so to sum up we have cork and Dublin showrooms saying yep its a mistake and people will be contacted, we have contact centre advising they haven't heard anything.
Hard to know what's correct, you'd kind of think the Irish staff might be but then again.... they'd get a new season of true detective out of it.
So it ok to get robbed of 5k because you miss a sale.

Which countries did you see that for? Most of the current discounting that I can see is of cars that are in stock, are demo vehicles, and/or the discount is 5% or less.
happens me every January.
As Elon said if the price went up would you send him a cheque.

It’s unfortunate but that’s life. Things go on sale. I bought a tv yesterday for 799 and today Harvey normal have a “once off” sale and it’s 599. Tough sh1t on me.
If the alternative to writing a cheque was handing the car back instead of paying the increase, they'd have a lot of cars in inventory.
And most importantly UK where the cars are coming from with the same discount!
Some people think that customers in Ireland should pay full price for the same discounted Q1 stock in UK just to make recent buyers happy 😂

People are always going to be salty when a sale like this happens.
I also think thats why this gained so much steam today, the majority want the sale to be fake and for us to pay the same.
Yet, no one has gotten a call. Support say no cancellations via chat and email (Gumbo mentioned).
We are going into the weekend now and no one is going to ring us on Sat/Sun so this goes till Mon and we wonder still.
It's all just not adding up.
The Sterling - Irish argument is a crock of shíte and any Tesla employee trying to pull that one should be called out on it. This screenshot I've got from the firesale shows the pre-discount list price to be the correct Irish list price.
I'm getting the feeling Tesla know they've cocked up and this morning they hoped they could get away with it by calling everyone and bluffing it out. But they now realise that the 'pricing error' in the contract isn't as watertight as they'd like it to be. Which it's not. It's not like they left out a zero and cancelled all the orders the next morning.
Also, the onus is on Tesla to prove it's a pricing error. So if anyone with a fire-sale reservation is contacted by Tesla, ask them for proof that it was a pricing error.

Expect a text message next week asking if you want to pay full price, otherwise order will be cancelled.
Also for those returning under the 14 day rule, VRT element of price won't be refunded.
How have you been robbed of €5k?
Your car is still worth the same today. It was a "one off" sale which doesn't affect your cars value at all. If you try to buy the same car today it is the same price as you paid for it. You haven't lost any money.
If Tesla honour the fire sale (some doubts about that now, but anyway) all that will happen is that some people got a discount but you haven't been robbed or lost anything. You will get the exact same value for your car in a few years when you trade it in. No one is going to be saying there was a fire sale in Mar 2023 so your car is worth €4k less! 😉
People are taking this fire sale thing way too personally, but were happy to take the €7k+ discount they got from the Jan price reductions! 😏

Whatever about firesale orders being cancelled, I call BS on the VRT element of the 14 day return policy. this is not mentioned at all on their site. And id imagine this was in place for years
That's shocking, what did they say? Did you ask how the error happened and if the similar discounts in other countries across Europe were also an error?
So Tesla sell all those cars in minutes and nobody realised until yesterday? The Tesla journey just gets more bizarre

Woah! Thats a kicker. Are you saying the entire VRT element will be kept? What would the justification for that be? Is it because of the grant or something? And it would surely need to be in the small print somewhere.
€3k+ haircut will make alot of those thinking of returning sit up and think again if that's going to come true.
Makes sense but have to assume the inventory cars didn't match the spec anyone had on order or else they would have been assigned to those on the waiting list.
I’d say many of the people that are looking to return their cars because of this has highlighted it to Tesla.
Would VRT also apply to the demo cars?
Did you explain to them that these cars will go into Inventory, none of them will be grant eligible and they'll have to discount them in the future again?

I agree, the tow hitch was on every firesale order right? I dont think if its factory installed that it can go to someone who wanted all the same spec bar the hitch.
