th! You?
Me too! I'm on the 18th! You?
Hi, I have an interview with Revenue for the open competition for EO tax, audit and compliance.
I can prepare examples relating to competencies.
Could anyone tell me where I can find the information to study in relation to tax, audit and compliance for specialist knowledge questions?
Any guidance would be most appreciated!!
Thank you!
😁
Had my interview this week and the board were very nice but some elements of it very were a little off putting. When asked about some of the competencies, the board member picked a part of my employment history and asked me to relay a time from within that specific job. I had some strong examples from other jobs so it threw me off a little when asked for the competency based off of one particular role that they asked about. For people management I was also asked a lot of hypothetical questions for example “if you were to become an EO how would you……”
It was face paced with lots of little questions for each competency as opposed to one question and being able to rhyme off a prepared answer.
know the values, elements of the renewal plan, and was asked a lot on drive and commitment to the job which tied in with self development questions.
Hard to know how it went but hopefully not too long of a wait now till the results.
Thank you for this information.
Much appreciated.
You will have salary matched and your current next increment date will carry over to civil service. Annual leave entitlement should also be matched, dont be afraid to get this written into your contract....it is not regarded as promotion so you do not go to next point on the scale
Hi All,
Done my interview today, very pleasant board. I am already a co, Asked a lot of my work experience outside of civil service. Hopefully I done enough! Best of luck to everyone else who has an interview soon.
this thread I found very helpful For prep.
Have you checked your junk mail, my contact email had gone in there!
@cgordy I would definitely recommend having 2 examples for each of the competencies
At 11 inter and 37 open, about 2 weeks ago
@cgordy I just received an invitation for interview!
Any update on wexford folks?
Has anyone been interviewed by a board 3? Trying to figure out whether they do interviews in 2 or 3 weeks batches.
Thanks
Thanks for letting me know. I passed my CO interview I had earlier this week so at least I have that.
Because you are entitled to get the renumeration benefit of a promotion.
When you go from EO to EO? Why would it go up a point?
