Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Chilax man. Don't be so serious. Smile and enjoy yourself. 😀
Rice still remains, on the “possible” list for SFASH, as he is touring Europe-Asia/Oz, up until the end of July, including i note, 10 gigs in Italy alone on the current tour, and not a single Ireland gig so far.
Saw doctors announcing another irish show and us dates tomorrow.
He does a really short setlist. If you don't count the outdoor singing he does after some gigs
Curious to know where the Irish gig will be. Was raging I didn't get tickets for the Tuam gigs - I was logged into Ticketmaster and some lad walked into my office and distracted me.
Gaelic Grounds Limerick maybe if there doing a series of gigs
They'll hardly do another Galway one, with Tuam having 2?
I wonder did the initial response to the first gig prompt a second night, and the response to that prompt further gigs. Or was this always planned?
It's hard to know, what they'll do or where for that matter. It all seems to be drip fed and they don't seem to going on a 2"tour" per se. Just seems to a series of random gigs. They've already played and scheduled more gigs in the UK before the Tuam gigs were even announced.
Really hope to get to see them. A Saw Doctors gig is always a great night out.
You may be underestimating the popularity of Wet Wet Wet and in particular Mr Pellow back in the day
3 Arena will be packed to the gills with 50-something ladies, re-living their youth when Marti was their sex-god
Galway Arts Festival (Heineken Big Top) on Friday, 21st July. Tickets go on sale at 10am this Wednesday 5th April.
There was a big group of women in the row behind me at Elton John last week. They seemed very excited about the Marti Pellow gig.
Wet Wet wet?
Was hoping it might've been a bigger venue and there'd be plenty of tickets. Fingers crossed.
Edit: I reckon you might see a gig on the Sat night too. Looks like it's clear on the website.
Aiken just tweeted and swiftly deleted a tweet about Morrisey playing Vicar Street in July as part of UK and Ireland tour. Think it mentioned 2 gigs in Vicar Street
Posted on his Facebook here https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0ytFpMzHDWxrh3NWRzJ4S8RyRbzRkRLuqusKroN4JbgAVXr3ojpvuhaKXmVw295Eul&id=100044287126856
That'll be class to see Morrissey in Vicar St, will sell out in seconds I'd imagine
Aiken have since tweeted again confirming it https://twitter.com/aikenpromotions/status/1642923813825396741?t=GzoXo-3uDZMMdExeMaMg7Q&s=19
Oof. They'll sell out in 30 seconds.
He was in great form in Kilarney last September, i thought Aikens might have put him in the Marquee, he’s played there before, but dates may not suit.
Definitely an instant sellout
Been years since I've seen him but dates don't suit
'I know it's over' the last time he played Vicar Street is my all time favourite Moz memory. Followed by a raucous after party in the Clock. A great night. Alas his tragic Tommy Robinson/ Anne Marie Waters ramblings have ruined him for me. I'll hang on to the Smiths but I'll leave Stephen to the rest of ye. He'll no doubt put on a great show.
Codeine playing first ever Irish show in august
Now that's exciting news. Just before EP too. Happy days.
What's accessibility like around Fairview park before and after a concert?
What's parking and getting out of the area like?
Parking is pretty limited in the area, but public transit is easy. It's on the DART, there are multiple buses going there from city centre, and easy to get up to Fairview from Connolly station.
park at dart station and get dart in/out is recommended if driving in
Donnycarney church car park is a good option. 20 minute walk to the park in a straight line
It looks like Safetix, the changing QR codes Ticketmaster use in the US is now being rolled out in Ireland and the UK.
Changing QR code every 15 seconds and transfer is off for the order in particular, thats surely illegal.
Wheatus playing Whelans, Dublin and Limelight, Belfast in October https://twitter.com/hotpress/status/1643211776354287617?t=mbPLnC8iZC6tO_bp0qS33A&s=19
Noticed that for Hozier this week, seems ridiculous alright. They'll stand behind it being anti-touting, so there'll be no argument sadly
On the anti-TM subject, I checked a gig (Melts at The Workman's) and not only were the service fees more for TM than Gigantic but the face value of tickets was too, surely that's not right?
Yes its Hozier, bought some tickets but I'm sick now so cant go.
No issue with anti touting but legally it has to be announced up front if Transfer will be disabled. Just say Transfer will be disabled for this event.
You can't just move the goalposts after the transaction has been made.
