Re the Limerick v Waterford match the best result for us ,and others would be a Limerick win as Limerick are probably going through anyway.
Noel McGrath captain for Sunday, well deserved.
He's been the captain all year?
I hadn't realised. I was at the league match against Dublin in February and roman maher was captain. Anyway good to see Noel back to form and captain.
Munster Minor Football Championship
Tipperary: 3-18(27)
Waterford: 1-3(6)
Some surgery performed on the team. In my opinion, Eddie Ryan is no 11 - strictly a corner forward in my book. Has flattered to deceive so far. The men either side of him have more about them as cfs. Certainly more about them in terms of bringing players into a game.
Don't know why Dee is off the 26.
Strange that such an underperforming 6 up front has no room for Ronan Connolly.
Two personal changes and switches to half back line too - in two very important positions.
Another change at Keeper - which I'm in favour of. Horgan is a really good keeper but is only 17 and looked through-in at the deep end in first two games, especially when it came to puck outs.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I feel underwhelmed by that selection.
...
Match Day Panel.
told you things werent all what they seem in this camp. Cummins and other selectors not agreeing on which keeper should play. How Dee isnt even in the squad is ridiculous when you consider how poor other guys have been and have been given ample opportunity. this is a do or die game.
When is Sundays team being announced.
I'd say tonight
Will cathal Barrett start I wonder.
Yeah I'd imagine so.
Tonight as normal. 26 man panel given to CP on a Thursday and then team list / subs to be given to ref 45 mins prior to throw in - 4 changes can be made to the 26 man panel.
That's why you see some teams release 'teams' this morning as list was sent to Croke Park yesterday but the actual team / subs will be confirmed before throw in.
Yes. FB line will be Barrett, Breen & Ryan.
Love the tactic of releasing the 26 by alphabetical order to piss off that Derrick Lynch fella.
It's very easy piss that lad off.
Tipp might get senior two or three players out of the under 20 bunch yet.
Hilarious... Poor chap is easy to wind up.
Presume team will be out shortly?
Some unexpected changes.
Two number 17's 🤔
What's a Tipp press release without an error. O'Connor will be wearing 20.
He's a muppet, a wannabe Ewen McKenna or Colm Parkinson.
I'd expect a few positional changes before throw in, I don't think Ronan will start full back, also don't expect John McGrath in the half forward line and O'Connor full forward.
Thought Conor Stakelum would start.
I can't see them lining out like that anyway.
Being honest lads if Davy Fitz pulled a stroke like this regarding the numbers he'd be lynched on Twitter right now.
Probably. But that's because of Davy's history of stroke pulling and people are sick of it.
The whole squad number thing has been done a number of times. Derek McGrath. Loughnane. To name a few. It's nothing new under the sun. Won't bother me. I know the players regardless of what number it is. It might hurt the casual - perhaps. I don't see how it's a big deal. I think it will become the norm though because there's so many injuries throughout the round robin - so many changes to teams pre-throw in - that odd numbers starting outside of 15 has seeped in.
Squad numbers is the way it's going.
You'll see this more and more as the season goes on. Team's will announce the team when it suits them. And just give HQ a list of 26 on the Thursday. You don't have to give your confirmed team / subs with 4 changes to the officials until 40 minutes before throw in.
