Ah, I get it now! That's some bloody step up into a shower, you'd want to dry your feet well before stepping down onto the wooden floor.
I hope they have an industrial strength fan in there unless there's a window somewhere.
Far to many unnecessary close up shots of taps etc., but I love it!
Based on the outside pictures, I expected the inside to look like the Father Ted set so was pleasantly surprised at it!
Yes it was or is Mark Feeliys house. I thought it was sold last time but I could be wrong
I still feel like Dougal (small/ far away) when I look at it, but will study it again.
To be fair that is beautifully photographed
The location is incredible. The decor is awful.
I love the Redcross house
Effort put into the house inside = A+
Effort put into the house externally = NG
Lovely inside (the bits they have renovated) but lads, couldn't they do something with the outside. A powerwash. Some gardening etc. It's like a lot of money was spent doing it up and then they ran out of money, e.g. the bedroom with just wooden floors that hasn't been renovated fully yet (pic 28).
Rooms on the first floor will require cosmetic renovation and allows the purchaser to create their own vision for the property.
A million quid and you have to do up the first floor yourself. And it looks like it's a bit more than cosmetic. Unless you count radiators/plumbing/electrical as cosmetic. A radiator has been removed in pic 28 and the sockets look like the ones used to build Noah's Ark.
I know it has 8 acres but it seems overpriced to me.
That Kilbaha house from the outside looks like an exclusive mental hospital for the well-heeled lunatic. That or a Betty Ford Clinic.
The ground floor has been restored to a high standard - elegant and timeless. I suspect they ran out of money.
Lovely house but the exterior and grounds on that house is going to need a HUGE investment to take it up to standard. Its a house that has had no money spent on outside since it was built I would say - it was designed for a different era.
On PPR, I see a Lahanna house sold in Dec 21 for 1,455,000€. It could be this one.
Nice to see a house posted here that doesn't have the TV mounted above the fire place or up near the ceiling.
That courtyard shot looks like it is from a Call Of Duty map.
In fact, the whole house could have been designed by someone who designs FPS maps.
Yeah, some great vistas but the interior design, imo, is pretty tacky and incredibly sterile.
3 bed near donegal town, price on application (think it's been up for a while so may have been up here before.

You do wonder what on earth is in people's heads sometimes.
Given a large budget, the last thing I'd build is a replica Lara Croft's ancestral home from Tomb Raider, complete with fake paintings of fake ancestors.
ah but the description "Elegantly appointed Scottish Baronial style residence constructed to the highest caliber and craftsmanship throughout."
😀
More navy ceilings - must have gone to the same architect/designer as that mad house in Clare.
Can't believe that's only a 3-bed.
I have a slight headache after looking through the pictures, far too much clashing busy detail everywhere - and that black and white bathroom, horrendous!
why only 3 bedrooms in such a big house?
The entrance hall is brutal. Looks like they wanted to pretend they live in a castle and pretend they are royalty.
Here's a question. How do you get in and out of the bath without getting either:
A. A groin strain
or
B. Scraped shins
C. Kneecapped by the taps
I'm conflicted with this house. There's bits I like and then there's bits I hate.
Things I like. The location is fabulous. The look of the exterior, nothing too fancy. The entrance pillars and gate are very nice. The patio area overlooking the lake, nice. Shoot me for it but I can't help liking the pool room and bar.
Things I dislike. The entrance hall 1000000%. Is that brick wallpaper in the hall, yep, more of that sh1te upstairs. The pillars in the sitting room, just why? Steps everywhere, not age or alcohol friendly. Trying to look all regal with the old paintings and royal blue in the hallway in what is obviously a modern house.
The rest of the house I can live with, but not the hall. That absolutely kills it for me. 5/10
That Donegal one was on Telly a few years ago, might have been something with Hugh Wallace but AFAIR the man that owned it was a Carpenter.
Because the hall is the size of a decent sized two story house.
It was on Selling Ireland's Dream Homes. Wouldn't be my cup of tea but he put a serious amount of love and craftsmanship into it.
I went looking. A painter or ahem............master painter to give him his correct title.
The blockwork in the hall and bedroom is actually painted on. I thought it was wallpaper. Great talent, still looks poxy though.
He was looking for €950k for it last year.
The photos for this house remind me of the time that Ned Flanders house was re-built in The Simpsons.
Definitely a fixer up
That must be the grimmest back garden I’ve ever seen. Rotten fence, backing onto a massive warehouse. It’s gotten a run of a strimmer a few times since the builders left in 2004
This looks like a house that was bought new as a buy to let and got the barest minimum maintenance since. Grim.
Its very hard to understand how some people couldnt care less about the house they live in or the surroundings. Even if it was a rental you would think the tenants or landlord would be able to at least keep it neat. Its so small - it would take very little time to maintain. The experience of living there would have been so much nicer if the garden was neat with a few shrubs/ flowers/pots for colour. Some people are just wasters.
They could have at least tidied it up for sale.
Lived in a place for the summer many years ago with a very neglected back garden, but borrowed some gardening tools from a nearby Aunt and made it my summer project to clear it. It was so overgrown that I found a washing machine in it. Yes, it’s the landlords responsibility, but personal pride also comes into it
