wtf is going on? Bizzarre
Eh nope.
Something is proposed, something is seconded. The Chair asks does anybody object. Nobody objects, the motion is deemed supported and the minutes record that.
Absolute rubbish. As another poster said, we have reached the level that it must be true because he is not suing.
There is no point in suing the Ditch, you won't even get your costs back.
We're all better off for a light being shone here and knowing about Troy's property empire, Collins' dodgy planning manoeuvres, that the ABP Chairman "retired early" and that the ABP Deputy Chairman is facing criminal charges. Before the Ditch these people felt so untouchable they didn't even try hard to hide their privilege (the ABP Chairman overruled his own planning experts in order to allow his brother's garage conversion in Sandymount, LOL!)
If there's worse going on in other quarters of the Dail or elsewhere then hopefully that will be uncovered too. It will deter future "lesser best practices" and help Irish people shake off their absolute insistance that all public servants must be unequivocally trusted.
Sure if it's being bankrolled by Paddy Cosgrave, they'd have a few bob, wouldn't they?
Genuine issues That FF are incapable of addressing because the primary goal of many of their TDs has been enriching themselves.
It's important there is always accountability, ethics and standards are maintained and people enter politics for the right reasons.
Looks like the ditch held back some information from the FOI. that shows the sale was agreed in January 2007 not in 2008.
They let Collins dig himself into a hole he shouldn't be able to climb out of.
But it's Ireland and FF so ....blame the Russians?
Nah looks like The Ditch did a sloppy job and didnt realise the LEA of a council cant decide to sell land.
Im not an FF fan at all but I can see how Collins can say he did nothing wrong legally.
I think you need to read up on limited liability companies and charities.
And the real scandal here is that it was legal. I don’t see why people are sticking their heads in the sand about that.
Mr Cosgrave has done very well in business.
Most likely he has good professional financial and legal advice on tap.
Very unlikely he would leave himself exposed.
Is Cosgrave actually ok? His tweets for the past few days are becoming ever more bizarre.
He appears to be quite a volatile person.
I wonder what do his Portuguese hosts think of his campaigning ?
No, not for a long time now.
A malignant paranoid obsessive narcissist. Somebody should let him know that he is about as important to Irish society as the the Deputy Minister for Trade of Ecuador.
If you're thinking 'who?' you're on the right track.
That was a very empty Dail, Collins addressed and Meehole tearing into The Ditch instead of answering Holly Cairns question, a bunch of swines
Dont think so no.
Its like he thinks he's a mix between Donald Trump/Elon Musk and Superman destroying Lex Luther.
Cairns should have laughed at Martin when he was ranting away and told him to cop onto himself. The folks in government are losing it first it was blaming SF on everything and now its the Russians. Maybe if they just cleaned up their house and stop pulling strokes they wouldn't have to answer or defend difficult questions in the Dáil which is what is really stopping them from fixing the crisis in Housing and Healthcare. They are becoming a laughing stock at this stage now with this carry on.
Martin did the exact same last year when Cairns asked him about the Mother and Baby home commission report whitewash and leak. He was extremely dishonest in not answering direct questions. They promised an investigation into the leak too but it was all lies.
LOL cosgrave is now claiming off the back of all this he has to travel with 3 ex army rangers as personal body guards, the man is beyond delusional
You'd want serious cash to be around him all day...
Thats what I was alluding to above.
Why? Do you think a man in his position doesn't need security?
How difficult is it to understand 'the members were in favour of the proposal'. If a member said nothing then they effectively abstained and couldn't be deemed to have been in favour of the proposal.
I'm aware you're spreading false information about what the minutes state occurred at the meeting. The members were in favour of the proposal to dispose of the land in Patrickswell - you don't need to make it more complex than it is.
Illegal or not its abdolutely unethical and questionable.
Typical Fianna Fail. Crooks.
What position is that? A fairly successful event planner who funds a sensationalist blog that focuses on enacting his own petty revenge fantasy? Ahh yes I see why he needs security... Those FGers are well known for how physically aggressive they can be
Once he's doing some proper investigative journalism thats all that matters.
They are rotten to the core. Michael Martin now attacking the Ditch saying they are a political organisation lol.
I've watched a few council motions online and normally the speaker goes something like, motion to xyz proposed by Councillor A, seconded by Councillor B, nobody objects and the motion is carried. The minutes say something like committee members in favour, unless there's an objection which leads to a debate and a vote which is recorded.
I wouldn't read too much into minutes saying a group were in favour without mentioning a vote or specific names.
That's a good practical explanation of how this type of meeting is conducted.
People might be familiar with the term "on the nod" which is sometimes used to describe the process.
Nah. That was you earlier. You claimed the Bruff Area committee voted to sell the land. It didnt.
