I predict we won’t hear the end of this soon in this environment of fearmongering about wokeism just as I predict it won’t advance the gun debate an iota.
Aged 28, she was a former student. It was a private church school. The motive is unclear. Median age of a school shooter is 16
State officials already extended (and defended) the traditional issuance of Thoughts and Prayers TM.
Married with kids last I checked. Given your low quality posts, I wouldnt be throwing stones if I was you.
This surprised me considering the amount of sh*te she comes out with. Horrible full stop!
Motivation is far and away the most important factor. The shooter apparently left a manifesto which implies they had an ideology, however evil or confused. How somebody was radicalised to the point that they murdered 9 year olds is important, because if that is not identified and interrupted that ideology is going to continue producing more shooters. If there had been an effort to do so at the time of the Colorado school shooting 4 years ago, perhaps this terrorist attack could have been prevented and the three children and three other victims would still be alive.
As for propensity to violent crimes, there is a very clear media driven narrative that trans are the victims of violent crimes rather than the perpetrators of it. It's further claimed that trans people are murdered precisely because they're trans. Its not too far from that point to start talking about self defence.
However, its not clear that the media claim of anti-trans hate motivating a wave of murders holds up to scrutiny. In the UK between 2008 and 2017 there were 7 murders of trans people. During the same time period, there were 12 murders carried out by trans people.
Further, where trans people were the victims of murder the motivations of the killer wasn't necessarily what the media narrative claims. One was murdered by a homeless drug addict with severe mental health issues who had been released despite pleading to remain in care. One was killed by their partner/pimp. One was killed by a drug dealer over a drug debt. One was murdered by two drug addicts who had stolen from them to feed their drug habit and continued to collect benefits in the victims name after their death. One was killed by another trans person who again had mental health issues and was convicted with diminished responsibility. One was a sex worker murdered by a client with a history of violent sexual assaults against sex workers. Another was also a sex worker, also murdered by a client who carried out a robbery at the same time. Its not clear in any case that the killer was motivated primarily - or even at all - by the victim being trans.
Gun ownership has been on the decline since the 70's. Yet mass shootings by youngsters is on the rise. Its the youth , they have changed.
The pressures of social media. Constant lies and propaganda promoting division and victimhood by msm , politicians, government agencies, corporations and school systems. Promotion of nihilism and lack of personal responsibility.
Biden's press secretary states the current administration sympathizes with the transgender community and not the Christian community who were just massacred. That rhetoric does nothing to untie a country in the wake of a tragedy. It only makes thing worse. This is why the youth are growing up with such hate for their fellow American.
Part of the problem is people with "underlying issues" can have access to these types of weapons. America's attitude to guns is of course the main problem. Dead children are not seen as an impediment to "the right to bear arms". To me that's **** insanity.
Oh brother.
All this talk about social media influence etc and here we are seeing users getting riled up by a 17 second clip from a far longer and rounded press conference.
Implying the shooter wasn’t Christian even though they were raised christian and educated Christian. That’s a stretch. It would be more accurate to ascribe it as “Christian on Christian violence”
Yes how dare the administration acknowledge what we all know: the right has turned the incident into an excuse to call for “vengeance” to be brought down on trans people in response to their own sockpuppets from bullshit accounts. The WH is well informed when there is a wave or spike in hate crimes and death threats. Tucker Carlson openly declared them the “natural enemy of Christianity” on his broadcast show this week. Does that rhetoric help? Does just supporting the Christian community help while it’s calling for vengeance and looking for enemies to fight?
I'll never understand it. Since Columbine there has been 175 killed in school shootings. Absolute insanity.
Since Columbine, 175 have been killed in mass shootings at schools | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
the right has turned the incident into an excuse to call for “vengeance”
You've been fed a bucket load of misinformation.
You’re getting at exactly my point actually. That’s their sock puppet and it’s what they used to proliferate their own brand of vengeance, Fox News hosts declaring transgenders the natural enemy of Christianity etc.
MTG was one of the accounts Twitter suspended and deleted for sharing it don’t you know.
A few quick questions: How many mass shootings have there been in the last 12 months un the US, how many were carried out with legally held firearms and how many of the victims of these shootings were children?
She also expressed sorrow for the victims "We want to express the President’s appreciation for the first responders and prayers for all the families affected by this shooting".
In terms of gun ownership, there is still more guns than people in America. I also suspect the type of weapons owned has dramatically changed since the 70s.
What studies reveal about gun ownership in the US | CNN
I see. Makes sense.
Google is right there
I don't remember political leaders reacting Dylann Roof's murders by saying their hearts went out to the White community, that White people were under attack then. Don't recall thoughts and prayers being offered for the backlash against the White community when George Floyd died. That would have been outrageous, right?
It's outrageous here too.
Reach harder 🤣
To your first question, a quick Google suggests 647 mass shootings in 2022 and 131 so far in 2023, using a definition of mass shooting as meaning where four or more people are killed or injured. That's certainly more than enough to be demonstrative of a problem which requires robust action.
To your second question, I don't know, but I don't think that really matters. Whether guns are held legally or otherwise, it's clear that the regulation of guns in the US (or lack thereof) seems to rather easily allow guns to fall into the hands of people who should not have them.
Third question, again I don't know. Google suggests 415 kids / teens this year alone so far in gun-related deaths, 39 instances of gunfire on school grounds and 17 deaths on school grounds.
All of these answers point to a major societal problem. I've heard all the gotchas before on this one or comparisons to road deaths in Europe and whether we should also ban cars etc etc etc etc. Have yet to hear a compelling gotcha though.
Because when Boggles isn't posting nonsense on here for 23 hours per day he is off making love to victoria secret models 😜
Slight hint of irony?
Either way I certainly wouldn't be watching content designed for people who believe Bill Cosby is a victim and if I was that inclined I certainly wouldn't be linking to it.
But sure fill your boots. 👍️
That very short clip was from a briefing titled Statement from President Joe Biden on Transgender Day of Visibility.
It was not the entire transgender community that did the shooting, the perpetrator's act may have been totally incidental to their transgender status, but that is the only aspect being considered. It seems certain that they had mental health issues, that does not prove that the entire transgender community - or even a significant number of them - has mental health issues, it also does not prove that anyone with mental health issues is going to shoot up a school.
What is certain is that if these individuals had not been able to so easily obtain guns they would not have been able to go in shooting.
Perhaps you should find out before you start putting forth about making all guns illegal.
You asked a question you could have googled, they answered.
It is you who doesn’t know Jack all.
Children showed up at the Tennessee capital and seemingly shut it down for gun control. Politicians seen escorted out by law enforcement
Now that he has provided you with stats do you think all guns should be banned or what is your opinion on what should be done?
A good few posts back (I cant seem to locate it now)there was a link to an interesting video from a gun enthusiast who demonstrated guns that were legal in America in 60s and 70s that were high powered but in those years they had less spree killers than now. It is not an easy solution as it seems in recent years bad people with grudges are targeting and killing the vulnerable in their community in churches or schools to get back at society.
Very strange reply.
"Because it is an incredibly accurate description" Well, that says absolutely nothing.
Also, why did you ask if it "hurt my feelings"? Do you think that's a mature response?
At one of that Transurrections in the US, progressives are letting the crazies define the brand
7 is the amount of guns she owned also.
She isn't a victim, either way.
It's an extremely peaceful anti slaughter of children protest.
Edit: For Accuracy.
Nonsense. They're specifically shouting that every death is a tragedy, that there was seven victims, etc.
I edited my post. She certainly wasn't a victim.
Her death is tragic though, certainly for her loved ones.
But again living in a country where someone of not sound mind can accumulate 7 weapons and use those weapons execute children and the innocent is the price to be paid for "Freedom". 🤷♀️
By all accounts the evil ideology she took on meant she had largely alienated herself from her family despite living at the family home. If they mourn her, it will be for who she was before she was radicalised - not what she became.
She lived in a country where a trans person can murder 9 year olds and the reaction of the White House is to say their hearts go out to the trans community at this difficult time.
That's not how grief works.
the evil ideology she took on
What evil ideology?
