Who will replace him I wonder. Hopefully someone pro Ukrainian.
Apparently not long after it was reported putin was rushed to the Kremlin
it's been known they've used CS gas (on both sides) a while now.... you have alluded to other gasses being used by the Ukrainians at least 3 times now, have you an example of this (even if it's not fully verified, I'm actually interested)?
@timmyntc
However Bakhmut absolutely is strategic - a major rail junction, the intersection of 2 motorways and a must-have for either side if they look to push further into the others' territory (territory as of right now not pre war obviously).
I agree that Bakhmut is strategically important, but probably a good bit more so eight months ago when Russia started to really assault the town. They nearly could have built their own road around the town in the time they've taken. But because Russia has taken that long, Ukraine will have had a lot of time to make contingency plans and therefore minimise the strategic impact of losing Bakhmut. It seems to me that if you're going to make advances, it's best if they're as quick as possible to set your enemy on the back foot and really be scrambling to deal with the loss of that territory. That's really not something we can say for the Bakhmut situation, and since the opening month of the war or so, Russia really haven't shown a capability to make rapid advances anywhere. It's all been slow and halting.
You almost sound gleeful.
Worth race reading
98 % of vehicles, armor and tanks, IFVs promised are already in Ukraine preparing for the Big counter offensive
230 tanks
1500 armoured vehicles and enough ammunition and supplies to support 9 new divisions ....
Despite various claims about the Ukrainians demanding Western Jets they don't make the top 5 list of what ukraine of what ukraine is actually looking for ,
90% ? controlled by Russia,it's costing both sides massively, but if they take it completely other areas are then open to a Russian assault ,
This is worth watching,
Hopefully he's done ,
A few weeks back there was cheers from RU supporters about taking "New York Street Pizza" in Bakhmut, as if taking a (now destroyed) pizza store with an American theme is some kind of blow to the Americans themselves lol.
The Russians claim to be prioritising depleting the Ukrainian armed forces rather than taking territory - but this sounds more like excuses compared to the reality.
I'm here every single day , morning, noon and night with a minor exception three or four days earlier in the year,
Make a sly comment or dig then run away ,
I leave that nonsense to others
Turkish President Erdogan Hospitalized After Suffering Heart Attack (bnn.network)
“I'm still here and no I don't run away”
oh, you’ve run away plenty. You couldn’t back up your comment. Everybody can see that.
That’s fine, not everybody cares about a reputation.
On a lighter note, if there could be such a thing in this dreadful war, the frontline of Bakhmut is being reported in such minute detail that I'm half expecting a bulletin like, "Heavy fighting across pool table in Gerry's Irish Bar".
Anyway, to be totally serious again, the attempt to take Bakhmut has lasted 8 months, or at least the better part of a year. Russia can try to spin it as a win to take it, but capitals have fallen in far less time. Unless this is the lynchpin which predicates a complete collapse of the Ukrainian front lines in the Donbas, I don't think the expenditure of resources is worth the prize. Unless Zelensky lost his mind and all perspective over the proclaimed symbolism of the town, there has to be strategic merit in clinging onto the town as they have, even as their grip has slipped. This is the same army who beat tactical retreats from Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk when they arrived at the conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort, and those are both larger settlements in terms of population, if not area. It shows that Ukrainian doctrine isn't to mindlessly fight losing battles just for the craic. There is obviously a plan around what they're doing in Bakhmut.
Only one more stronghold left for Ukraine in Bakhmut - and main supply route is now to west through Khromovo, as main route south inside bakhmut has been cut.
You'd think Murdoch would have just learned an expensive lesson about not using his publications to effect his pro Trump manipulations.
You then posted about cs gas but then about faceed to say but I think it was the Russians,
Hate to tell you the Ukrainians have been using gas grandes on Russian forces, and vice versa, but this will be denied despite the videos of Ukrainans doing it .
I'm still here and no I don't run away
But at the same time taking a fair few losses themselves but the Russians keep pushing forward ,
The problem with the claims of booby trapped buildings we've seen one explosion where it was claimed it was a boobytrap and one previously,
Have the boobytrapped all the buildings remaining of a few or just the ones that possibly contain supplies they can't get out
Done on purpose, they are just luring the russians in now, setting boobybtraps, mines and blowing up buildings with russians inside so Russia takes heavy losses before the main offensive.
Nothing more to gain in Bakhmut for Ukraine now, they have other priorities waiting, only thing stopping them is the weather
And I stand by what I said 100% lack of training ,a day or two is nothing.
And .......
You can clearly identify a missle just before it strikes ,and not a jdam bomb with a glide kit attached.
Are we near another operational pause I wonder.
The Russian winter offensive never got off the ground. More like it went into the ground and has been a failure, although I'm sure they will paint Bakhmut as a win of sorts.
Slight gains in mostly grey zones aside on the other fronts no significant towns haven been taken anywhere else. They've recently switched tactics in Vuhledar which could lead to eventual gains over more rubble.
“An individual could be suitably trained on how to use the Switchblade drone in about two days or so.”
Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby
Quite a contrast with the manure you concocted out of thin air to shore up a previous baseless assertion:
12 trained for a few weeks,
It takes alot Longer to learn and qualify on weapons systems to use them effectively,
Speaking of being unable to help yourself - The video is official.
In the absence of any concrete links to support the claim, it looks like it. Easy to lose track of considering there have been a lot of chaff-like, unrelated posts since then. It's a pity, it would have been an interesting topic to explore if there had been any validity to it.
Something Russian is burning in Cyprus via several Molotov cocktails ...
Not much of Bakhmut left under Ukrainian control.
The source is:
"trust me bro..." - Gatling.
There was a video of russians/DPR dropping gas grenades, then somebody reposted the same video claiming it was Ukrainians.
Debunked as missles look close enough and you will see a missle from the top right,it's not a jdam bomb,no wings or fins attached which would be clearly visible in images
