New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Should Calvin Nash's try have been given?
Well he's not gonna grow 3 or 4 inches, but he could be an outstanding back row option in a 3 lock pack
RG, Kleyn, Ahern, Edogbo as the 2nd rows, Beirne and Wycherley as 3rd locks playing in the back row
320 now for the "normal" flight times
Ox strolling over for a bro-fist with RG while all hell breaks loose. It's so pure.
Frisch nailed the kick, but it was also great deception to have Healy take the ball from the lineout, looking to all the world that he'd be the kicker.
More than likely drew their winger infield the yard or two needed for the ball to get over his head into the corner.
i originally thought the kick was going to continue straight and bounce into the in-goal (or even dead), to see it veer off at pretty much a right angle was pure beauty
I was looking at flights out of Dublin on the Saturday and returning late Sunday night and they were cheap enough. In saying that I don't think I'll travel.
QF confirmed for Saturday 6th May Glasgow Warriors (4) v Munster (5)

to try to target POM (or was it POM who targeted all 15 of them ? :)
I have it on good authority that 1 v 15 wasn't enough for POM, so he intentionally got himself yellow-carded to brawl with locals on the sideline. In the ten minutes he put together an undefeated streak of 29 fights and secured a KwaZulu-Natal divisional title.
Thank you thank you thank you!
From Connacht!
This ensured we ended the game in their 22 and unlucky not to have bagged a BP win.
I thought we were well off the pace in the first half and lucky to be only 19-3 down. Multiple missed tackles and poor decision making made for a horror show. The scrum was heading for a YC and is still a worry area if we are to target cups in the future.
loughman and Archer were in all sorts of trouble, not sure if thats from the refereeing or just pure power from the Sharks. It did seem to settle down in the second half, which sounds like adjustments were made at half time, which was good to see.
looks to me like the Sharks were getting an early nudge every time and engaged in such a way that the munster scrum couldnt set properly. A few delayed put ins by Murray seemed to sort it out.
but the team stuck with it and upped the intensity at the start of the second half and rattled the sharks. The sharks lost their composure and started making mistakes, one of which was to try to target POM (or was it POM who targeted all 15 of them ? :) )
fantastic to get very good performances and results from all the squad on that mini tour, especially when the SA teams needed results themselves.
we are still looking like an immature squad with hot and cold performances, sharks part 1 and Glasgow(cold)vs Stormers and Sharks part 2 (hot)
our focus and intensity seems to be either excellent or awful, even sometimes drifting between the two during the match itself , like first half vs second half yesterday (cold to hot ) and the scarlets match (hot to cold).
hopefully a bit of maturity in squad terms will settle that down.
one issue that has me worried is where are our leaders when POM eventually retires ?
no denying yesterday gave us all a spring in our step today
As for this... it was his 7th yellow card for us in 174 appearances (146 starts) over 13 seasons.
That's not typically thuggish by any measure.
I genuinely believe if Fineen grew into a 6’7 19st body he’d be an international calibre player. His workrate and aggression is top class. But still, he is an important member of the Munster squad no doubt.
Nash gets lucky with the ball here but you just know if there's a chance he'll be there or there abouts, he's had a super season
Good point in the comments about Coombes working quickly back from his original liftee (?) in time to help with Fineen's jump
This was as good as a score for us
For all I occasionally have doubts about Fineen Wycherley due to his size he had a good game. So did Edogbo when he got on.
Murray Daly and Nash were the picks of the backline imo.
He was good alright, I didn’t realise he had a kick like that 50:22 in his locker.
Defensively, he made one poor read shooting when Fekitoa also did but didn’t get near his man leading to a line break.
But he’s tasked with an awful lot of scramble which he’s been really good at. He even had one rip today, as himself (and Crowley) initially went to hold up an attacker.
lol
Phoning it in
On the whistle ratings are absolute nonsense anyway even when they don't balls it up
Whatever about the graphics... Frisch was outstanding today I thought. Would have to watch it back to see him defensively and how he went but he's been a super signing. Would love to see him get a shot in green
Jaysus someone had a mare with that
The Independent with some of its patented, top-tier, on the whistle rugby ratings:
You've just given the Indo a click it doesn't usually get from me, in future please put a spoiler alert on links like that.
Strange how the seagulls disappear
They had to get back to the seaside to pester the locals...
Strange how the seagulls disappear once Munster come back into the game. I genuinely can't understand why posters arrive into a Munster match thread just to post negative stuff about Munster. I'd really love to know what's going on inside their head.
On the match/tour itself, I was babysitting today so only saw the match in bits & pieces. From the way the game started I thought we were never going to get a point from the game and in the end we were unlucky not to get a TBP win.
We were unbeaten in SA on this mini tour and the only downer from the tour is Earls' injury, really hope is not too bad
Player of the tournament for me was Murray, honourable mention to POM, Kleyn, Archer, Nash & Daly. Healy had two great games off the bench.
At the beginning of the season I said that not many teams would want to be going to SA looking for points, we had to and did it, 7 from a possible of ten, not too shabby and really unlucky not to get the 10/10.
That’s a super result, particularly with the score at HT. 7 points from the tour is a huge turnaround in both performances and results.
Thought Fineen was outstanding, his best game for us in a long time and needed in Snyman’s absence.
Lineout was exceptional and signs of a good attacking maul platform again. (POM had 2 unbelievable takes).
Another 80 mins from Archer is a ridiculous shift, even with the scrum under huge pressure.
Thought Nash, Fekitoa and Murray were all excellent (again) too.
Ultimately a great response to a really poor recent performance against the same opposition. We’ve a great opportunity to do the same vs Glasgow now. That’ll be… let’s say spicy.
Mod: This is trolling. Post more constructively if you want to continue posting here.
Mod: Abuse is not acceptable.
Plus if Sharks beat Leinster we’d have them in Thomond for the semi.
