It also means that boardsies who couldn't give a crap about the rumour mill can easily ignore it by staying clear of the thread.

So, post your rumours about games, studios etc here. Please include a source so we know you're not just making up **** yourself for the lols. :pac:

Anyway, first up Shpeshal_Nick says he has been told of a new Marvel multiplayer game coming exclusively to PS5. He himself speculates that it's being made by Insomniac. Here's the reddit thread discussing it, which includes a YouTube link to the podcast where he says it.

Edit: A Spidey fan account tweeted a screen grab of some writer's bio which said they worked on Spidey 2, due to be released "Fall 2023". The bio was altered after the fan account tweeted. If the actual tweet has now also been deleted, it was likely fake.

I wouldn't have thought Fall 2023 was any kind of secret anyway. The original trailer said 2023, and the first game released in September, so I think most figured the release window would be Fall 2023 anyway, unless they decide they need to delay.

Jez Corden is predicting this event for January 25th and it would tie in with comments from Aaron Greenberg. From the linked article;

From what we understand, this won't be a full-blown E3-scale kind of show, and will be a more intimate look at some upcoming exclusives. As such, we've heard Starfield may even be skipping this show for a bigger marketing beat later on.

I read a post on gaming leaks Reddit about a poster on 4chan giving away the story on Kill the Justice League. Then a 2nd post with notes about development.

Most notable is that the game started as GaaS but after all the recent GaaS failures, it switched to a 'co-op story 3rd person shooter'. End game was scrapped and gameplay mechanics had to be removed/reworked. This is the reason why b we haven't seen gameplay in a while.

Could obviously be total bollox but wouldn't be surprised if true, especially after Gotham Knights was described as a GaaS game that was changed mid development.

Gotta hand it to Insomniac - given the protracted nature of modern development cycles, that they're able to turn around high-quality, extremely polished games so rapidly is an impressive feat. They're pretty much the only studio that has managed to deliver consistently great ray-tracing graphics on console too. I hope employees don't have to crunch to make it so! But even a two-year turnaround between Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine would be impressive - let alone 12-18 months - and that's allowing for multiple teams within the studio.

It’s the best one and probably the most suited to a remake(1 is short and 2 is largely basic enough environments). 3 could look look amazing with modern graphics.

Itll be interesting to see how much they change from the original, how many of the voice cast are involved and if it can retain some of its oddball Kojima influences.

My favourite game of all time. I'd be worried about a remake though. So long as its mostly just graphics and controls, fair enough. Anything more than that though is a huge risk, especially without Kojima. And I'd be fine with them re-recording the theme song, but would prefer they don't re-record the dialogue.

The ending of the story of MK11 could also allow for the next game to center around a new version of the MK1 story due to the new timeline. So maybe not a reboot as such especially since they did that with MK9 which was a reboot of MK1-3, but maybe now an even more drastic and changed timeline. Easy way to bring back old characters but also introduce new ones. Always handy for MK given how many characters they kill off.
