Tesla should be good for 400km though? It says 491km, 350 is probably plenty, that's id3 was closer to 200km at times.
I can get a z long range standard spec in a few weeks, know where there's one coming up for 35. Need to make a decision over the weekend if going for it. 7 year warranty could be worth it, probably move it on in 2/3yrs.
Depends how it is driven. I am getting over 400km but not a lot of motorways. But the Tesla will be much better than the VW at higher speeds and in colder weather with the heat pump.
It'll have a regular 250km round trip all year round mostly motorway. Sitting at 120km I presume.
I would hope so, but never done all motorway
Motorway range in my 2020 SR+ (409km WLTP) is about 230km winter & 260-270km winter.
So the newer RWD’s should easily do 260 winter and 300+ summer
all sitting at 120km/h
I just did Cork to Dublin and back on Thursday. On the way up at 50% remaining I could see I had travelled 150km and that was with a strong wind, about 8C and doing 120km/h. Efficiency was even better on the way back by about 30wh/km temps had risen to about 15C.
Cheers thought it would do a little more on the motorway. It's enough though, nothing else has that range at the same price or lower?
If buying through the company will the car be now €45k (grant).
Not if someone else buys it first.
Happy with the look and easy to take off the aero covers and pop these on. The aero covers are definitely easier to clean though!!!
I know you’re only interested in range but if on the road a lot there are other considerations, faster charging, access to the Tesla SuC network, infotainment, heat pump is lightening fast to warm up car, all heated seats and wipers, no 12v lead acid battery to worry about to throw a few out there and lest not forget the Model 3 far superior safety rating
Looks alot better alright. How long did they take to deliver?
A week or so I think, not long at all. They ship from NL.
I'd rather be in an accident in the Tesla than the MG that's for sure. They live beside the Tesla charger en route unfortunately. Do Tesla still give and free charging, is it much for a top up from them at the charger?
No more free charging on new cars in general. The old cars (S and X) still have it where applicable.
But they can order though a referal link and they’ll get store credits that they can buy supercharging mikes with.
is it much for a top up from them at the charger?
Price varies, can be checked from the Tesla App or on car screen. They don't otherwise advertise the prices.
Today the price at Cork Suc is €0.56/kWh and €0.60 peak (4pm to 8pm). Belfast £0.39 and £0.40 peak.
Trip today on M1/M50/M7/M9 motorways, along with some 60 & 80km/h roads.
Distance 254km
Total consumption 139Wh/km.
Departed at 100%, returned with 36% remaining.
Stop at M9 Kilcullen services - no charge, coffee & bathroom only. Chargers were full with a queue but didn't actually need a charge.
That puts it at about 400km range in this weather with predominantly motorway driving.
Yep, very similar to mine, 400km roughly which is more than I'll ever likely need unless I'm driving whest for holidays, presumably more range once temperatures pick up.
Had a 260km airport run yesterday, 85% motorway at 110 and 15% M50/M1 speed, 138Wh/km
Just had a look at the pricing of the Model 3 RWD. In White, no extras, €40,332.
If you add a colour (MSM, Blue, Black) at €1200 then the price of car is €42,268. (+€1936).
If you go for red at €2300 then the price of car is €44,042. (+€3710).
Might help someone who is considering ordering, the VRT implications for ordering a colour are high due to the sliding VRT reductions. For a red car a wrap may be a cheaper option. Other options such as wheels or white seats would have a similar VRT increase.
Hi Guys,
Tesla newbie here, my wife just ordered a Model 3, RDW White (no extras ) Friday 14th April, Deposit paid, and Tesla agreement form received, followed by confirmation mail...
We have tried phoning to get approx delivery date but nobody answers, roughly when would expected delivery be ?
Tks,
They do not build cars to order, if there is one like that in one of future you will get it assigned to your account and see VIN number.
Log into your account and it will tell you approx delivery window.
That's pretty good, wasn't that warm and was bit windy yesterday too, 400km range on motorway with 300bhp for €40,000 is a good deal now
It could do 115Wh/km in the brief 25c summer days we get, 500km range then
I have a run from Rush down to Artane/Beaumont, 50km round trip, involving country roads (60km/h & 80km/h) and then a quick jaunt down the M1 (18km in the return trip) …. I’d do it almost daily during the summer school holidays to collect junior BoBandy
The best I’ve ever managed that return trip was 109Wh/km in my 2020 SR+ (409km WLTP), it was a warm summers day and in fairness I probably sat at about 100km/h on the motorway sections and in general was in a bit of a hypermile mood… normally the trip would be at about 120-130Wh/km.
So on that ‘record’ day (and if I was doing that same trip back and forth non stop and getting the same consumption) my theoretical range would have been 458km…… then on ‘regular’ consumption days the theoretical range would be 380-415km…. (If you got that same 109Wh/km consumption in a newer RWD you’d eek out around 550km in range…)
So really not bad for a 409km WLTP rated car in the summer…
The SR+/RWD Model 3 is one of the most efficient EV’s on the road.
I see that when you look at order agreement RWD Model 3 comes with "Partial Premium Interior" while AWD seems to have "Premium Interior" - is it known what is difference in 2023 cars between those?
I think only the sound system.
Sound system.
Front Fog lights.
That’s all I know of.
Footwell lights too.
