New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Cos we only have 2 senior 10’s for next season. And at least one of them is likely to be away for the RWC. Possibly both depending on injury.
We need someone regardless of RWC anyways, but the need is obviously more acute when you’re down numbers.
Won't there be like two or three URC games during the RWC?
Why would we need to sign anyone?
Born in the maternity hospital on the Ennis Rd in Limerick if he's from Clare😁. I have great fun reminding my staunch Clare friends about their place of birth.
Born in Clare, went to school in Limerick and represented Limerick in Minor hurling.
Isn’t he from Limerick? Can’t be having Clare claiming him. ;)
Sign Conor Fitzgerald, who's leaving Connacht and is from Clare.
Charlie Tector is an Academy player, so presumably if Munster were to offer him a full contract they could take him too if they wanted to.
More likely we get someone like Jake Flannery on a short term loan
Two seasons would be a bit of a stretch for someone who'll be 40 in June.
Scannell can play 10.
If Munster play Carbery at 15 for a string of games the internet will combust.
I think we could well be without Joey & Jack during the RWC which will be a real shame as it looks like Joey is now a break glass option for Ireland.
Funnily enough, that was the name I had in my head as well..
Would be a fantastic signing for a season or maybe two while you wait for someone like Tony Butler to make step up from the Academy.
Jimmy Gopperth. Offer him a house in Lahinch, tell him he can surf every morning before training and he'd happily sign up.
Hard to see anyone with any kind of profile wanting to sign to be a very solid 3rd choice to be honest.
You are really looking at someone well into their 30's looking for a final season or two or perhaps a half-decent young guy being squeezed out by the salary cap in England for example.
Given the current pecking order, Carbery won’t make the RWC squad, barring injury so should be available.
And however disappointing he’s been, he’s certainly good enough for during the RWC cover. (I think that’s lowballing him tbh).
We could do with 1 more 10 alright, tho; it’ll be interesting to see if an NIQ is allowed, but whoever comes in, it’s very much we 3rd choice I’d imagine.
I said it a while ago that Munster should have insisted that they be allowed bring in a NIQ outhalf, carbury is now 3rd choice and completely fallen out of favor, to be honest he always looked better at 15, with Healy going and Crowley on world cup duty this will leave Munster with almost no option at 10 until November. And the only other Irish option is Tector but I can't see leinster letting him move unless it's a short term emergency measure
The name BR RG came from his tour in Vietnam.
The people who know its meaning are all dead.
..
I can't see the back when I have it on😉
Does it have an Exeter crest on the back?
We'll have two Chiefs players as centres. Lucky I have the T shirt from a trip to NZ.
Not sure if mentioned here already, but RG is out of the Sharks game, following the return to play protocols after a head injury.
Not giving him the attention he craves
Who's that?
I think this is a good if somewhat low key signing. SOB was very good for Connacht, especially defensively. We shouldn't have let him go. His first season at Exeter wasn't great, but recently he's been a regular starter.
This is a good signing, I don't see much of Exeter but looks like a decent player. Between him, Frisch and Nankivell, there's surely the makings of a good midfield next season.
I don't know much about him, I think we needed another centre but I see the usual suspect howling at the moon over the signing.
Munster alive and well & living rent free in his head

The Indo's reporting was accurate. Sean O'Brien signs 2 year deal. https://twitter.com/Munsterrugby/status/1648277231574167554?t=v7l_UW_TJDoWhhF89Wo6AQ&s=19
Pretty sure he was subbed for a HIA
Edit to add
He left the pitch for an HIA in the 65th minute after a dynamic and well-rounded performance in all the crucial facets of a lock’s game.
Wonder will they throw Edogbo straight in? That would be exciting to see.
I must have not being paying attention just thought he went off as normal. To excited by the game in general 😂
