It's a huge house finished really badly and quite possibly built badly. Although it's 300k it still needs more money invested to finish it off properly. It's probably not a cheap house at all by the time it's actually finished.
Even finished it is a huge vanity hall with a pokey living room, a pointless dining room too far from the kitchen, and a lot of cheap finishes. The wood floor strips have distorted from looking at the photos, though they are very poor photos.
Also, after looking at Land Direct, the extent of the land is the small patch round it within the fence, that 1.65 acres is mostly the 300m drive. Its in the middle of a field, in the middle of nowhere.
It’ll cost you 300k to tarmac that drive!
They’d have a better chance of selling this if they included the field with it.

They should have either left it fully furnished, or cleared it out entirely. The middle ground just makes it look 10 times worse, and depressing.
These type of houses are ten a penny all over the country. What is in people's minds when they decide to build a huge tasteless mansion which they probably won't be able to a)furnish b)heat and c) sell?

There is'nt a room in that house that I wouldnt change - everything needs replacing. I think I would even have to knock walls as the rooms are just too small for the size of the house. It really is fur coat and no knickers
Yes, it ends up looking bad because it's neither empty nor properly furnished.
There's a lot of yawning spaces though where they are not needed and were possibly never furnished.

In fairness don't we all want a nice place to have family and friends over to and
be able to lock the gates and not let the outside world in! I actually like it but it is
in the wrong setting and as it was said, they would have been better off building
something smaller and finishing it completely. But who knows the circumstances
of why it is now for sale. Divorce, death, illness etc.
