Loads of MY RWDs in Inventory. Go go go.
Don’t forget to use a referral for anyone ordering.
Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum. I was intending buying a model 3 in the summer and I would like the colour black, is it true that I can get the model y in black which is an even more beautiful car, for 47k and a model 3 in black would cost me 46k because you pay extra for black on the model 3. I've seen some posts here to say deals offered in a 'Fire Sale' for the Y are now not valid, what does this mean, what price could I buy a black Y tomorrow for and if I ordered it tomorrow how long would it take to be delivered?
Also, I will be selling privately a 172D BMW 530e MSport with 42,000 miles on the clock, has anybody sold anything similar and did they find it difficult to find a buyer?
Thanks in advance for your help.

A Model Y in Black is €46,521.
Ignore the fire Sale Talk as its irrelevant at this stage. It was a group of cars that tesla put on their site at reduced costs in error and every order was cancelled. One or 2 may have slipped through but irrelevant to a new buyer now.
If you ordered today, you have a chance of getting in before July based on 2 ships coming.
Nice MSM RWD with white seats in inventory, would be my choice..😊
Thanks for the advice Gumbo, much appreciated.
Basic Model 3 is 43.5k, Model Y 46.5k. Black is almost 2k extra on 3 but free on Y so in black 45.5k v. 46.5k! Probably what they call a No-brainer!
Exactly why I went for model Y RWD black. Extra boot and cabin size for 1k. No brainer for me anyway
Also worth noting if you order any of the cars from existing inventory they are likely be delivered with the next batch estimated Apr 19 - May 04.
Ordering through a referral link will earn you and the referrer credits that can be spent on free supercharging KMs so definitely worth clicking through.
how reliable is the phone app key? Is it recommended to carry the physical keycard at all times or is the phone app reliable (assuming battery doesn’t die etc)
Mine has been 100% reliable over the last 13 months, but I suppose if my phone went dead I could phone the wife to start the car for me.
Oh wait, how could I do that..😁
(I do carry the key card with me on my house key ring in a key card holder)
Yeah I usually don’t carry a wallet as I use apple wallet for everything but I’m sure I can manage! Never used a phone to unlock and start a car before… or a keycard
Some people buy the fob, but personally I have never felt the need. I don't carry a wallet either, but always a key ring for work/home. I have the card on it in a slim rubber card holder
Mine has been perfect. I’ve gone without keys or cards on 90% of my journeys. Journeys that I wouldn’t have a wallet with me either way.
Great thanks!
Phone app is fantastic in terms of reliability and functionality and over the last year I have never used the keycard, although i do carry it with credit cards as a precaution should phone battery die etc. You can jus walk up to or away from your car and it unlocks or locks as appropriate but much more functionality .....you will love it
Can anyone recommend a trailer for rear wheel drive Model Y? (Due for delivery April 19 - May 4, VIN appeared on app today.)
I'm new to Ireland and looking for a trailer to haul green waste and firewood, plants, garden tools, bikes, kayaks.
The App Key is great. I have an iPhone and it's about 99% reliable, the other 1%, I have to wait about 10secs for the bluetooth to connect on approaching car. However, manually unlocking the car via the app works 100% of the time. So far, never had to use the key card, except on car delivery day :D
for small jobs anything would do, DD is your friend
Sounds like it’s really reliable via the app. Thanks 👍🏻
Just spotted a white MY RWD on way into town. Probably collected the same day as mine as the reg no was 23xxx, and mine is 241xx... had a nice dent on the boot and bumper at the back. Obviously used to have USS on previous car.
Might be worth considering having aftermarket parking sensors fitted. Surely be cheaper than repairs. It’s likely Tesla Vision is never really going to work on these 2023 cars without all the additional hardware that will come on the facelift model.
It’s a horrible thing to be saying about a car in 2023 but I think I’d consider it too if I had one of these.
Passed a blue 231 MY RWD the other day with a nice dent in boot also.
That may have been our car. The OH had a disagreement with a bollard - the bollard won. It happened the week before Tesla vision. Would avoid ACE, rude and expensive. Going with Ashley Ryder the week after next.
Could have been, turned left at Clonliffe Road ?
Let's know how much they charge and how you get on. The wife's Kona needs some bodywork repair done.
That'd be it......the shame!!!!! 😂
On the Facebook page I noted a number of post criticizing Ace over the past 12-18 months and only positive things re A.R. I'll report back once repaired.
I have been paying a lot of attention to my current cars uss today knowing I won’t have them in a few weeks on the MY. I only realised how inaccurate they can be. Slightly delayed at times and not as perfect as I used to assume. Have we just become hyper aware of tesla vision because it’s new? Uss are hardly foolproof either but we don’t mention it when uss is discussed. Maybe it’s just my car/experience.
Thanks for all the help folks, yes, I tend to agree that it is a no brainer if you are going for colour black in particular.
USS on Teslas very accurate as are the visuals they provide. Sorry to hear about new Y's getting bump damage, there's the reason Tesla forced you to sign a disclaimer before picking up the car. Facelift 3 and Y will have the hardwear to allow TeslaVision to work but current deliveries will be forever stuck without meaningfully working parking assist
