Same order Jan 14th. No VIN, no hidden VIN. Odd
It would appear so.
So I thinking all of us with vin is uk stock and the ones without will get a vin when a boat hits the Suez Canal then all ship over in one boat saving them money instead of two or 3 boats from the uk.
That’s a good theory as the guy I spoke to this afternoon mentioned about the surplus stock in the UK and could be linked to the fast VIN assignments.
he reckoned for me to sit tight on my spec as he still expects I will get a delivery in Q2
The above would assume some level of competence and common sense by Tesla and therefore is very unlikely to me.
My guess is, those of us who ordered early and had our order agreements removed from accounts for some reason (told by Tesla would come back when VIN is assigned) have actually had our orders put in some sort of dead zone where VIN can’t be assigned and therefore will get skipped by order made in recent weeks.
Same here. Ordered before 9am on the 13th January. Black on black. No VIN hidden or otherwise. Still April - June Estimated delivery.👀
You were quick to the races. Couple others on here who ordered that spec on 13th Jan who got VIN weeks ago - pre Firesale stuff.
Perhaps they were pre-9am but seems unlikely. Sounds like you’ve likely been skipped.
My order agreement also disappeared. MY RWD black/black ordered 27 Jan.
Yeah, that is odd. I have a VIN, MY LR. Ordered RWD in late 2022 and changed to LR on Jan 16th (just double checked) . Maybe my original RWD order date had a influence there.
Happened me a few days ago, returned within hours.
Happened to me a few weeks ago and never returned!
Has anyone done much research on alternatives to Model Y? Had determined it seemed best value but didn’t do much research as to next best. ID4? Kia EV6? IONIQ?
At this stage id prefer my money to go directly to Putin than to Tesla.
I drove the ioniq 5 twice. To get similar range and performance with a 77kw battery it’s on the road price is about 54k. So it’s a nice comfortable drive not thrilling like the MY and the cabin is nice, styling is cool but it was just the price difference that swung me to MY
Exact same spec. changed a RWD to a LR on Jan 14. No VIN - EDD still Apr - Jun 2023
I went from an ID4 to a MY so have some insight. Ioniq 5 not really at the races TBH unless you like the looks. ID4 is a fine car despite the unwarranted drubbing it gets here. Pound for pound though, EV6 probably the pick given its standard spec closest to the MY. Given pricing and availability though, all may not be so equal and the ID4 could win out.
I'm telling you something though, I miss the ID4 suspension driving the MY! Bang, crash, rumble...
EV6 definitely closest alternative but obviously more expensive and hard to get a the moment. Residuals likely to hold up better than Tesla and customer service/warranty will surely be better. After that, it’s between a 77kWh ID.4 and Enyaq for me. Both are costly with big spec added to them.
No alternative can compete with the SC network but it’s only relevant if you’re likely to regularly use it.
Ordered same car 15th January and have heard nothing except EDD changes from Feb-March to July-Aug and back now to Apr-June!!
Sold my 201 car hurriedly in Feb in anticipation of getting Tesla then but now stuck with our 16 yr old Audi - which I love but not what we need right now
My Tesla patience running out if others are getting VINs but my order getting ignored!!
If a RWD would do range wise, order one in blue (black interior), people are getting VINs within minutes. If it doesn’t work out, it’s possible to get a refund. Whatever you do, don’t modify your current order.
That's my pretty much sums up my scenario too.
A Tesla will be my first EV, and I'm still very excited about it, however that is tempered at times by their unfathomable process of ordering and general lack of communication.
Maybe it's a future business model we'll all have to get used to.
Agree, can't fault anything on the MY, don't even miss thr parking sensors
But the suspension is hilariously bad. Comfort? Nope. Definitely need to do a one hour test drive if you're a prospective buyer, you will notice driving over the smallest pebble. And the back of the car will sound like someone crashed in to you.
And this is a two week old MY
That's the scary thing - this is the revised 'comfort' suspension. What must have the earlier suspension been like - flaming Nora! And this is coming from someone who can never notice differences in suspension and steering they talk about in reviews....
Yep was driving a RWD over the weekend and I remember thinking .. "if this is the comfort suspension what was it like before!"
Question in case anyone knows.... so on 4th April Tesla sent me my "final trade in offer" , I accepted it and it asked me to up load the logbook. All done and dusted and trade in amount has been deducted from my final amount due. BUT my EDD is still Apr-Jun I've no VIN. It says the offer will stay as is for 30 days, but If I don't get a delivery within 30 days does it just go back to the start and I end up with a lower trade in when I eventually do get a delivery? ....Such a messed up process. Order was RWD White M3 back in Feb.
If your delivery is after 30 of receiving trade in you will be asked to refresh it .... revised milage etc and a new trade in price will be provided......could go up or down as this is dependent on market conditions and essentially Tesla pass your details to the other car traders that they use and solicit quotes, the highest of which h is passed to you (with a 30 day validity period)
I figured that was the case :( No chance I'll get it before 4th May
You may be lucky . Tesla had a policy of withholding trade-in values until customers were within a month of delivery so sending you the tradein on April 4th might just be indicative of expectations of a delivery within the relevant period. Fingers crossed
Why do you think that this order has been skipped?
I notice the Polestar 2 hasn't been mentioned. Delivery within two weeks for an available car. They have every combination available on their website. Excellent car and a brilliant company to deal week both online and in Sandyford. A few mentions of it being small inside on here but live with one and it's plenty big. Standard range single motor is the pick of the bunch if you don't require a high mileage battery. 473km wltp.
Not a clue, your guess is as good as mine!
UK Inventory looks fairly bloated at the minute, I see over 30 RWD MY's with between 1,000 and 3.000 miles for sale currently. Would they be returns or Demos or a combo?
