@Alfagtamini managed to sell a recently bought MYLR to a boardsie, but also initially contacted Tesla about returning it. Might have some insight for you.
Yes.
Thanks Gumbo. Wild night.
Having originally ordered a Blue/Black RWD in October and then a White/Black LR on Jan 13, we've now somehow ended up with an order for a Blue/White LR 😀
I can beat that!
I've had 4 orders now in total 😉;
1.) Model Y RWD blue/black in Oct 22 (cancelled in Jan)
2.) Model 3 LR white/black in Jan after reductions
3.) Model Y LR white/black in Feb (hedging my bets to see which would come first).
Then I spent half of today musing about potentially going for one of the Y RWD in the inventory as the LRs were all above the grant.
Then boom 💥 10pm comes and all hell breaks loose 😂
4.) Model Y LR white/white with inductions for 2k less than order 3 above.
How do we keep track of all this on the spreadsheet 🤣🤯
Same boat, all looks reasonably straight forward though. 14 days to cancel followed by 14 days to get car back. Just watch your mileage as it’s .55c per km driven.
looks like you need to send a letter to below address but surely there’s an email
go to page 4 of the pdf

Thanks for that. Seems like a fairly straightforward process to cancel. The fine print has some weasel words around having had the opportunity to test drive and that is part of the sale process but once you cancel within 14 days of delivery it should be fine.
So what’s the latest thinking on chargers and installers for model y owners? Need to get myself sorted now.
Didn’t see that. Just read that last paragraph, I think you are safe enough. For me I tested the LR which was all that is available so don’t think I can be caught there.
I’ll be taking the spare car to work in morning. just until I figure all of this out
So, theoretically you could cancel and return your 1 week old MY, and get a refund or €47811 less about €200 for the mileage over 100km, and buy one in the fire sale, but surely they would want payment immediately for the new one to secure it and who knows how long you will have to wait for them to process your refund. ( Could be months). Maybe you have another 45k sitting in the bank for just such an emergency...🤔😉
I think you should just enjoy the car, and be glad for the one's that secured a bargain. You already got 6k off in January.
been waiting on a LR since Jan .. and the one night I didnt bother looking at inventory
@unkel is gonna be pissed he missed that sale
I am struggling to control the car from app while not in car. Every time I open it I am getting the circular trying to connect icon per attached but it doesn’t connect while not in car. Anyone know how to overcome this?
Are these flash sales something new with Tesla or is this a common occurrence towards the end of a quarter? I'm completely new to Teslas ways so wondering if it's likely to be repeated in June? LFP battery prices are on the decline, maybe more price drops for the RWD.
Quick question - is there any place to rent a model 3 or Y in ireland for a week.
I'd like to do an proper test drive but heading to Sandyford and out for spin isn't long enough as I'd like herself to do her commute to and from the office two days. I reckon it would need a few days in advance to get her up to speed on the car before that plus it would be good to do a road trip also and some high speed charging.
Thanks

UFO Drive in Dublin but it’s €186 per day for a LR M Y. Ouch
They’ve happened before. Towards Quater ends. But we’ve had a few in quick succession now which is new.
Thanks for the UFO info.
A week works out at around 100 per day. The basic insurance is 15 per day but we could swicth over the daily policy. Might look at it for 4/5 days if she juggles days in the office from mid week to start or end.
I may have a MY RWD White w/Black for sale, collected last Friday, 256km, if Tesla won’t cancel my order. Car is perfect, cancelling only because I managed to snap one yesterday with Inductions as I always wanted but could not change the order. If anyone is interested should PM me. Thanks.
You can return it under distance selling rules, and only pay about €86 for the mileage on it.
I know it's obviously entirely subjective but what do people think of the Deep Blue colour. There's a few in the inventory and if there's another flash sale I'm trying to figure out if it's a runner
It's a nice colour when new, clean and pops if the weather is bright and sunny. It also hides dirt well. It will be easy to resell, who doesn't like blue?
Had a black one ordered since January but saw a deep blue a few weeks ago on the motorway and knew I’d always want that. Previously thought MSM was my favourite colour but now 100% sure it’s Blue, although no doubt harder to keep at its best.
I was one of the first into inventory after drops last night and went straight to blue without hesitation, even though only 19’ -alloys available. Scrolled straight past the black one with induction for same price.
For me it’s worth factoring in that Black & White teslas will be everywhere soon. Not that it matters, but nice to be a little different!
what are the chances of inventory MY coming down in flash sale today!
so basically what you are saying is I shouldn't bother saving just under 5k? Bizzare. Maybe money is no concern for you but id rather the 5k in my pocket than teslas. Ultimately Tesla make the rules here, If I have the cop on to play them at their game then why not?
Collected Saturday 25th, No longer feel the same way about the car as it has been devalued in my eyes. I have emailed Tesla a cancellation under distance selling.
If I get another car on the sale fair enough, if I don't then I'll purchase a runaround and wait until something else turns up.
10% or over 1K a day off the perceived value of a car over 4 days is too much for me to lie down and take. This has soured my ownership experience and I will return the car and move on. Sure it is hassle but I didn't look for this or cause it.
Tesla seem in no hurry to process these cancellations. They may regard them as sold and book them in Q1 and worry about cancellations post 31st March.
already happened this morning.
Brave move but I can understand why you would. Such a cancellation could take up to 14days to be dealt with apparently, some nonsense about being approved by a supervisor in Amsterdam. Let us know how it goes. If it only costs a few hundred quid based on km’s, they could have a good few going back.
Yuup, that’s what I plan, but I wonder how long does it take them to refund the order. I don’t have 50k lying around for collection at the end of April unfortunately :(
