Dark Side of the Moon. 50 years ago I bought that. 50 bloody years.
Box set is being released with various CDs Viny etc etc. Amazon are quoting 250 pounds Stirling. God knows what the delivery will be on top.
Times must be hard for the band.
I already have numerous versions of the album but would like the blu ray disc with the newly mixed atmos mix by James Guthrie. Just a pity they did not release this as a standalone disc like the recent Animals release.
Polly Samson getting stuck into Roger on Twitter, a lot of nasty stuff. Interesting days ahead.
Yup looks like Yoko, sorry, meant to type Polly, has told her husband to support her or else.
It's all rather sad and pathetic.
What's the backdrop to Polly's tweet? Was it out of the blue?
I like the little jab about "lip syncing" lol
I've no idea what brought this latest spat on.
I saw PF the first time live 1973 (or 1974) when the performed TDSOTM at Wembley in London. A Year later when the performed WYWH live, And 1980 PF should go on a "world tour" with The Wall. The world tour was 7 concerts in London, 7 concerts in NYC and 7 concerts i LA. And I saw the first concert (the first evening) at Earls Court in London.
Beside of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin - Pink Floyd are on my TOP 5 list!
Looking forward to this
How and when is that film out?
Cinemas (UK only) May 15th. I guess streaming June/July
hopefully its an officially sanctioned release.
though i cant see why there would be anything new or unknown in it, other than it being a more concise synopsis.
For those who still read books id highly recommend Syd Barrett: A Very Irregular Head by Rob Chapman
Well Dave, Roger, and Nick are in it, so I'm guessing it is.
I too am interested to see what new they can come up with; there's been Syd docs before and it's usually things like Dave telling the story of Syd showing up at the studio, the four notes of Shine On, etc. Hopefully it's not just a repeat of all that.
Hopefully they won't be using the word "mad" in it, Roger had habit of calling Syd "mad". "Mental illness" is a bit more sympathetic.
"When Syd went crazy".
Yeah they've kinda done the documentary. But anyway can't say no to more Floyd!
Steven Wilson has remastered Richard's Wet Dream album and will be released in various formats, I am very interested in the Blu ray which will include, Atmos & 5.1 mixes and a high res stereo mix which will be released on 29th September. It is not an not an exclusive to the SDE shop and should be available in most music stores. This is a really good album.
Richard Wright / Wet Dream - blu-ray audio edition – theSDEshop.com
excellent on all every level !!!!!!
love steve wilson, love PT, love ricks stuff
The 50th anniversary of DSOTM is being released in separate formats rather than buying the expensive boxset. The blu ray with the Atmos mix as well as other mixes is available for pre order and will be released on October 13th.
PINK FLOYD - DARK SIDE OF THE MOON[50TH ANNIVERSARY REMASTER BREAKOUTS - BR - Tower Records Dublin Ireland
Announced today, David Gilmour releases his new album, Luck and Strange on September 06th on multiple formats and is expected to tour in support of the new album.
No sign of this on streaming.
The new Syd Documentary is on sky arts, Saturday at 9pm.
Polly's lyrics bore the tits off me in general.
Hopefully there's a few instrumentals on this
Gilmours solo albums bore the tits off me in general.
Fair point.
I still make the odd listen to his eponymous first album. Everything in the 80s was coke fueled rubbish. On an island had moments of greatness but blandness overall.
Gilmour’s single “The Pipers Call” is now available on Spotify.
David has just announced the first dates for the upcoming tour. He plays the Royal Albert Hall on Oct 9, 10, 11 , 12, 14 and 15 stating these are the only UK dates of the tour. Pre order the album from his website for pre sale access, no purchase necessary.
@ Rednik, I’m hoping to attend 2 consecutive shows.
Apparently he won't be playing any music from Roger era Floyd.
Oh great! Loads of Momentary Lapse of Reason ans Division Bell!
😒
“Apparently he won't be playing any music from Roger era Floyd.”
He absolutely will, but these songs will be integrated into a set of his solo material and the “Gilmour Floyd” era.
