Tbh that does read like a joke from Skoda and doesn’t change my view of Tesla operationally. Bad service by one company doesn’t make it ok for a competitor.
Id love to get one of Tesla’s cars because they’re great but my experience in last two months
Car ordered with delivery date Feb/March
No VIN
Late March Told by one Tesla employee that 100% of VINs had been assigned and I’d missed out. Unlikely to be another ship until September. On the very same day a different Tesla employee in store looked up my RN and said since my EDD hadn’t been pushed I was almost certain to get a VIN for collection in March as only 75% of VINs were allocated at this stage.
Week later, EDD changed to vague September date
Week later, text to say should still get in April.
Fire sale discount. Still No VIN on initial order
Two orders currently, both showing amounts payable as completely wrong. One too high, one too low. Text from Tesla to say ignore the price the app is showing and use the order agreement price.
Now - possibility my secondary order will not be honoured after cancelling initial order so maybe won’t have any car.
So from having been initially told I’d have a car in Feb. We may now be starting from scratch in April. I’ve sold my wife’s car privately, paid for a charger which may be of no use and am likely to be scrambling around to try find something suitable before our baby arrives in the next couple of weeks. None of this is any of my doing.
So, yes, I feel completely and utterly comfortable saying that the service offered by Tesla is a complete shambles. This is not a reflection on their cars and I would still love one*.
Sounds like you tried to buy a car that someone else already bought and the site had not caught up.
If your example was true, then nobody else would have been able to buy the discounted cars.
I know yeah, but he specifically says ".. the vehicle you tried to order, was incorrectly priced. Hence why your order could not be processed". I went straight from clicking "buy" to inputting card details, but I appreciate it's still possible someone else was doing the exact same thing at the same time on the same car.
I have gone back to question whether it was actually a pricing error, or a sale, and no response yet.

With Tesla orders, you don’t “add to basket” though. You click “buy now”. And if that click cycles back to the main page, it means the car is gone.
I had a MY LR in my basket on Tuesday evening at €49,872 - but it would not process payment of deposit. When I contacted Tesla email address in UK, they told me that the price reductions were an error - see attached email.

Tesla have confirmed to 2 people that their orders are processing as normal.

My apologies then, it all sounded so fantastical to be true. This will be a serious headache for the Tesla staff to sort out.
I can only tell you what was told to me in sandyford this morning.
The problem may well be that every car delivered in Ireland this quarter was in the last 14 days and every one of them is entitled to return their car for a full refund with a view to buying the same car at a cheaper price!
It’s after 11am and no reports of any calls I’m assuming this was a poorly timed April Fool’s joke.
Considering all the drama over the fire sale it’s also in bad taste IMO. Tomorrow would have been fine since everyone would ignore it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. All the price drops from earlier this week will be cancelled. Just had it confirmed by management here in Sandyford.
She will be calling all 80 people directly today
From my experience, reversing is more accurate due to the camera position, but driving into a parking space front first, let's put it this way, the approx. distance is very conservative!! I think this is intentional for its first iteration, I usually get a pretty large gap and can drive a little beyond the "Stop" alert. Hope this will improve over time. On the plus side, Tesla vision is better at detecting curbs, including low curbs where USS didn't seem to pick up in the past. In any case, glad to have some form of parking assist as opposed to nothing at all prior to this update.
BTW don't get your hopes up - the parking assist pseudo USS function thingy clearly need some serious work yet

Its going to be a hit/miss feature I'd say, even when they improve it. Some rain/dirt on the cameras and it disables itself. Thats not much use to you when its pouring down and you have to get out to clean the camera. USS works in the rain. This camera based system is going to be a sunny day only feature from what I can see.
It also further enforces my doubts about FSD being delivered as described by Elon. It will work in certain circumstances but once you get bad weather, poor markings and narrow roads like ours you'd have to wonder will it ever actually work in the real world. Fine to say it works on US highways but its another thing entirely to tell it to drive the Ring of Kerry! I'd say it would be constantly shi**ing itself! 🤣

I switched to Advanced and got the Park Assist update within a few hours. Might have been a coincidence, though.
I updated to that one at the weekend and got the latest update last night so I'd say you'll be soon.

Yes connected to WiFi when parked at house. Will try advanced and see if that works
Switch setting to Advanced and it will usually result in quicker access to updates .see below
Just let it do its thing. It will be pushed to your car when it’s ready.
They push updates out in batches to ensure bugs don’t crash every car if there present in updates.

I collected a model Y earlier this week. I updated my software yesterday to 2023.2.12 after the car prompted me to do so. Screen now says my software is up to date but I know there are newer releases since this. Is there a way to force car to look for software updates? I have ticked the standard for software updates and I see an advanced option aswel. Should I be using advanced?
AliExpress ones are grand and cheap, just take ages to arrive. Handy to keep one in the car, just in case
Mostly the same I reckon. Ordered the cheapest set with orange rubber ring from Amazon few days ago - £12 I think, albeit delivery now not until end April so may cancel and reorder another set.
The Facebook page has me wondering if there's something else I need. Has anyone gotten jack pucks and did you get them from Amazon or Ali Express? Are they all the same? There's a big price differential between some of them.
