Nice one...so two confirmations that the discounted cars are not going to be cancelled (albeit from same advisor).

That person on the Facebook group must be on a windup 😕

Lads... I just got the call

Tesla have offered me a free Model 3 and unlimited charging to compliment fire sale Model Y I got.

We are doing April fools early right...?

(If this whole thing was a wind up its a fair **** thing to do to Tesla support and the lads in Tesla Dublin, they will be non stop all day. The other half said the FB group is hopping over it)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭max4ever

    few notes

1- The sale was done over 2 days, if it is a mistake why the wouldnt remove it after the 1st day?

2- this is excess stock from UK which still have the same sale now on their website .. so not even end of quarter discount as some suggested

3- they already offered discounts on LR/P models here early this month for similar amounts and it was not pricing error 🤣🤣

Buying a Tesla? -> Get €500 off your Tesla Model 3 or Model Y using my referral link -> https://www.tesla.com/referral/mohamed23185 😉

The same exact sale is still going in the UK with the 'Showroom Adjustment' we had the other night:

Unless this was meant to be UK only and snuck into Ireland also. Bit strange.

Any one gotten a call yet? Seems no one has.

The fact the adjustment to price is ongoing in the uk means it’s possible to do here. IF and I’m not saying it is but if it’s an error they now face a bigger problem. 20k worth of deposits to refund and sort out plus many cancelled original orders to now sort out and then on top of that all those 80 cars to be back on sale at the original price which could end up doing the same thing they were doing in the uk…. Collecting dust in a Tesla car park

The person on Facebook who first reported there was collecting a new M3P this morning only because, "...they were told by the sales manager of the pricing error. Otherwise they would have cancelled the collection and waited a month to saved over 10k".

So another potential scenario to add to the plot, is that someone in Tesla told a fib in order to get one more MYP sale out the door in Q1, not realising the fib would go viral.

lads and ladies I reckon its true, just on the phone with @Forerunner who was in with Cian in the cork store. Confirmed the F** up.

No car being returned by me then, being honest its a relief want to get using the car I have outside the door and I love it. Feel for people who cancelled order.

They would really want to be offering supercharging points or something

Have been on to chat about cancelling my first order but they have advised me not to cancel as they are getting word that there is an error in the pricing adjustment that was applied so seems it is legit.

yep people in contact centre are just not aware, people on the ground in Tesla Ireland seem to know :(

lets see when the call comes!

A bit of a s##t show no doubt and while I will be annoyed to have lost the great deal if it didn't happen I would have been happy with the original order.

For those who have cancelled I wonder what will happen there?

if the price adjustment is cancelled the grant will be gone on the LR's

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,748 ✭✭✭THE ALM

for those with extra addons , LR's still come under grant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,136 ✭✭✭✭josip

all the LRs in the fire sale had grant-busting add-ons as far as I know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Foreign Sports

Yes they did. Cheapest was just over 60k.

This is the issue with a call centre type interaction. You never have full confidence in the information being given to you. It’s the person in the showroom you need to talk to. Which is absolutely and utterly impossible with tesla Dublin at the min as you end up routed to a tesla support centre type setup. Or at leas to have the 2 times I rang the Dublin number.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 126 ✭✭Forerunner

Indeed lads, I was at the Tesla store in Cork Douglas Shopping Centre and the moment I mentioned fire, he started shaking his head and said it was human / system error and will be cancelled.

He said the only thing eh can do is to apologise and that’s it. I said what about the people who cancelled their orders after this discount happened and he goes it’s the consumers decision… bonkers at its best…

    A tow bar (€1,350) puts a €58,890 LR over the €60k grant threshold I thought ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Foreign Sports

Yes exactly so if that car comes back on site at another stage, it won't qualify for the grant and will sit there unless they discount it to bring it back under 60k

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,134 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

They don't know what's going on - I was cancelling my M3 as I got a MY instead but not at the fire sale price (was 47,811) and they told me to wait a week in case....

We will be out that way today too and will ask.

Want to confirm if the car will be taken from us or if we can pay the difference and still get it this month.

Issue is the tow bar pushes it above the grant which we don't want.

Spare a thought for the staff who have to deal with these shenanigans from Tesla HQ.

I've found the Irish staff I've dealt with so far to be really decent and professional, without exception. They have a difficult time dealing with these f*ckups through little or no fault of their own and they must be as frustrated with this crap as we are. I try to remember this in any interactions I have and I'd kindly ask we all try to do the same. We've all been in situations before where we try to do our best in difficult circumstances.

    *Sermon over 😁

Be some craic if they were just doing this to stop people who have cars from returning. Stall 14 days - honour all orders!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,748 ✭✭✭THE ALM

Afolabi must be the only one in work today 🤣

Surely the standard price MY will still be fine to continue with?
