The king is dead, long live the king.
Only 102 days to lights out for 2023..
Im sorry π
He has a podcast with Billy Monger called Lift the Lid if you value his opinion.
Apt title. I'm picturing a toilet lid.
Think this will be Verstappen's year again, don't see anyone catching him
People keep talking about the wind tunnel restriction but i dont think it will have as much of an affect as people think
Someone told me it actually gets very warm in a wind tunnel.
Personally I think it's just a load of Hot Air.
With the level he is at, and how the car is, it would be hard to see past him winning again.
Yeah he's fast and not making many mistakes. His only competition should be Perez but maz has him in his pocket.
It's more about the constructors and drivers battles down the grid. Championship are in the bag for Max and RB. The last 2 seasons WDCs were well above average. Can't really complain about a bad championship battle this year.
I just hope we dont have total domination for a few years again. We need the others to step up. Red Bull are just really on the ball at the moment.
Agreed. We are probably in for a few crazy races at some point and I do think the gap will close to RB, but only once they are far off in the distance in both championships.
The battle for the best of the rest is great (although I do hate that term generally). I fancy Alonso to keep producing some magic as he has been, AM already have more points this year so far than 2022 in total.
The way Max doesn't win the championship is if he goes completely off the boil for the rest of the season, Checo isn't good enough to challenge him properly
Whilst Checo is a brilliant racer and completely saved max's first WDC, I dont think he has the consistency in him to be a WDC. I'd love to see Alonso and Aston Martin be in the title fight this season but for some reason I just can't see it happening.
This 4 week break sucks. Is there any other racing this weekend that I can watch?
Aintree?
I have the scalextric set up if you want to call around.
Depending on my mood, I may even let you have a go.
Hi guys,
I have an F1 holiday for sale (can't go with the Mrs due to give birth) to the Italian GP.
No idea where to go to advertise it for sale? Where would the best place to get eyeballs on it from F1 fans?
Sorry If I am derailing this thread or posting in the wrong thread.
I'll go around. I hope you don't mind getting beaten.
MotoGP this weekend.
I've been rewatching the 2016 season, Rosberg on his day was quite mega.
No no, you can come but just to make the burgers! π
Great idea! While your chomping on the burgers, I'll pinch one of your motorbikes. Vroom! Vroom!
And I'll hunt you down on another one.
F**k the Scalextric, let's take it to lifesize race π
Forget about it grandad, nobody beats me.
Thats all I hear all my life. π
Yes he was Mega that season anyway. I always thought it was such a pity he did not do the 2017 season. Surely he wanted to drive the new bigger cars or maybe not. Maybe he was right to finish after that season.
I see eye catching headlines galore this weekend. Damon Hill giving it the big'ne about how stroll needs to end Alonso's career and then leave Aston Martin to make it. Also suggesting Max needs to retire because he's not enjoying himself. And Jonny Herbert talking about Hamilton moving to Ferrari. I didn't click on the articles because they're not worth supporting with clicks.
Paper never refused ink. I'd believe nothing I hear during this break in races.
Saw some of those and like you didnt bother reading them, saw some online petition heading (maybe old or new) with over 80,000 signatures for Verstappens first championship to be removed and given to Hamilton.
There's normally plenty of racing on youtube likes of GT,Endurance, British racing series or motorsport tv is pretty good and not too expensive either
I say he dodged a bullet by retiring considering it was unlikely to ever get better than that. The mental toll that season took must have been extreme and the team dynamic seemed skewed towards Hamilton.
Wont be considered one of the greats but went out on top, which enough of the greats donβt do.
ie: like Hamilton so. He should have retired two years ago when he was on Too.
A lot of people consider him a great I just consider him lucky and in the right place at the right time.
That first season was very impressive and was unlucky not to win it. Won it the second year and maybe could have won more with a better car in the immediate years after. Best drivers put themselves in a position to drive dominant cars so maybe it evens out.
Maybe his career will peter out but can see why he kept going the last couple of years.
I loved Schumacher, had a dominant car for many of the seasons himself. He had a massive drive in Interlagos when Alonso won the title in 2006 and Schumacher retired. The Mercedes comeback had moments but that was it.
