Just opened today! Anyone know what percentage of job offers are based outside Dublin just out of curiosity?
I'm up next week, so I could be the last week of interviews for this batch.
Thank you
Yes I'd say you're correct, based on the dates for board members they have given up to the 28th for interviews so I'd expect to hear something in the week following. Just hoping they don't keep us waiting too long!
Best of luck with the interview 🤞
I am clearance stage, moving from private sector. Around the reference request, has anyone had any issues with employers about this? I obviously haven't told my current employer about the EO comp but if a reference request is sent I will have to inform them. This will not be my notice/ resignation however, as I don't know when the EO role will become available. I'm just a little worried about the request being sent for a role when I have no job offer really or indication of when I might start new role. It seems a little cart before the horse to me and may lead to awkward conversations with my current employer. Any assistance would be great on this.
Depends, I had 64 certified days in 4 years because I had emergency spinal surgery last year. Following an assessment with the CMO they accepted it as it was medically necessary.
Any movement in Kerry?
In my experience, I got assigned a department as soon as the last of my documents were in, one of my references took so long, but they confirmed it was in at 11am that day and I was assigned that evening.
I would have the discussion with your employer now, easier for everyone, at least they can put a plan in place.
Is there likely to be an open EO comp this year anyone know or guess at?
No, this one runs until June '24, or until the panel is exhausted, whichever is first. Around then a new competition will open.
Hey guys,
Does anybody know for the interview if you can bring anything in with you? For example the competencies sheet provided by PAS? Thanks
Oh, have they returned to face-to-face interviews?
No sorry it’s online but I’m not sure if they make you move your camera around the room to make sure there’s nobody with you etc.
I wasn't asked to move my camera. The interview is very very fast though so best to try learn the KPIs for each competency.
Yes. You can bring in your application form and you could have the competency sheet with you.
Best of luck
Hi all
Does anyone know what no they have called to Sligo
Thanks
I haven't been called for interview yet but I'm just wondering for those that are currently COs on the open competition, is it possible to request placement in your current Department? Ideally if I was placed, I'd rather stay where I am.
Do you mean just the department or actual section you currently work in? Staying in the same department can be done alright, especially bigger ones like DSP and Revenue. Staying in your actual section/area can be a lot harder and I've been told it's not the done thing at all.
It can be done alright depending on the HEO & AP & of course on whether there's a vacancy for an EO. I worked in Revenue & one of the COs in my section got EO & was allowed to stay in our section.
Thanks, yeah I meant in same Department. Although section would be nice and there is vacancies at the moment. It's probably still going to take ages for me to be called for EO interview but it's good to know there's a possibility I can try get to stay in same Department.
Thanks a mill 😊
I know someone who went from EO to AO, didn't even move desk! I'm sure theres a way of HR tagging who they really want, just depends on if PAS bothers to pay attention to it tbh.
Hi all,
On open competition, once assigned, how long is it usually before the start date?
Do we get to give notice to current employer (non Civil Service).
They understand that most employers expect at least a months notice so you'll be able to hand in your notice in reasonable time.
How long are people waiting roughly for their new department to contact them after being assigned? I'm anxious to get moving :-)
Two weeks today, still waiting...
I got assigned the Thursday evening at half 4 before Easter, they got in contact Tuesday at 5.20pm ish. So 1 working day was mine lol
I got an EOI (Dublin Open) on the 17th. Still waiting for an interview invitation. Seems a long time. Anyone else receive an EOI that date? My OOM is 1457.
Same, I have an eoi but no date yet.
On 31/03/23
we have called forward up to open OOM 58 and interdepartmental OOM 21 from Kerry to stage 2 interview
Hi , All
Just an update. I had my interview this week and as previously advised it was fast paced. Alot of questions on my education and previous job roles.
Conflict, underperformance, anyalsis and decision making skills. What my challenge would be as an EO and challenges for Civil service. How I deal with pressure. Would I be impartial or biased. Presume this was asked as I previously worked in Deasp.
Not sure when results are out but presuming they are doing interviews in 2 week batches, so may be out next week.
Hii had my interview this week and I was around 1440's. I would contact PAS to enquire. They do say you should receive with 3 working days of an EOI if not contact them.
