Not feeling this one so far. I see it's getting a lot of sympathy votes elsewhere though on account of the topic.
Lex Aterna was actually decent. They should just write a trash album of that style, short snappy tunes, they can't put out these 6 min plus songs anymore the quality isn't there.
Way I see Screaming Suicide is, while the lyrics are from a first person perspective, it could also very well be James (after the rough time he's had personally) way of saying that hey, I’ve had these thoughts too, they’re nothing to be ashamed about/please reach out if you have to.
I mean he used even spoke about suicide onstage during a performance of Fade To Black last year.
Didn't really like it to begin with but it kinda grew on me, especially the second half of the song. Nice riff running through it.
In saying that if these are the two strongest songs from the album, i'd be disappointed.
Bunch of moaning michaels in here..I think it's great and great to have a new Metallica song to listen to. Best band in the world...
They haven't been the best band in the world in about 30 years, since Load its all just middling stuff they are putting out. Couple of decent numbers here and there but nothing you'll be replaying 20 years from now.
Decent new tune. For metal lads turning 60 this year.
Their age is no excuse. Look at the likes of Voivod, Killing Joke, Swans, still crushing it in their auld age
Gonna stick this up here, if no takers I'll be putting it on adverts next week, not actually got it yet, on the way with a few more vinyls I've ordered.
Justice, Dyers Green Vinyl (2 discs), Walmart Exclusive Edition, unopened and still in seal with hype sticker.
€40 (Going on adverts for 45)
Anyone pick anything up from the Garage Sale, got Vans and Webster gigs on vinyl, didn't get Masonic as scared the others would be sold out by the time I checked out, happy out with them 2 though
Don't hate it. Hefield is doing a lot of interesting vocal things on these few tracks. Kirk needs someone to produce him a bit more
...i like it...
Grabbed a ticket for the listening party thing they're doing in cinemas. Be good to hear it with a decent sound system
25.05 a ticket for Blanch , jaysus
Jesus, I thought it was steep in Stillorgan at 20
...bout the same here, i ll have to think about it, tis steep enough
No sign of a 72 seasons leak yet no?
When Hardwired leaked a week or so before release it was here I found it :P
Any links if it does would be appreciated amigos.
keeping an eye myself, no sign yet, reviews starting to turn up, so surly it ll be leaked soon....
Maybe it hasn't leaked because they are kinda put out small bits and pieces as they go?
from glancing at some of the reviews, i get the idea some have full access to the whole album, i could be wrong though
These days the record companies bring the reviewers to an office to listen to it,rare that copies are sent out and increase the risk of it leaking. It'll start being shipped to shops next week so it'll leak by midweek at the latest I reckon.
There is a site called hasitleaked.com.
Apparently albums that leak are mentioned there quick sharp. Nothing there yet.
Read some reviews though, some giving the album 8 out of 10...5 out of 10.
Looking forward to it regardless though. It won't be like the old stuff naturally. The 11 minute long track I'm looking forward to hearing. I hear the "you must burn!" track is meant to be a belter.
Love the spectacle of listening to a new Metallica for the first time. Wish they'd bring out something new more than every 5 to 8 years.
Probably a dumb question, but will the album be available on Spotify on Friday too?
Yeah,it'll be available on all streaming platforms first thing Friday.
Cheers
i like the idea of them buying the record factory, nice idea
apparently....
anyone find it?
edit: tis on getmetal folks, just listening now
edit: tis starting to pop up else where now....
Any good?
ah so so, i think significantly lowered expectations is the only way to approach such albums nowadays, their groundbreaking days are long past them, some nice moments, but id have to agree with some, they really struggle with self editing, some songs are elongated for no reason, but i ll hold off on the slating for now, i need more listens to truly comment....
Where else?
