Most of the demo Model Yβs in Sandyford had parcel shelves fitted or thrown in the boot but theyβre pretty flimsy and cheap looking.
Went into Sandyford yesterday and was told ordering would likely see a delivery date of end of April early May.
By mid-afternoon had ordered a MY RWD White on White - within a couple of hours had a VIN assigned (75) and delivery date of 25th April-10th May showing in app. Having only come across this board last night and hearing of some of the delays etc, is this a realistic delivery date or a late April Fools on their part?
Their dates change more then the weather at times.
Until you get a pick up date everything is an estimate. A lot of us had estimates of Feb March and then switched to June-September estimates to switch back to April-June. In other words they have no clue and whatever they say is not something to rely on. And then we have the support lines π€£
If you have a VIN there is a car assigned to you but I would be guessing probably later in May than they predict based on my own experience of order 2 cars from them in the last year
Wow lucky u, I ordered last Wednesday a MY RWD grey/black and no sign of a VIN for me.

Change to another combination that you can live with, might be able to get one with VIN quicker. Since you only ordered last Wednesday, not much to lose anyway to give it a go
Im is the same boat. Well Hopefully our cars are on the way! Ordered same spec on Jan 18th; no hidden VIN yet.
I ordered MY RWD grey/white on tues and got a VIN right away. Definitely try other combinations if you're not too fussed on colour.
Hi all - I am waiting on MYLR ordered 15th January and see some people who ordered 13th January are starting to get VINS - so perhaps there's is hope yet.
When searching for VIN in source code what are you using to search - i.e. 'VIN' or an expected string of characters?
Ordered today. Blue/black RWD and got VIN within 5mins
LRW in the source code. You'll get a load of hits for VIN... as in self driVINg. All Chinese made vins start with LRW.

wow i am tempted now to change, spoke to a Matthew guy at Tesla in Sandyford on the phone. Really nice guy so i may sit it out another few days with the Silver colour and switch to Blue if no update on the VIN
How did you manage to talk to someone in Sandyford on the phone?
I checked the source for my order and found a VIN - 17 characters long, starting with LRW and ending in 711.
Have I won a prize? π
did the delivery date change from Apr-Jun ?
Still Apr - June.
Last time I checked for a VIN was last week and it wasn't there.
The vin will appear in the main account within a week or so.
How do you check the source code ?

Open your account in chrome.
Go to manage your order.
Ctrl + U or download the Tesla vin finder extension for chrome
I have found interesting things in the source code. The JSON blob contains lots of interesting information around original delivery dates, etc.
Has anyone any experience in validating this info?
If you right click on the browser window there will an option to "inspect source code" or something similar. Clicking this show the HTML i.e. the code of the web page. It's all text. You can then search this text.
Do you mind share when did you order and the configs?
i ordered end of Jan and still pending VIN
We ordered Feb 16th. MYLR Black/Black.
VIN decoder tells me its left hand drive (which is weird) and that it was built in 2022.
VIN decoder said my car was a six seater π€£ After careful examinations it's definitely a five seater!
Thanks I am on a Macbook and its administered by my work so i have installed the exentsion but i cant see the source code...but when i load my order page i dont see a pop up so i assume that means no hidden VIN either
It kind of shows the trend that Tesla wants to push out more Model Y sales than Model 3. I haven't seen any M3 buyer getting a quick VIN assignment.
