Of course they do. Where does some of this fear come from 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Thanks. Fear coming from 248 pages of queries, comments and stresses 🤣🤣🤣

Most of the comments and questions on here are part of the normal research people do before buying and taking delivery of an expensive new car. And curiosity about the Tesla delivery process. If you removed duplicate questions, there's probably around 50 unique pages. Although a few might interpret it as stressful, for most it's a great place to share the excitement of a shiny new toy.

Yes they do put on number plates. But because they do so many so quickly, lets just say their alignment isn't always perfect..😊

Was at a recent Tesla meet up and noticed quite a few brand new cars weren't straight. My rear one was slightly out but I could adjust myself as holder was only held on by one screw. I have since removed both holders because rear one rattled when boot closing.

I'm defo one of those that finds this useful and love the forum but want to fully cover bases given what's been asked in the past and Tesla being somewhat of an unknown quantity to me.

Thanks to all for the advice.

Try not to worry. Threads always contain the bad stuff.

If you look at the Ioniq 5 thread and their paint peeling, welds splitting you’d never buy one either.

Most go smoothly for all brands but the net will always get the bad stuff.

I took a look on the ionic thread and that is a complete and utter shitshow. Pages worth of issues. Delighted I didn’t decide on the ionic 5 last year now.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,603 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

I still like the i5. And part of me wants to have one at some stage. But there’s slot of short comings V the Tesla. Most notably lack of performance, efficiency (when required). It’s a pity.

We have an Ioniq 5 and a Model 3. Both roughly same age and same mileage. Love the two cars but the Ioniq has spent more time at dealership for few jobs. The model 3 hasn’t been perfect but any minor fixes have been done at the convenience of home by Ranger.

Mid March order for new stock and have only placed 1 order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭max4ever

It is really frustrating with changes to delivery dates as I order in Jan .. it changed so far for 4-5 times

but lesson learned, never cancel your 2nd order unless you have cards in hands!

Delivery Day last Friday, thanks for the tips on the software, nothing yet am still on 2023.6.9 I have switched to advanced so will see. Guys were great at pickup but had a few issues with scuffing on the front bumper and dodgy ppf

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭Heinz57

Car looks fantastic - love the colour (I'm waiting for a M3 in same). Enjoy!

This is probably a dumb question ... but you said there was "some dodgy ppf". Is this something you can order pre-delivery (or does it come with the car - I thought it was something folk decided to do after purchase?).

There's PPF on both rear doors, in front of the wheel arches. Some people have had issues with it. Bubbles under it or not applied correctly. Zoom in on the picture, not too easy to see it in the wet.

I’m open to correction but I don’t believe the M3 comes with PPF.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭Heinz57

I didn't think so (or expect so) - just when I read that there was hassle with ppf at collection, I thought "is this included"???

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,603 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

PPF on the side rear doors of the MY. You won’t have to worry on the M3 as there’s none.

Went from "Apr - June 2023" to "12 - 27 June 2023" today. Hard not to get excited while knowing that I could be still here in this position in September or October.

What are people doing with the connectivity subscription? I'm coming from using Android Auto all day everyday so I'm unsure.

Mine went to June 13 - June 28 today also (M3RWD)

Same - I've started to use Spotify now for my podcasts to get my stuyf on there and get used to it

It depends on how you value the additional features. You will get 30 days free so that will allow you make a more informed choice. Personally for me the maps visual features, browser etc is worth 9.99 per month..

Your Spotify account will only work in the car if you have the Spotify premium account. I only use the free account for music on my phone while out walking etc.

The Tesla Spotify account is excellent though. No ads, skip and scroll through tracks, podcasts etc. The sound really is fantastic in the car.

About to pull the trigger on an inventory car. How long typically do you wait for one of these? Trying to sort out selling my own car but don't want to be weeks without transport

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 122 ✭✭BK1975

Hi there, thanks the colour combo with the black wheels is epic but always personal choice. No PPF on the side rears are done I think at factory. So nothing to do with collection day. I have raised a service request. Also the scuffing I had on front bumper I noticed today when the sun came out the area has swirl marks so that will also be another service request. They buffed it out at the delivery Center but away from my eyes. So they must have used dirty cloths

This was the scuffing at collection

Does it say ready for collection or coming soon?

That means they are part of the current shipment. It’s not at the sandyford garage so could be May/June.

    Thanks. Will have to see

White on white RWD Y F.sale car for collection for Friday. Unfortunately don’t have anyone interested in it. And I’m already sorted from march delivery.

Will be pulling a full reverse Kelly on Tuesday and telling them to keep it. They win again 🙈
