Hahahaha thanks, I don't know much about bikes but I'd imagine 1000cc BMW bike goes well! 😂
There is definitely a lot to like about the RWD, between the LFP battery, the efficiency and of course the price, it has alot going for it.
I guess the only thing would be the dreaded buyer's remorse but that doesn't seem to be a concern in this case.
On Model 3 with LFP there is hardly any slowdown at low SOC unlike with the other chemistries. So Y RWD should be the same in that respect. Basing this on the acceleration testing done by "teslabjorn".
Logged out of the app on my phone and back in and there staring me in the face is "setup phone key" can't believe I didn't try this on day one instead of all the ghouling I've been doing....
I currently have a mk 7 GTI which does 0-100 in about 6.3 / 6.5s
Its on a par then. Bear in mind that getting to 100km/h in an electric is alot easier than an ICE so I presume you have to "work harder" to get that 6.3s figure out of your GTI?... not to mind the mpg you'll be getting while doing it! 😁
Getting similar 0-100 times from the Y will be effortless and you can do it every single time without even thinking about it.
Maybe someone living in your area could give you a test drive in a RWD before you pull the trigger?
presume you have to "work harder" to get that 6.3s figure out of your GTI?
Given it's a manual and FWD, you would do well to hit those figures repeatably. But that's half the fun for that type of car.
Well a neighbour recently bought a MY Performance so it's probably best I don't drive that one first!
I need to take a test drive of RWD to be sure
Coming from a SR+ M3 (5.6s) I was a little worried that the RWD Y (6.9s) would feel slow but based on my first 50km of driving it's fine. I was driving a Fiesta last week though that was 17s 😂
Id agree with everyone else, fine up to 30km. after that really quick!
Anyone disappointed with the quality of the camera especially when checking via app?
Also would be interested if anyone has tested the parking aid in the update yet?
Ha, glad you got sorted anyway.
What county are you in? Someone might volunteer to meet you and your GTI at a nearby traffic light and "sort it out"! 😀
One advantage of the LFP battery is that it appears to maintain its' power output down to a low %. I haven't noticed any power decrease in my Model 3, though haven't been below about 12%.
However I do notice a slight power decrease if battery very cold.
Wise decision. If you want to be forever happy in your RWD, it's probably better never to test drive even the LR.
Was onto Tesla, as I was enquiring about a Model Y in Inventory. I was informed that these cars are not in-country, they are scheduled to be delivered end April-start May, therefore there will be another shipment arriving at this time.
Hahahaha I'm probably a bit long in the tooth to be 'dicing' or whatever they call it these days! 🤣
That in itself probably says more about a LR being more of a want than a need for me 😜
I can confirm I tested it down to 1% yesterday. No turtle mode or the like 👍
That's very brave, went to 5% one night and after plugging car in it them read 15% ( before charging happened)
some of them were in-country
I love the transparency from Tesla 🤦♂️
I got a model Y performance , Parking Assist came on to her last night , its good but a tad flakey rite now , I'm sure it will improve on next update ,
The performance and the speed is mind blowing coming from a R Model S90 Volvo which was no slouch at all !
Camera looks good anytime Ive checked it albeit when indicating it doesn't seem full clarity .........
The ones that were available immediately stated that they were available.
That’s transparent IMO.
All of the MY in inventory were labelled as coming soon. Not sure where you're getting this idea that some had an immediate availability label on them.
For anyone interested a full charge for me today for RWD Y is showing 420km
Last night there were some ready for collection. Evidently proved by the other poster who ordered last night.
And I seen 3 pigs flying 🤣🤣🤣
wh/km is what matters. The car will not achieve 420km.
Took delivery just over a week ago and having clocked up nearly 1,000 km on the car, I have to say that it has been a fantastic experience so far. There is lots to love about the Y including the comfort, sound system, interface, instant heat (seats, steering wheel and cabin) and the effortless one pedal driving. Superchargers are brilliant and the car is virtually silent on the motorway.
My only gripe and it is a minor one is the turning circle which is not as good as my previous car but that's about it.
Took a trip with the family to visit the relatives and they were particularly impressed with the size of the boot and the light show raised a few smiles! All in it's exceeded expectations.
Evidently they were but the website didn't list them as such, hence my comment about transparency. Are you just being argumentative for the sake of it?
No. Some stated immediate delivery. Some stated coming soon the difference between the 2 could be 5 minutes and you could have missed them.
The MY I ordered last night (which is delivering on Friday) was listed as coming soon on the site when I ordered it.
Right you are just being argumentative. I'll leave you at it so 😄
Only did a 5min test after the install this morning- the front camera detection is overly conservative at the moment (not surprised given the blind spot) when I parked up against a wall. When it indicated "Stop", there was still ample space in front of me. Reversing is pretty good and the side cameras detect kerbs pretty well. Still too early to tell but great to have a parking aid again. It'll be interesting to try it out at night and in rainy day conditions. Too early to really comment if any good but looks promising and no doubt will improve over time. For now, better than nothing for those who don't have USS.
