Yep, they have forged for another grand on top too.
Than you 👍🏻
Yeah I would be happy with replicas once the quality is solid.
I bought the below ones cheap on Amazon. Seem to be fine.

My park assist always say unavailable hasn't work .I download the update for the park assist anybody else.
Make sure your cameras are clean. I ignore it completely. Drove on Saturday in lashing rain and it was unavailable most of the day. In dry conditions seems fine but useless. My parking is underground and it missed a big pilar. The car was 10 cm from it in the corner but the whatever the name of the assist is was reporting a big void. The cameras are a big help though
Anyone else on Android not got the option to allow the Tesla app to Access location all the time ? All I have is while using the app.

The good old AA saved the day
Apologies if this has been discussed previously but regarding tyres for a MY are there specific types for EVs or does it make a difference?
The RWD comes with these Hankook Ventus 255/45/R19 tyres:
Lots of different options available once you have the right size, load rating and speed rating.
There are 2 relevant issues with tyre choice for an EV. The most critical is rolling resistance which can affect efficiency and hence range. A secondary issue is noise which can be noticeable on an EV as they obviously have no engine noise. Some of the more expensive tyres have an inner foam liner to make them quieter. All new tyres have labelled ratings for such. An online retailer such as oponeo or tyreleader clearly show these ratings. A new set of the OEM tyres fitted from new might be a good choice but worth checking for improved models and better value. If you choose Chinese ditchfinders, expect to get what you paid for.
Was watching a video of a lady rant about things she didnt like about her MY in America
One of the things she said was that she had to buy expensive tyres from Tesla or Tesla would refuse to come out for a breakdown assist involving that tyre ( should there be bad damage not temporarily repairable by normal means)
What way does it work in Ireland for breakdown assist ?
Can you even buy tyres from Tesla here ?
I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
I had a blowout on the M50 in January (think I hit a piece of a ratchet strap) which tore the tyre open.
I contacted Tesla and they sent out a flat bed truck. They asked me if I'd like to be taken to a tyre garage or taken home. I chose to go home. Picked up 2 tyres online and had them fitted locally.
I'd say you "probably" could buy tyres direct from Tesla and get them fitted at the service centre but you'd pay through the nose for them.
Tesla emailing me asking me to sign an SEAI confirmation form, all legitimate?
Yes, that is standard as you need to sign it in order for them to submit the application.
Did that pre delivery, didn't expect to have to do it post. But ok
You already took delivery of the car, with the SEAI grant applied, and they are asking you to sign the SEAI form yet again? That is an odd one, for sure.
I'd reach out to them and ask what this is all about.
Will do thanks
Ahhh tesla..
You can bet it was probably misplaced, afaik they have 4 months to submit the paperwork. On the last round of deliveries they had agents from the UK and NI involved so good knows where your original form is
"You already took delivery of the car, with the SEAI grant applied, and they are asking you to sign the SEAI form yet again? That is an odd one, for sure."
New form is EV Transaction Completion form confirming you have taken delivery of the car. Needed in order to draw down the grant - previous form was Grant Application form.
Got this today too, car collected last week
Seems to be a confirmation of car collection rather than application so appears normal.
Friend collected MY from Browns Barn recently. Soft tyre alarm half way home. Made it home and pumped to 3.1.
Noticed tyre soft 2 days later. Pumped and same again.
Brought to tyre repair shop and guy said the tyre has a defect in the side wall and he regarded it as unrepairable and possibly dangerous.
Only 5 mins away so pumped and drove slowly home.
Described issue in Tesla app and told them potentially dangerous.
One week later Tesla eventually said drive to Tesla repair center or pay for a tow as outside of 50 miles (90 miles away) . Apparently they have no mobile tyre service. That 50 mile thing was a bit of an eye opener, guess that will be the same for all issues ?
Finally got round to giving the car a good wash and polish.
