That’s a fair point too. The rules are that if you don’t sell you’ve to give the original tenants the option to move back in and you can’t increase the rent for the new tenants above the legal max either. Doesn’t mean this owner is planning on complying with that though…
It's 7 mins since you posted this and the ad is now gone...
I suspect that mouldy house is actually pretty ok once the horrendous mould situation is sorted (granted some serious replastering). I'd say the tenants never opened a window in their lives and there is no extractor fan in the bathroom. If they are in the habit of taking laundry into the rooms to dry it would not be long causing serious mould. The bath and toilet - while seatless - are clean and the living room seems to be ok. Its pure ignorance of how to look after a building.
A relative in England has a couple of similar houses that she rents out. Very well maintained and good tenants generally, but one of them was told repeatedly that she should not leave racks of laundry in a bedroom with the windows and door closed. Then she complained about mould in that room!
I had a tenant once in an apartment which had both a window AND an extractor fan in the bathroom (highly unusual), and who managed to do a similar job on it - it was literally black walls and ceiling all over - it was utterly revolting! I thought I was going to have to strip the plaster, but the decorator to do a great job with just cleaning and painting.
Has a similar problem with a tenant. Bedroom was all mould. They were literally living in the bedroom as they did not want to pay for heating any other room. They were in that bedroom all day unless they were outside the house.
I think the agent is completely on the money in 5 photos. My guess is they have one instruction from the vendor - get rid of this house. Why waste their own time arranging viewings only to have prospective buyers walking out on sight of that. You cant hide that shite - this way only serious buyers are going to be calling.
Yes, let’s call it a contractor special.
"Did not want", yeah, sure that ingrate was getting takeaway coffees and avocado toast every day.
I thought this might belong here. A full scale Swiss chalet...in London!
Link to the listing. Not enough pics imo, disappointing
The TimeOut article says it is on sale for 3.5M. The sothebys link says 2M. The articles mentions that 5M was spent on renovations in 2014. they must be losing their arse on it.
No it was cocaine was the issue. Discressonary spending what did I tell you.
"Become the Jay Gatsby of London!" Tell me you only watched the trailer of The Great Gatsby without saying you only watched the trailer.
2m for that size of property & location in London, with river access, seems underpriced?
IIRC, Mick Jagger lives/lived on a house on Hampton Court road
Have you looked inside the place? It's poxy inside. Not much better than a shed inside in my opinion.
Bought my first place when I gave up the avo toast for a year. Surprised that I hadn’t thought of it earlier, sure aren’t all the latte and avo toast merchants living in mansions since they make so much selling it.
It is awful inside and would cost a fortune treating and maintaining all that wood. Grade II listed too so that's another headache along with the knee pain from all the steps.
See all the two story house boats. I also agree it doesn't look the best inside. Also all the talk about the beach and they don't even show it.
What's the story with the hole in the ceiling over the bath?
I think it has great potential but not for that price.
Plus the amount of steps, you wouldn't grow old in that house for sure!
The beach is under the grill I believe. Not sure why…..
I'm not sure about the curtains at all, but the house is lovely with beautiful grounds.

Don't think this has been posted before. Shame it is so close to the road and no decent garden.
Oh I remember that stone table/island!!! Ripe for braining yourself on or giving yourself a dead arm!
Love the house, though - especially the WHB in the bathrooms, a real sense of flair there.
Gorgeous.
This is lovely.
It was posted maybe 12 months ago (at a guess), there was much discussion about the odd patches on the balcony floor and the altar type thing in the kitchen. This must be a new posting though, there seems to be a good few more photos. Its very attractive, but the points GavPJ makes about the road and the garden are very relevant.
I randomly came across this on twitter
A cool half mill for a mobile home in Louth 😳
I wouldn't expect that in Brittas Bay!!
They must be on drugs!! half a mil for a caravan!! 😲
😂🤣 That is dreadful - truly awful. How can they possibly think they will get €495,000 for that.
I know!!
The tweeter said they'd checked with the estate agent if they'd accidentally put an extra 0 on by mistake, but no, that was the asking price 🤣
