Well with everyone putting in 3 orders they've a lot of cancellations to process. Do the crime pay the time 😜
Got another text today. This one sounds less promising than the one I got yesterday. One of my cars must be closer than the other (although i have VINs for both and edd 19th april - may 4).
Yesterday's one
I have also received the same message just right now, Have you got your VIN in your account?
Yup. Have had it since ordering a few days ago.
Great, but my account doesn't have any VIN records yet. So I assume it must be a mistake they have sent me this text.
Jesus that is a rollercoaster for sure. Not for the faint hearted and about as far away as you can get from the old style dealings with a bricks and mortar salesman!
Glad the MY RWD is treating you well too. Best of luck with it!
I got a text from Tesla that my delivery may be held back if I can’t get my trade-in NCT-ed (don’t have a VIN yet and haven’t gotten a trade in quote yet)
I have an appointment on May 2nd and have looked multiple times, but can’t get anything sooner.
Could this be holding up me getting a VIN? Am I better off cancelling the trade-in?
Got it last night. Vin on the account. Original order from 14/01 changed on Tuesday to Blue/black from black/black rwd. Standard wheels
So over on the TMC forum Mr.Miserable has confirmed that the Grand Champion is loaded up and about to leave Shanghai for Europe. Estimated to dock in Zeebrugge on May 6th… there’s still hope!! 🤞🏻. Also another poster confirmed that in Manchester Tesla collection there’s nearly 300 cars just sitting there and similar story in other collection points around the UK.. madness 😢
the 1st shipment in April is from UK .. vin is showing Jan/Feb production and it wont be kept for that long in China
hopefully this 2nd shipment is delivered here by mid May
Another price drop coming?
Doubt it. That would prompt another letter to the CCPC, overturning any potential firesale...I think Tesla have learned from this experience.
By all means during the non-delivery times of the calendar when one year transitions into another, but not while genuine customers are in the middle of collecting regular-priced cars.....Jesus folks.

Cancelled the RWD 5 days before collection at the end of March and went all in on the LR. Still believe we will get it in June.
“Delivery numbers for X/S are a bit troubling,” wrote Ross Gerber, longtime Tesla bull and CEO of fund manager Gerber Kawasaki. “Even with price cuts they seem to have lost the high-end customers this quarter.”
Imagine being a high-end customer looking for a 6 figure+ car and dealing with Afolabi and Eddy on chat taking it in turns to lie to you…
Does this mean that we will get allocated some of the excess cars sitting around the likes of Manchester collection centre ?How long are they sitting there ?My Vin showing January production so makes sense. You would hope they are not cars already rejected by UK customers.
Cars rejected by UK customers will always have been registered, so can't be resold as new, there or anywhere else.
I wonder if Tesla deliver cars to the UK but never assign or register them and just have them sitting in inventory...Will they have actually paid any duty at that stage?
If not, it would make sense that they can just take them back out of the UK and send them to Ireland instead and just pay the normal fees here...
The vehicles originated in Shanghai and not the UK, they'd be just passing through the UK so in my understanding, wouldn't be subject to UK/Brexit related Duty and fees other than what's due on Jap imports...
Yes makes sense.I have heard from a reliable senior taxation professional in Ireland that a customs broker can make light work of this .They manage getting a refund on the UK customs duty and paying the Irish.likely no UK VAT paid either if unregistered.
Does anyone have a link for a vin-finder that calculates production date?
The only ones I can find just calculate model, factory, motor.
plug your vin into that and it will analyse it for you.. All a Vin can disclose in terms of manufacturing date is "Model year" -- 10th character P=2023
Anyone out there get half kelly’d? I.e you get the email for cancellation but nothing at all changes on your order?
Shambles of a setup in the Sandyford premises would put most high-end customers off anyway.
What colour type 2 cables have people gotten in their new 2023 model Y's. It used to be a menkenes blue cable but mine is black, well made and heavy as a 3 phase 32amp but would of preferred a coloured cable for trip hazard.
Most seem to be black but mine is blue, Mennekes. 7.5m I think.
Me also.
Yes indeed. Still sitting in my account haunting me.
I've been reading back through your comments? You took delivery of a Model Y and are having some problems with it correct? Was the car in poor condition when you picked it up and what's the story with price increases after paying the deposit? I'm not a Tesla owner, just curious.
Here we go :)
Tesla has officially launched a new lower priced Model Y AWD variant in the US. Price reduction for MYLR and MYP.
• Model Y AWD: $49,990 (4680 model likely)
• Model Y LR: $52,990 (from $54,990)
• Model Y P: $56,990 (from $58,990
So I managed to grab this one from the New Inventory on Wednesday. Clearly shows no mileage and isn't listed as a Demo. To me, it appeared as a brand new, unregistered car.
Order Agreement lists the 5k grant and I got a chassis number and delivery date instantly.
With all the madness of what's going on, I decided I better just double check it's definitely a brand new car.
So, I am told it is a brand new car, however, it has already been registered and has 6klms on the clock, so never driven.
He couldn't tell me if or why it wasn't accepted by the original buyer, but suggested it could have been for financial reasons (doesn't make sense due to getting to the registering stage) he did tell me that there are no records of it being in the Tesla service centre.
Any thoughts? Should I just roll with it and hope for the best? I don't mind the pre reg tbh because it's still a brand new 231
