They don't need or want a nuclear powered carrier.
They just need the Russians to leave
You're arguing with someone who wants a coup to occur in the states and believes it's a conspiracy if it doesn't happen, you're not going to get something more coherent back, it's all going to be about how bad the west is, that russian is a victim or at least only as bad and thus what they're doing is justified.
Oh, and all the russian failures are actually successes, even when they collectively cr*p themselves on the world stage, it's unfair that Ukraine had the audacity to make them do that.
The Ukrainians have captured a large area of marshland that the Russians did not attempt to hold in the first place - because it has little strategic value.
They basically got a few lads in boats who went over and stuck a flag up. They cannot get heavy vehicles through that way and will get torn to pieces by artillery if they try to advance toward Russian defences.
The are already being shelled
The Ukrainian leadership is not remotely the same as Russia's. Ukraine is democratic, Russia is totalitarian. Ukraine has political opposition, Russia has none. Ukraine isn't run by a dictator trying to rebuild an empire, Russia is. Ukraine isn't invading a country, Russia is. Ukraine isn't any threat to it's neighbours, Russia is. These are polar opposite nations, yet you lazily class them as "the same" because a) your posts demonstrate you have similar views to Putin on the West and b) engage in history reductionism and black/white thinking.
Russian propaganda 101 is literally first paragraph, "We're not perfect, but everyone else is just as bad as us"
That's how they frame and validate all their actions. They invade a country and slaughter civilians? They point out that in history other countries have done this. The equivalent of murdering someone and then saying "so what, other murders have happened".
Their followers all do the same. You are doing the same.
I'd love to be wrong but I don't think Ukraine will make any serious moves from Kherson. They're likely just threatening so Russia have to keep more then a skeleton crew there and a few artillery units.
Not to slip trough sabotage groups and spec ops teams, and for what we know it could be a diversion making Russians move more troops there to split them up on several fronts, like they did in their first offensive
Offcourse you dont,i guess RT,Sputnik and south front are your best bets, right
Welcome to truth hurts
Touché
How did the Ukrainans manage to set up a bridgehead 20 km there you think?
The largest fortifications are further east and south near Crimea
You had no problem regurgitating stuff from Russia Today.
So which is it?
As per the Times report, during the night of October 19, around 600 Ukrainian soldiers boarded 30 armed speedboats, which were equipped with large-caliber machine guns, MK-19 grenade launchers, and anti-tank weapons. The soldiers attempted to land on the left bank of the Dnipro River, crossing a stretch of river nearly three miles (4.8 km) wide but were unsuccessful.
The idea was to launch an infantry-only battle, as the Ukrainians were sure that Russia would not respond with artillery, fearing a catastrophe at a nuclear plant. Battle-hardened soldiers from Ukraine’s elite units, including Ukraine’s military intelligence, GUR, and including the Shaman battalion, the Kraken Regiment, and the Ukrainian Foreign Legion were drawn for the operation. They did not expect the resistance that Russia put up at the nuclear plant: the defense was dense and everything was mined, and the Ukrainians were fired at from tanks and artillery.
I said it last year and I will say it again. Landing troops on the opposite side of the river bank without heavy weapons support and supply lines that can be easily spotted and targeted is a terrible idea.
Sorry, are you saying sanctions against Russia aren't working?!
You think Sanctions wouldn't be followed if the US is at war (you do agree if someone knocks out a US aircraft carrier the US is at war?) with a country. There will be no procrastination, there will those with the US and US enemies.
Your faith in the untested Chinese military (basically experienced at killing students in their capital city) and lack of faith in the most experienced military machine in the history of the planet is notable.
War crimes are bad.*
War is bad.
Diplomacy is better.
Russia has a corrupt murderous government.
Ukraine has a corrupt murderous government.
USA has a corrupt murderous government, currently they are the biggest threat to world peace.
I don't support arms being pumped into a conflict zone especially a lob sided conflict.
Happy?
?ok
I can't support any mass murder of civilians. Doesn't matter who it is
Awwww .
No competition really 🤪
Here's a recent example of the Left's poor grasp of history. It's a video from Dublin Trans & Intersex Pride recently. Note the USSR flag with the Trans colours attached. Also note somebody carrying a picture of Lenin. If these people had a grasp of history they would have known the Communist states had an appalling record against LGBQT+ people.
This video attracted some criticism from Trans people living in the ex-Soviet states because of the USSR's record against them.
Satellite images show extensive fortifications built up in the left bank of the dnieper on high ground - the russians obviously realised there was no sense in trying to defend the marshy lowlands when they could cover all that area from up high.
How are their defensive lines weaker here?
Lesson number one, learn how Russia operate
Nope, its perfect for a crossing, since the Russian defence lines are weaker there, and its perfect for sending sabotage and spec ops team across to cause havoc furter east and south before the main offensive.
Because they likely didn't have them. I don't think it was operational before March this year. It was announced in 2019 but it's likely taken till now to get it to work and to manufacture them.
Because Ukraine had more AA then than they do now
And because apparently these FABs are being fitted with crude conversion kits to turn them into glide bombs, extending their range - I suppose these didnt exist in numbers 10 months ago.
Why didn't Russia drop them earlier? Like 10 months ago when they started trying to take Bakhmut?
Yep, 300,000+ deaths (so far) in the Syrian Civil War and not a squeak out of the trendy Western Left because 'dem awful Americans' weren't the prime instigators. Our resident useful fools, Wallace & Daly were even shilling for the regime.
It will mean FAB-500s and 1500s being dropped on the buildings while they are still in them.
Then the only thing stopping the wagner from advancing is a pile of rubble - much harder to defend for Ukraine.
May make it easier for them to reclaim in the counteroffensive, but for the time being its not exactly a good thing having 500kg bombs dropped on you
Didnt know Paul Murphy joined boards.
Yes. I'm sure you were climbing the fence with Moscow Mick. What's that, you didn't give a **** at the time?
that was beside the point of the mercenary argument.... how they were killed was irrelevant ... the point was the US killed 200+ Russian's and Russia couldn't say anything to the US about it
So if and when negotiations happens and neither or only one of the two above points are addressed will anyone who agreed to the peace be "Russian Nazi supporters"?
Nobody wants Putin not too see the inside of a jail cell after a Hague trial but if we are honest with each other the chances of that are minimal, maybe 5% at a push.
I'll be honest i haven't really been following the war since last summer so maybe im mistaken but i just don't see the will being there from the west to give Ukraine what it needs to win this thing (where are the jets) so i can only see some sort of negotiated peace at some stage myself. If that makes me a Russian Nazi putinbot or whatever then i guess it is what it is.
Things heating up
give the fcukers hell.
