so was at the cinema yesterday. ordered what i thought was a large drink and popcorn. the popcorn still the same size but now they give you what is a considerably smaller cup that you have to fill yourself. heres the deal tho - you can refill it as much as you want! like, great - but im gonna miss 4 or 5 minutes of my movie everytime. tried it yesterday and there was a queue too. ffs, its a crap idea. what was wrong with the big cup - the profit margin on them is huge anyway

I would make a point of not going to that cinema anymore. The only reasons to leave in the middle of a film is a: you can't hold it any longer, and b: you're leaving. Please tell me it's not one of the main chains?

I'm an Odeon man myself. Well, when I go these days. Used to nearly be weekly. I'll have to pop into the local Omniplex and ask if that's the way they have it too.

I'm assuming it's because loads of people want the large popcorn but a normal drink, so leave behind hapes of fizzy pop which gets thrown into a plastic bag, only to bust and spill everywhere creating more work for the staff.

Here is an idea. Maybe you suggest they put the machine with the drinks in every cinema screen or even in the hall into the screen if there is one. Then you can refill and not miss as much. I woukd say they are hoping that with this people will come and watch the same movie two or three times to see the bits they missed. .it might backfire on them do if people start to bring there in drinks.

I used to love going to Odeon but ita gone too expensive. 16 Euros for a film on bargain day crazy. I can see 3 films for that price elsewhere.

John Wick 4 is well worth going to the cinema for if you love pretty dumb action movies. Which everyone should love.

I am thinking about buying an old style Cinema in Dublin and converting it into a US street Pornographic den of inequity. I am calling it " Das PufF kino" in honour of the German adult movie industry.

I have made enquiries about the Stella in Rathmines. It would be good to get all the people of Dublin 6 to enjoy Porn in a more communal environment, as opposed to sitting alone in the dark watching more exclusive deranged scat they would prefer not to share with anyone.

We are not planning to sell rehydrated soft drinks out of undersized cups either. If they want a drink they go to the pub like everyone does, in fact I will most likely have a small cafeteria area for Porn aficionados and Alickadoos to congregate in and discuss their current favourite scenes and sexual themes.

I am excited.

There is already enough shîthousery going on in cinemas…. Talkers, munchers, open bag rustlers, whatsappers, morons filming the screen and each other, repeat toilet visitors….Without multiple people being enticed in addition to be making multiple return trips to the shop in the lobby during a film. Be better off having a 6 minute intermission.

drinks and snacks are always cheaper in your local spar or centra, so just bring a small cooler bag.. have everything you need, sit, watch and enjoy.

the reason they want you to return to fill your drink which costs them small number of cents is so you might procure extra snacks…which makes them reasonable profit.
