As great as this re4 remake is it kind of takes away some of the great OTT set pieces/ cheesiness of the first and it almost ruins what made re4 great in the first place.
For what it's worth I still hold re4 VR ahead of the remake as the best version of the game
The car chase is brilliant!
This is where I’m leaning with RE4 remake at the moment too, although I’m not terribly far into it. It’s certainly a well made game that sands down the rougher edges of the original - but in doing so reminds you that the rougher edges were a big part of what made the original game work so well. Remake just feels a little too neat and tidy in comparison.
It doesn’t feel like it has its own take or spin on the material, unlike RE2 remake for example which does feel like it puts a fresh and interesting spin on the original material.
I downloaded Quantum Break on my series X 2 years ago . Never got around to it so I said better start it now that it's leaving Game pass . Have to say I love it , after act 1 anyways . Game looks great for 7 year old game .
Quantum break is a little gem. Plays great doesn't overstay it's welcome and does alot of things very well. It's not full of filler and for all the plaudits Max Payne and Alan wake get it's pretty much on par with them.
The TV show aspect may be a bit naff but does add some weight to your choices, worst part of it is Aiden Gillen
I just played Alan Wake there a couple of months ago and I thought it was terrible. I thought the story was awful and the gameplay was just irritating. I joked about the narration at the beginning being like Gareth Marenghi and it ended up being much worse than that because it took itself so seriously. It actually ended up being Alan Wake's Darkplace... I couldn't believe.
I persevered to the end because I enjoyed Control so much but it has aged like milk imo.
Ah yeah that's true although are any of those authors serious
(it's why dark place was so on point and holness was incredible in liberty Hall last week)
It's of its time agreed but all remedy stuff, narrative wise has always been verging on parody.
You can't beat a car chase.
I played the original a couple years ago on game pass & I loved start it but barely finished it cos last chapter was terrible . Iv played all the remedy games now ( I think )
I think Control could translate to a good movie.
And I came across this ...
A woman is imprisoned by a mysterious organization intent on testing her latent psychic abilities. This film is not based upon or associated in any way with the CONTROL® video game and franchise developed by Remedy Entertainment Plc.
And also this ..
TV show would be better I think, mystery of the week style.
From rogue one writer not filling me with confidence. The movie was ok and totally cliche. Don't get the love for it other than it being a star wars movie that didn't totally suck surrounded by sucky star wars movies.
Rogue One was the nail in the coffin for me with Star Wars. So, silver lining in every cloud as they say. 😁😁😁
That's gas, because I think the whole 9 main films are terrible, but Rogue One is good, in fact it's the best live action SW film. Far better than the original can't act trilogy, the trilogy no on talks about or the emo trilogy.
I never watched a Star wars film ever. I told some girl that once and she said they are shít.
Rogue One is pretty middling IMO, but it did give us Andor, the best Star Wars thing there has ever been.

Spaceballs is the best Star Wars movie 😁
Andor wasn't just a good Star Wars show. It was legitimately great show regardless of its resident universe or chosen genre. A barnstorming, nerve shredding story of the perversions and realities of living within a fascist world as it tightened the noose.
Really? It's one of my favourite star wars movies. Last Jedi too, says a lot that Disney weren't happy with the director Reese James or whatever his name is because he wouldn't do what he was told and Disney theme park the movie.
The problem with Rogue one was there was no danger, you know how it ends and which Characters will survive. Because of that I just couldnt of cared about it
I'd also played Star Wars: Dark Forces and stealing the Death Star plans in the first level was way more fun than the movie. I just found the whole movie badly written and added nothing to the lore. I suppose it's darker but some people equate darker to depth whereas the original trilogy has far more depth. It's been done so many times before and the whole character does a cool thing before dying heroically was so cliche.
Which might have been the problem with Andor, but the writing smartly made sure the titular character was surrounded by people we couldn't know the fate of. If the show had a flaw it might have been that Andor himself wasn't really much of a character, more of a slight passenger to events and people that involved him. But that constant worry and sense of when (say) Luthen might get caught only made things more tense.
Just FYI, you'll have another chance if you don't get around to it.
You really shouldn't base your opinion off what one person says.
I tend to believe her other wise I would have watched them. I was bored shítless in the Family Guy star wars special episodes.
I personally think if any film, tv show or game has a big fanbase everyone should at least read a few reviews before they decide.
I just freed some Alien queen last night in Mass Effect. She said she'd be good, but some other galaxy civilisation elder said her offspring would destroy the galaxy !
But hey, with great power comes great responsibility.
Started this tonight and said I'd stick it on for a half hour before bed. 2 hours later steam deck died (thankfully) otherwise id be up for a whole I am loving it, great progression system, lovely inventory management, nice and relaxing. Perfect game for steam deck and defo enough mystery to have me coming back.
I'm planning a clear out soon - the full suite of last gen consoles, some older handhelds like 3DS and Vita that have sat in a drawer for years, and some PC monitors & bits. Where's the best place to sell these days?
