Medium sized. Not overly big by any means but probably just not for heifers. 2nd calvers on I’d imagine. He’s 2 x F94l so he’s a safe enough bet all round
I have a cow that's 293 days today to BB4396 should I be starting to worry, I've not used to many blues in the past.
What was she like for gestation on previous pregnancies?
She will calf when she is ready He not hardest calving bull. Should be grand
There was no need to be worried all, he fell out of her.
Looking at his figures in France, he brings good beef qualities but I wouldn't use him for replacements as his milk scores are poor. 94 at 51% reliability where 100 is deemed as average. He has the polled gene so I think that was part of the reason he was brought in.
Poor milk figures for a Saler bull would still be good overall. Similar to simmental, in my view.
I don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to Milk figures TBH. Had a cow with 2kgs for a milk figure and used that Saler bull Beguin on her and her heifer calf has a figure of 5.7kgs for milk after genotyping so you think you would see an improvement in the size of her bag but no, it's just as small as her mothers! She has reared a cracker of a BB calf this year so maybe it's a quality of milk thing, who knows
I think there is something in the quality of milk statement there
I bulled 2 mzt heifers 2 years ago, they don't have bags of milk but maybe they brought quality from their mothers
The more I look at icbf figures they more I think people are not trusting their own eye.
Maybe I'm completely wrong
Im waiting for a saler calf out of a CH. 294 days now. Doesn’t look like it’s arriving anytime soon either.
Find that ourselves with the salers. They don't seem to improve on the size of there mothers bag but they always seem to be full and keep the size all through the rearing of the calf. and calves thrive away great
Two LM2117 below.
23 weeks old bull and 3 weeks old heifer
(I really need to tighten up my calving window….)
Don't get too hung up on the size of the bag here. Have friesian cows here with bags dragging the ground doing 30-35 litres and then have others with lovely high tight wide udders doing 42 litres.
Sur register both the same time and you can sell as twins later on 😜😜
He was hiding behind a bale of hay your honour.
Any use the blue bull BZC from bova?
What's the bull calfs like out of him, & would his daughters make good cows?
Makes a change from hiding in the rushes like a lot of em obviously are lol
Advice - if you were selling 3 nearly yearling heifers on behalf of a recently incapacitated neighbour (2 are 4 star and the other 2 star) in a mart would it be advantageous to tell the auctioneer the bulls that they are by. The owner was in the BDGP scheme and when I checked their eartags on ICBF their stars showed. One of the 4 stars is by Tweedale Lennox and the other by ZAG. I presume the stars will show on the mart board.
You can if you want. Definitely say they are AI bred as that’s a good selling point. You could say an AI bred heifer by ZAG to the auctioneer. If he’s anyway decent he will say it out.
If you can see the stars on ICBF they should be on the board. Sometimes you hear stock announced as Ai bred but seldom the bull named. I don’t think it makes a whole pile of difference most of the time, lads around the ring buy with their eyes not stars imo.
I see that Dovea AI did buy the top priced bull at the Athenry sale on April 13th. Nice looking bull.

I picked up a few Cerberus straws. Just wondering what type of cow (PD LMs) works best with him?
He’s a bit of a giraffe with questionable docility so I’d be thinking a very quiet small cow.
How much are hereford and Angus straws nothing too fancy iv my own ai tank and its DIY ai
Gene ireland did beef straws at a fiver last year...don't know if them bulls were proven or not
After that it's upwards in price to pre order stuff
Great bull, super figures
Any body got any info on this bull for me?
I got some straws from Eurogene yesterday. Pado Peredur were €38, too much for me. I got Elite Lacette (16€), neymar (15€) and Usse(15€).
I have 2 calves on the ground from both Neymar and Lacette. Happy with both. What kind of cow would suit Usse. I'm thinking he would add maternal traits to big beefy types.
Usse heifers are great cows, they are much smaller than their mothers with more milk.
Never used him. If you are on the lookout for blues with maternal figures KZG from Dunmasc throughs lovely stock
