There probably has been surveillance but I suppose they don't want to precipitate themselves. I imagine they'll leave that plotline for the end of this season and into the third. Seems like those detectives have a lot on them already and they're just letting the Kinsellas dig their graves at this point. The Kinsellas aren't very smart.

Are you watching the same episode as me, Bren wants Kem murdered because he's a rat. Kem gets into car with Bren's henchmen, the would be assassin or executioner is sitting in the back seat, Kem is sitting in the front seat. Is that any clearer now. :)

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

She's amazing..looking. Acting not so much. But she's not that much worse than many other Irish actresses and it's a relatively minor role so..meh. The Turkish lady isn't much better either.

Maybe she isn't worse, maybe she is. I cut her some slack as it's her first acting gig but jaysus her acting is dreadful. She is very pretty though.

She's not good, at all. But to be honest a lot of the actors on Kin are pretty bad. I enjoy it well enough despite that though. I wouldn't be under any illusions that it's the next Sopranos or anything but it passes the time for an hour or so each week. Bren is a very good addition.

Another good episode but do we need to see more of the Pharmacist flirting with Micky vice versa

So will the priest and Frank become best mates ?

Don't think Kem will be killed but can see something happening with Anthony that will bring tension between Amanda and Bren too boiling point

meh that's where I disagree. I enjoy the main cast and I would say that they're all pretty good actors (gillen, Kennedy, magee, cox, Dunne). So if most of the cast is bad then she is really bad. It's decent tv and is miles ahead of the first season that's for sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,157 ✭✭✭Pentecost

I'll give you Magee alright definitely. Plus Kennedy and Cox up to a point. Not mad on Gillen in this and don't think Clare Dunne is great either. But each to their own, that's just my view.

I can definitely why you think dunne isn't that great. I just think she has a pretty strong screen presence but she is far from the best actor in the show. Gillen I can also see, I wasn't really into his performance in the first season but this second season I like that he's taken on a more supportive role, where the character is questioning himself, it's a subtle performance that I've enjoyed thus far. It's much different from a lot of other things I've seen him in. I've really enjoyed Magee and Kennedy though.

Season 4 gets the green light.

I thought Viking & Anthony picked up Kem in a Toyota Avenis? Whereas Viking's normal car is a BMW 3 series.

Definitely better this season. Bren has added a bit more grit and i hope he stays around because he is a believable villain. I dont mind Aiden Gillen in it either but i find Jimmy and Michael to be pointless. The actor who plays Michael is a good actor and his Irish accent is good.....but his character has absolutely no edge to him at all. He's quiet unbelievable. Emmet Scanlan (Jimmy) is just terrible. Id normally recommend him for Fair City but they have enough problems.

I can see Gillens character ( Frank ) pulling a surprise hit , maybe on Brin? , Nikita told him he’s “ fcuking useless “ last night, a character that obviously useless usually delivers a surprise to everyone

I think that's what it's building up to as well. His storyline is getting kind of repetitive though. We've known that he's useless since the first season, they need to make him do something useful.

Viking doesn't want to kill Kem, Anthony seems to have mixed feelings about crime in general and I reckon Amanda will warn Kem by sneaky text, despite Michael warning her not to.

He'll do a runner from the car.

I wonder what will happen when Nuraya finds out her cousin has been making allies with a Dublin gang (the guy who was running the creche). I get the impression that was done without her permission and is possibly a power play on his part?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,743 ✭✭✭Princess Calla

I got the impression that she's very much aware that her cousin is up to no good. The call to her dad "the hunter among wolves" or something to that effect and her crying....she's gonna bop him off I think.

Yes season 2 has been really good. But season 1 was watchable but had lots of cr@p in it too, and was rightly questioned. I’m glad it has redeemed itself, and although it is good, for me it’s still not as good as love/hate, as it’s just not as scummy as l/h was.

I don’t think the plan is for the young lad to shoot him from behind in the car?? I thought he was just being taken along for the introduction to it, and Viking ‘has’ to be the shooter to pay off his mistake of bringing the rat in. Unless they want the young lad to get in the practice b4 going for Glen.

In terms of entertainment, S2 is like a different show.

I think you will see the Turkish daughter and Amanda working together too. I think there's a level of mutual respect there. Amanda is sticking to her side of the deal - building trust.

I think he’s depressed, presumably he wasn’t always so ineffective?, the words he used “ I’m not sorry for anything I did “ when talking to the priest suggest he was a prominent figure at one stage and plans to be again?

I hope Kem survives, seems a decent sort and not a bad actor

Bren hugged Birdie and she looked so uncomfortable and anxious . I felt a dread that he was going to abuse her

No mention of Bren's wife or daughter (Michael and Jimmy's sister) yet, and that family tree has been knocking about since Season 1

He's definitely depressed and traumatized for sure. I suppose he wasn't always so ineffective given how long he led the family. I don't think the show did a good job of making us believe he survived that long as the leader despite being so weak. Nevertheless, I could see a world where he ends up repenting for his sins and just leaves the family. I could also see him stepping up again because Amanda might have to keep her head down because of her trial. Either way, I hope they do something interesting with the character.

So why did Glen’s mom have free shopping in the supermarket?? Is there a story behind that or we just assume Glen’s gang has something over or intimidated the shopkeeper who was standing by watching.

That scene just seemed totally out of whack with the rest of the episode. What was it all about? Nicely framed though, filmed from the trolley.
