Just opened today! Anyone know what percentage of job offers are based outside Dublin just out of curiosity?
Hi I have an OOM of 1457 for the dublin open stream and got an EOI for an interview on the 4th of April but haven’t heard anything since.
Anyone who has had an interview already were you asked for a second example of any of the competencies? My brother who's also a civil servant had told me they'd often ask you for one that's not on your form as they expect this one to be rehearsed but I don't think we even had to put the competencies on the form this year?
Ah ok wow that's a long time. Sorry I checked I'm actually 1522, I think I was getting confused with my AO OOM :) I guess we just wait then. Will you check back in if you hear.
Seems like there's some sort of hold up from others experiences but I might give them a call. Thanks.
I wasn't directly but they did ask for examples from previous jobs I had, right back from since I left school.
I found my interview very hard, I found I was **** compared to my 2020 one. Here's hoping the results show I've done a bit better. I only missed out on 2 competencies last time. Feel like I did **** on all of them this time. Head was just not in it. Here's to 2024.
Ah ok thanks for clarifying as I was confused. I will of course if I hear anything. Not sure If I should email them?
Hi I got my EOI for the Interdepartmental dublin last Monday OOM 741 any ideas for the wait for Interdepartmental interviews after receiving EOI?
Hi all,
I currently work in the Public Sector as Exectuive Officer (almost 5 years).
Will I be placed on the same payscale when I take up my new position as Executive Officer in the Civil Service?
Many thanks
I'd say your brother is thinking of Internal Competition Interviews where forms have to be filled out & you're asked questions around the competency examples you've listed.
Saying that, they can ask for more than 1 example in the Open & Interdepartmental interviews so it's wise to have back up examples for each one just in case.
No you should receive an increment as in go to the next scale point above what you are currently on now
My increment carried over from the County Council but I'm not sure how often this is the case.
I did actually email the large volume recruitment email and they just said "Invitations to interview will be sent out in the coming weeks and interviews will be held throughout May".
When you go from EO to EO? Why would it go up a point?
Because you are entitled to get the renumeration benefit of a promotion.
Thanks for letting me know. I passed my CO interview I had earlier this week so at least I have that.
Has anyone been interviewed by a board 3? Trying to figure out whether they do interviews in 2 or 3 weeks batches.
Thanks
Any update on wexford folks?
@cgordy I just received an invitation for interview!
At 11 inter and 37 open, about 2 weeks ago
@cgordy I would definitely recommend having 2 examples for each of the competencies
Have you checked your junk mail, my contact email had gone in there!
Hi All,
Done my interview today, very pleasant board. I am already a co, Asked a lot of my work experience outside of civil service. Hopefully I done enough! Best of luck to everyone else who has an interview soon.
this thread I found very helpful For prep.
You will have salary matched and your current next increment date will carry over to civil service. Annual leave entitlement should also be matched, dont be afraid to get this written into your contract....it is not regarded as promotion so you do not go to next point on the scale
Thank you for this information.
Much appreciated.
Had my interview this week and the board were very nice but some elements of it very were a little off putting. When asked about some of the competencies, the board member picked a part of my employment history and asked me to relay a time from within that specific job. I had some strong examples from other jobs so it threw me off a little when asked for the competency based off of one particular role that they asked about. For people management I was also asked a lot of hypothetical questions for example “if you were to become an EO how would you……”
It was face paced with lots of little questions for each competency as opposed to one question and being able to rhyme off a prepared answer.
know the values, elements of the renewal plan, and was asked a lot on drive and commitment to the job which tied in with self development questions.
Hard to know how it went but hopefully not too long of a wait now till the results.
Hi, I have an interview with Revenue for the open competition for EO tax, audit and compliance.
I can prepare examples relating to competencies.
Could anyone tell me where I can find the information to study in relation to tax, audit and compliance for specialist knowledge questions?
Any guidance would be most appreciated!!
Thank you!
😁
Me too! I'm on the 18th! You?
