Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Will AC/DC finally play Slane ?
I'd love Limp Bizkit to play another gig here. Their Olympia gig was the best gig I've ever been to.
Garth Brooks playing outside Dublin in Cork, limerick, kilkenny,Galway and Belfast is being talked about
Be stupid not too do that type of tour and no doubt it will sell
Could also tie it in with the release of the Netflix documentary
His new Vegas residency is going into 2024
Probably Taylor Swift in Coker. Shes doing US this year
timing will be issue, new GAA championship fixtures throws spanner in the works as croke park off limits for May/June/July.
The World of Hans Zimmer is coming to the 3 Arena on April 12th.
Technically not a gig but will be of interest to many people Im sure.
September 17th 2024 to November 16th 2024
I'm willing to wait for it.....
Pearl Jam announced a US tour for the end of this year, and chance we see them here for 2024?
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say no 😂, we've a better chance of getting another Eddie solo show
No harm in hoping 🙈🙈
Dermot Kennedy and Cian Ducrot for PUC I'd say
Sorry posted in wrong thread.
Maybe this has been a thing for a while but I've noticed a lot of gigs just up their prices significantly after the initial release of tickets , just labelled "Platinum tickets" - John Mayer at the moment is a good example where there are tickets available now but pretty poor sections at almost double what they initially went on sale for (I got block D pre-sale for €110 where that area is now well over €200) per ticket on Ticketmaster. There's no extras to these "platinum" tickets, it really should be clamped down on
Platinum tickets are ticketmasters premium priced tickets. They've been doing it for a good few years now where they'll sell standard tickets well over face value for some of the better seats. These tickets weren't "upped", they were never for sale at face value and ticketmaster essentially took them for themselves to sell at a higher price. It's a joke and how it gets around reselling legislation is beyond me.
Platinum tickets are just general ones held back initially from going on sale.
if it’s a popular event they are sold as platinum, if they fail to sell at platinum price they will just be released at normal price closer to the show.
That is crazy how it gets around legislation - they make a point about targeting touts but this doesn't get looked at.
Its getting worse though.
There are more and more platinum tickets being released for events.
Holdbacks before that would have been released at face value are now being released as Platinum from what I can see.
The legislation is rubbish, all its led to is higher ticket prices for the public and more people being ripped off by scammers on Twitter and Facebook.
It hasn't made it easier to get tickets for popular events, its the opposite if anything.
Ticketmaster have a monopoly now and they are manipulating the market.
This was outlined to the politicians that voted on this, they actually thought dynamic pricing was VIP tickets.
Its only going to get worse and worse.
Ticketmaster are the biggest touts in the world
Does anyone think their will be concerts in Croke Park next year ? Cause seeing videos from Beyoncé’s concert I really do think they missed out this year having her not perform here and before anyone asks yes i am a massive fan of her and am very bitter she didnt play over here this year
Yeah I think someone on here said the manager of Croke said there will be concerts next year.
The Stranglers playing Dublin and Belfast in March 2024 https://twitter.com/mcd_productions/status/1658141499517747201?t=WlIbgAar1kl55gJgv6Bfbg&s=19
I think it depends on the timing of global stadium tours. Think the recent concerts there have been May, June and July but that clashes with the GAA season. Maybe they could have them in late August or September. Brooks gigs were September after the All Ireland finals.
Seems Croke Park was willing to have Taylor fight earlier in the summer but maybe more as a once off so not sure if they could fit a few concerts in then. Will be interesting to see if there are and who places. Guess Slane could be another option if Croke Park not available.
A few shows pencilled in according to GAA hq.
as mentioned the new season schedule doesn’t help matters
Taylor Swift again in Croke Park next year perhaps? I'm guessing her Eras Tour will come here in 2024 probably on sale for the Christmas market.
Mcd lost a few million on her last croke park shows.
venue availability is key factor with new championship schedule.
Sultans of Ping next March....
Garth extending his Vegas residency into Summer 2024. Big gap from Mid May-end June so maybe he might be touring our shores then
Gipsy Kings playing the Olympia on Monday 18th March https://twitter.com/3olympiatheatre/status/1661295975149993984
She is bigger now though. Maybe they will book one night and see how fast it sells before adding another this time. She will definitely book Aviva or Croke if available. Do you think the football season will be the same next year? I’m surprised they aren’t working around this because concerts bring in big money.
