They brought it in to make him completely and utterly unlikeable. Otherwise people like you would start rooting for him. He is meant to be the villain of the piece after all.
The issue yesterday was with Sky. No problem with Virgin, Eir not any others. RTE often deserves bashing, but not for this.
Time for something to happen, it’s the slowest show I’ve ever watched, someone with good editing skills could cut the whole series into one episode

I said it at time that he had abused Birdie when he put his hands down the front of his trousers . There were signs of his power over Birdie .
But Bren did that it front of Amanda, not Birdie. For me, the first hint of his abuse was the day he came out of prison and he put his hands on Birdie's legs in the pub.
It doesn't help Jimmy's character at all if he's prepared to stand by bren if he has abused the sister, it makes jimmys character a bigger joke than he already is, imo

I wonder if Viking will dispose of the sim card as he was instructed to do by Bren, or, will he keep it as insurance to use against Bren in case he tries to off Nikita?

I get the impression Michael is the older one and he has more bad memories of Bren than Jimmy does?
There was alot packed into last nights episode unlike the week before which I thought was a little flat.
We've now learned why Brens wife and daughter left and as Michael said in last night's episode they had to. Tough watching.
The mother and 2 sons, 1 of them the ones that killed Anthony. Their story line in it is a bit strange, it's definitely a needed edge but it's a poor one overall. I can see the girl from the pharmacy getting caught up with and on the wrong side of Michaels door with them 2 sons although when Viking could get away from them I think anyone could 😅
I'm enjoying the show anyway.
I find it hard to believe Anna would want anything to do with grandfather after that. If she does it stretches credibility. Teenage and young women have an inbuilt radar for creeps. Take your top off, touching, dance for me etc.
Abuse occurs in the home but usually when the victim has a long standing relationship with the abuser. This fella is a stranger to Anna and any 15/16 year old girl would run a mile.

Bren stayed the night in Jamie's bedroom. Can't remember exactly why Amanda went into the room...maybe they met on the landing after bathroom visit or something... anyway words were exchanged and bren lay back down on the bed , hand in boxers.
When he got out of jail when bridy asked why didn't he tell them, they would have arranged a house for him. He put his hand on her leg and said he'd stay in hers.
I wonder how old the kids were when the mother left. Very unusual to leave 2 kids behind with an abuser.
I remember that scene very clearly where Amanda (not Birdie) was talking to Bren, who was perched on a bed, and then he placed his hand inside his trousers. This confusion cropped up before in this thread and was clarified. I remember Bren squeezing Birdie's leg in the pub, not long after he came out of prison, and how uncomfortable she looked. The hugging didn't register with me to the same extent as the hand on the leg.
Yea I think that was referenced in one of the episodes that Michael is older

I half hope it will be Birdy who gets Bren, maybe with the help of Frank and Michael. Do you know was he at Frank too, or just bullying him?

I have a feeling we might be introduced to the long lost sister and mother in future seasons, i think that's why they were mentioned.
