No that is set to "Not Allowed" on mine, check if under app permissions it has access to Nearby Devices?
Doesn't quite add up though. Maybe the LFP battery has some extra to allow for some initial degradation in the first year and then it will settle at 57kWh but there seems to be a bit more than 57kWh usable.
I went with B as they had the right orientation for left and right all the option A ones I looked at had all 4 the same so one side of the car is the wrong direction
On the Option A wheels there's a video on youtube where they found something like a 5% hit on range. I've ordered a set that look like the original covers, but in all matt black. Do like the look of Option C ones though.
Access to Nearby Devices is on alright. Should also add I always have to put the keycard itself beside the cup holder to get D to engage even after getting straight into the car. Been reading elsewhere you normally don't have to do this.
On the early Model 3's there were reports of a large buffer, well beyond the 2.5 kWh. Many users had a hack to fix the BMS as this is where the rumours of Tesla's having 50km range at 0% came from. Have a look through the M3 thread.
Admittedly, I don't have an LFP Model so i can only go on previous posts and the web.
New Tesla Model 3 RWD (LFP 60 kWh) Gets Remarkable Winter Range (insideevs.com)
Yeh that was another symptom I was seeing.
Only other thing that I did was update the software on the car a couple of hours later, when I collected on Thursday it was version 2022.x
Need to do the same this evening when I get home.
I drove yesterday Cork- muckross house - molls gap - Kenmore back to Cork via n22 - 145Wh/km with 4 adults, a toddler and full boot/truck or stuff. Temp 19C/ sentry mode on arrival. I think its pretty good.
Didn't take a pic of stats but at 50% used I drove 194km.
"Capacity of the full pack (when new): 60.5 kWh (kind of initial/theoretical value)"
"the values happens to fluctuate depending on various factors, and should be treated like a good estimate, rather than a perfect value"
Doesn't inspire confidence, does it! 😂
And that's a Model 3 article. Are we sure its the identical batteries go into 3 and Y from China?
Anyway, looks to me like it has more than they are saying (at least when new) or else it is woefully inefficient at AC charging.
It’s very possible as we all know Tesla doesn’t advertise battery capacities.
Random question, what material are the doors (side and boot) made from? I know the frunk is aluminium as well advertised.
Anyone looking for a Y, the existing inventory has just been flooded with a lot of "coming soon" vehicles. My order was updated requesting acceptance of Tesla Vision and then the delivery date was updated to April 19 - May 04.
For the first time, there are now more new MYs in inventory than M3s! 😅
Same here, although I'm not sure I want to accept it. Tesla Vision seems pretty poor.
True, I’d like to have the sensors but I’m without a car, would lose €1500 off a new car after June and I survived for years without sensors so I’m sure I’ll be grand.
A Long range?
No, his is RWD.
I prefer the look of 'A' - less fussy - more 'alloy' looking...
Mike
Still no luck after the s/w update. Going to try delete and reinstall the app and logout and login to the car next. Out of curiosity should there be a setting in the app for mobile key as I don't have one. One of the videos I looked at mentioned enabling this in the app but it may have been an older video.
Have you tried restarting your phone? I find this resolves the issue when mine is acting up.
Finally!! 😅
Picked up RWD car yesterday. Wasn’t my first Tesla so knew car had to be checked over. Had to put in a service call for numerous issues with the worst been damage to the rear bumper. Car is filthy also inside. What are the chances of getting them to provide a voucher for valeting?
Question for all who took recent delivery of Model Y RWD.
How do you find the performance overall?
Is there any disappoinment about how fast it is?
Subjective I know and it depends what you are coming from but wondering if anyone is underwhelmed with the pick up / acceleration at all?
(Trying to justify a move to a RWD Y as no sign of my LR order for now)
As you said, it is subjective based on what you are coming from.
So, what are you coming from?
The pickup will be alot better than your typical competitor crossover like Tuscon, Sportage etc. Most of those will have a 0-100km/h of 8-10secs. The Y is 6.9s so its "quick" compared to its ICE brethren. Its a tad slow off the blocks (presumably to reduce wheel spin and maintain control) but its quick after that.
Put another way, it wont leave you stranded looking for more power when overtaking!
I'm more than happy with it. Debated the LR for the extra power when the price dropped the 2nd time as I didn't really need the range based on my commute etc but in the end figured the extra €6.5k was better off in my pocket. Had all sorts of cars over the years but nothing really fast other than an Astra OPC a long time ago and a 330e that are somewhat comparable 0-60 wise. IMO there's more than enough poke in the RWD for safe overtaking and daily needs
Thanks
I currently have a mk 7 GTI which does 0-100 in about 6.3 / 6.5s.
I suppose the 30-70 or 50-100 is more important in a car like the MY RWD though.
Overtaking is presumably easy but I was wondering if there is a noticable drop off as the charge drops say below 50% or so.
Ah so the 330e is a good comparison. If it feels in a similar vein to a 330e then it should be quick enough!
In the last 6 months I went from an ICE that was low 4 seconds to 60, to the M3 that was around 6 seconds to the Y that is somewhere between 6.5 and 7 depending on the test, as you said it depends on your perspective and where you are coming from, as a family car it’s great and in my opinion is more than capable, did some motorway miles over the weekend and it held its own and overtook with ease when required. The pickup from about 30kmph is excellent. It isn’t a match for the LR or P but it’s not meant to be. Mind you there’s still room on the drive for a BMW S 1000 RR but that might be a conversation for my next wife 😂
