Was my first beer festival, and the weekend was a scorcher. Had non-beer friends come for it too and they all had a ball.

Got an email from their PR person yesterday. Here's all the information, with their own spellings:
"Hi,
We are wondering if it would be possible for you to post about our annual easter beer festival which will be taking place next weekend? Some things to note are:
The event is completely free to attend and takes place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of April from 1pm.
13 Irish breweries will be attending with 3 or more beers, including the new brewery which launched last summer, located on site at the Francican Well , Original 7 Beverage Co.
Pompeii Pizza will be serving stonebaked pizzas in our beer garden."
Stone baked pizza? You would think there PR person would know they make wood fired pizza. Love wood fired pizza, stone baked can be a bit meh

What's the going rate for a bottle of 200 Fathoms? I see from craftcentral it's 3 for €43 delivered(€14+ per bottle). It's a big price when there's plenty of other barrel aged imperials for half that.
Also noticed there's a place up North who've broken the moratorium and have the bottles out on the shelf already...

Not the moratorium! They were serving 2022 Two Hundred Fathoms at Against the Grain on 16th November last. I don't think they've quite twigged that having a "day" for the beer means that the day should be in the same year as the vintage being released. The whole thing is cute, but hard to take as seriously as they're trying to present it.
So it's almost released? Been hearing about a problem with the bottling equipment for close to six months at this stage. 🤣

Chalk it down after my previous posts disparaging the price differential between Craft Central and others, principally Bradley's.
€13.50 in Molloy's, limit of 2 per customer (in Clonsilla anyway, but presumably all branches). Looked like they had three boxes there, including the open one I got mine from.
Asked for three, but they only let me have two.
How is it?
Dangerously easy to drink!
It's really good, as usual. Dark, and rich. Not too sweet. Barrel isn't too over powering, as can sometimes happen with barrel aged stouts. I really want to open the second bottle, but have to work early tomorrow!
I find it's a bit overpriced, but fine for a special like this.
The Dirtgrain BA Stout doesn't seem so expensive, now!
