I would imagine the resale value of any EV depends on a number of factors as well as battery condition. LFP more likely to still be doing quite well compared to a LR, especially if it's been driving long ranges ( lots of 100% charges).
It will all depend on the car owner as much as the car.
I test drove a white MY RWD this evening on the way home from work.
Great car, when you put the foot down it's got plenty of zoom, especially when accelerating at speed.
Funny, the front right tyre needs a pumping... It was at 34psi and the other 3 tyres were at 45psi which is a bit higher than the recommended 42psi.
The demo car had about 26000km on the odometer, and what was funny was that the battery was at 70% and was reporting 386km of range. But this is about 85% of the wltp range, and the max range that was reporting in the energy green app thingy was 452km.
Very strange as in my experience with other ev cars the wltp is never real world. Is this a bit optimistic on Tesla's part, or are they actually that good/accurate?
I had a lot of fun with it though. It's got some welly I must admit that was plenty enough for me without feeling that I couldn't handle it (I'm a cautious driver though 😀)
The display is nonsense.
It’s a set calculation based on the EPA/WLPT efficiency figure multiplied by the remaining battery as read by the BMS.
The car will do 360ish km at 100-110km/h.
The car will display set ranges at set % that matches the above calculation and in general will be the same for every car that leaves the factory. It does not take into account driving style etc
It will never display the WLPT figure.
So in the energy app, the max charge figure is nonsense?
The average and immediate options in the app were a bit mad given the demo driving style people do. Ie it was all up and down quite a lot.
Fun car all the same. Would love to know how existing owners find the real world RWD range but that might be another thread 😀
If you’re in the energy app, it’s accurate to a very close degree. The instant one is uk and down like a yo-yo. But in theory it’s telling you the range at your current driving style
Change it to past 10km or 50km and you’ll get a true figure.
The range display on the main screen is nonsense.
Realistic range on the MY RWD is about 10% less than the M3 so about 300-380 depending on conditions.
Has anyone with a M3 on order recently gotten a VIN? I know a lot of MYs have, once colour changed to Blue.
Wouldn't mind a blue M3 if it would get me a VIN, but I have the impression no M3s have gotten a VIN recently.
Think it’s just MYs orders that have gotten VINs recently. Mate of mine has one on order, switched colours a few times with no luck .
I have black/black MY on order for 2.5 months and no vin. Expectation is one next 2-3 weeks. If not then I think I'll move on I5 maybe
For those waiting on an M3, it may end up looking like this - https://twitter.com/matthewdr/status/1646341046408986627?s=46&t=7FggFpSq9y_lPheGce8raA
Tweak your design or order from inventory, you won't be assigned a VIN by waiting. I had a similar order. There aren't many Black/black MY's available.
I'm not prepared to pay extra and I don't want a white car. My assumption, probably incorrect, is that my car is on the next boat!
Theres 4 Black/Black in the inventory.... but only 1 under the grant https://www.tesla.com/en_IE/inventory/new/my?PAINT=BLACK&INTERIOR=PREMIUM_BLACK&arrangeby=plh&zip=D15&range=0
Yep, I'm aware but not prepared to pay 49k for a car I've ordered for 46.5k
Production doesn't start till next year for this as it would be using tesla new 4680 batteries. Tesla is still in talks to sort out electrode issues for that battery pack.
Can anyone advise on SEAI grant form? MY RWD expected delivery April 19 -may 4. SEAI form has my name at the top but needs to be completed by the registrant, who is my wife.
Also, could you please post contact number and/or email for Tesla?
Your best bet is go to the inventory page and click on the web chat on the bottom right.
Or call them : (01) 513 4727
My expected model Y delivery dates are currently showing as April 19-May 4 rang today to ask when I can expect to get a pick up dates got a vague response saying its likely to be between the 26th of April and 4th of May.
No more detail just told I would get a text message close to the pick up date?
That's with the 20’’ Induction Wheels though which are 2.3k extra.
I've a MY coming with an EDD of April 25th - May 10th with 19" Gemini wheels.
I'd pay 1.5k for a swap so you'd only be paying €800 extra then for the combo you want 😉
Tesla price cuts again in US, not Model Y LR is dead cheap
Thats normal so best manage expectations...you are close. Tesla will never be more specific until they are ready to offer delivery appointments
It’s less than a week to the delivery window. Do you not find it odd that they still have no certainty around the delivery? The cars are either arriving or they are not and surely at this stage in the game they know the story?? I wonder have they hit a stumbling block with transferring from uk to Ireland.
other side of it is people need some time to arrange payments etc.
For what’s it worth I got the following info from web chat…
(MYLR with vin) car is not confirmed yet.
i asked what that means…
it means the transport has not been confirmed yet. When transport is confirmed the vin will be confirmed and then the order is set for delivery.
I asked where is the car now….
No location available
I then asked am I wasting my time if the order isn’t confirmed 1 week from expected delivery window estimate…
You will get an update soon
(chat was with Eddy)
some craic this
There is nothing unusual in this ..dont overthink it . They will have hundreds of cars arriving, deliveries over compressed timeline, logistical challenges. You can see from this forum that many have made multiple orders and things change quickly. I have been through this 3 times at as i said you will only get a definitive (not generic) when they are ready to offer confirmed delivery appointment. This will suddenly start to happen usually around 2 to 3 weeks from delivery .
Wishing it was different or calling them wont change things, so best not to stress over matters.
I had the exact same conversation yesterday and received the same information.
I asked where its currently located (M3 LR from firesale) and he said en route from Shanghai. I asked if it's coming from the UK as opposed to China and was told no.
Couldn't give name of vessel, when it departed nor when it was even expected to arrive...
What number do you have in your VIN Shane, 75xxxx?
Has anyone who ordered a MYLR back in January gotten a vin?
I still have the generic "Apr - Jun" in the app and my order agreement is still missing.
I'm beginning to suspect Tesla won't make this quarter and have removed the order agreement in case they miss the grant cut off.
Yes, originally ordered a RWD in October, changed to LR just on Jan 16th. VIN received about a month ago.
Same I have both white and black LR ordered, the black one since Jan 14.
Generic EDD of Apr-Jun
Assume late June best case IMO
Same here, just make sure your wife signs the SEAI form. That's what they said to me, the name at the top is just for their reference.
Yeah I have a vin. Probably a month ago it showed up hidden and a day later in the app.
