Hardly a dreamer at that money though, is it? I see others for sale at nearly twice the price.
Not really a dreamer as he is the one looking to spend the price. I just seen on a ae111 Facebook page a guy looking for a blacktop Levin BZR and is looking to spend 9 grand on one. They are a good car and all as I used to have one but that is crazy money. I bought mine for bangernomics money over six years ago which had Recaro's and Advan RG2 lightweight Jap alloys which were both stripped off the car as I seen someone bought my old one on the same page and they were both gone from the car.
The supply of Levins isn't out there, a lot of them were imported but most of them died here. Japanese metal is expensive now but 9k for a Levin isn't that bad these days
I gave €6,500 for a levin bzr in 2006
Nice corolla that only "needs a clutch"
Yours for a price of €8,500
I bought a glanza v last year from jdm cost me a bomb. They were going for nothing back in the day. It has 46k kilometres on it though.
If you havent got a jap motor tucked away by now you'll pay for the pleasure.
I swapped a pulsar vzr for a hornet 600 back in the day defo a big regret!
And on English plates. Everyone with an old car thinks they are going to get big money for them.
I can understand a Levin looking for 6-8000 as it is kinda a performance car but that corolla is not and never was.
Only needs a new clutch and to be VRTed,no hassle.
This made me laugh. I bought my first car in 2008, a 94 reg Corolla Xli 1.3, with the same mileage thats on that car (think it had 228k on the clock). I paid €950 at the time (different era I know).
This is car qualifies for vintage tax and insurance, but its not a "classic", its a bog standard Corolla. Its not a collectors item with those miles on the clock. I don't really understand the hype about the 1.3 engines, I know a few people that had the same car, and they all burnt a lot of oil when the mileage got high and you really had to check the oil levels on a very regular basis.
The 4efe engine is stupidly reliable. Mine is in daily use, its just gone over the 300k miles but soon to get a full and complete restoration. Can even slap a turbo on them, run it on 0.5 boost and it will be perfectly fine. They are a mighty little engine
How can you downgrade from a Freelander??????? They are the lowest of the low balls of scrap.
He must be in a Kia Picanto or something now.
Some of them are very nice to be fair. My father had a top spec one a few years ago and it was lovely. The one from Adverts looks awful tho.
They are fine for a couple of years when they are new but they just seem to fall to bits really fast.
Place I worked in sold one years ago and it was nothing but hardship. Diff went on it, gearbox went
on it, crank pulley, electric window motors, list went on and on. But saying that, my brother in New
Zealand has one and he loves it. But he is weird.
Ffs... a 17 yro Freelander with 310k kms on it... I wonder what kind of 'hen house' he's looking to downgrade too? 😂 hard lines
This nut job. Just because it has Red written on the side and red leather seats he thinks it's worth a premium. Not even a VVTL-i, so only 140bhp.
They are a nice car and have grown on me(that gen Celica) but even back in the day they were never worth a premium as no one really wanted them well unless you wanted a quickish car and not spend much money.
He hasn't a hope.
Its not a bad yoke, modern but still fairly retro and the last iteration of that model. Wouldn't know what it would be worth... but €7k doesn't actually seem that crazy...when you look at some of the garbage that dreamers are trying to flog for that kind of money.
7k for a 140 with red seats is madness.
i know it's low miles and very clean but really!
I don't know why but the badge on the side that just says "Red" is hilarious.
8.5k for a 1.2 litre Fiat Bravo is optimistic I would say
Trevor thinks he has a mint ep3 civic at that money. It's was a shîtbox in 2001 and it's an even bigger shîtbox in 2023.
Yeah, the Bravo was actually a nice enough car back in the day, I remember test driving one, it had a bit of Italian flair about it. The only one that would be worth anything today though is the 2.0 hgt, (which is what this lad, thinks he has), while in reality he has a tarted up 1.2 which is really worth nothing.
I remember asking on here a good few years ago what my brother's 2litre bravo sport was worth as he wanted rid of and I was thinking of throwing him a couple of 100 for it.
I was told I'd want to be paid to take it away.
Wonder how much it would fetch now?
Not €8500 anyway
It's a nice thing, not 9k nice though.
No mention of a service history or how many owners either. Two things you'd expect for that sort of money imho.
Great engine though (same engine as the 4C and Giulietta QV) - seems to be the version people look for in the 159.
Would the V6 not be the one to get. Better performance too plus Alfa's best was always in their V6 models.
I think the V6 in the 159 was a GM engine, so wasn't the proper Busso V6 like the 156. Apparently it wasn't the most powerful and was very heavy on petrol.
The 1750 relatively economical in comparison and saves 110 kg over the front wheels.
Apparently it wasn't the most powerful
The V6 is the most powerful in the 159, But it wouldn't have been popular here due to our tax rates and maybe not fuel efficient either.
