Not sure if it was Donal Hickey late of The Cork Examiner who wrote that her?
Media are already saying they are the parents so I took it results were back
I wonder was a court order needed for dna or dna offered freely
There was a book wrote with Joanne consent and she was sued successfully for 100k by the murder squad ,I wonder will they be giving this money back ?
It basically meant also the book had to be removed from circulation
How long do DNA results take?
OMG Joanne was sued WTF?
But there was never any evidence to suspect JH in first place and the presumption of innocence before proven guilty should have been applied.
The gardai invented evidence through coercion for JH. If the Gardai were competent JH name would have never been in the public domain and therefore no one was needed to take the rap for an unsolved murder. The gardai have to own the JH f**k up
Was that 'churching'?. Even married women had to be 'cleansed' after childbirth.
No we don't know the full story and how many people knew and who covered it up, letting the Hayes take the rap.
That's why there should be a detailed enquiry to get to the bottom of this.
What Joanne Hayes went through was disgraceful. But all the blame lies with the gardai for it. The worst thing i have ever read about the gardai in its history.
Ah to be fair, I don't know if it was the worst despite being an abhorrent and shameful tarnish on the force. You're forgetting the murder squad's framing of innocent people directly led to the revenge murder of a man, who they knew to be innocent.
You must be god knowing all this
Pass on everything you know to gardai
The only respectable people in this whole scenario are Baby John, and perhaps his mother if she was a child herself who was raped, and the mother's siblings (if any) who were too young to understand.
Baby John's father, the mother's parents, their neighbours, local business people, the schoolteachers who knew that a girl had dropped our unexpectedly, the guards etc. Vile the lot of them.
You dont know her situation. From the report that she is in her 50's now she was anywhere from 11 to 20 in 1984. If she was 16 or younger and therefore had been raped would you really hold it against her for not coming forward to tell the nation what happened.
That's interesting.
In the case that it's the father, it is possible he knows very little
Although below is from the Sunday World, which points at the mother.
The woman, identified by a familial DNA sample as the ‘probable’ mother of ‘Baby John,’ is the daughter of a deceased garda who passed away a number of years prior to the infant’s murder in 1984.
Well there you go.
I've absolutely no problem starting a rumor that Enoch Burke was seen standing outside the house.
Sure everyone in Kerry knows already that he was.
They are a couple, and have been since the crime. Maybe they arent the parents. Theres a very slim chance of them not being the parents i believe.
Broken neck and 28 stabbings and thrown away like rubbish. Then silence for almost half a century. There sir, is a crime, and a disgusting one at that. Not to mention staying silent all these years.
The murder squad concocted another story at this stage that Joanne Hayes had sex with 2 men within an hour and had twins .Jermiah locke was the father of the baby found in Abbeydorney farm and this second man was the father of the Caherciveen baby .They did everything possible to nail her .Joanne Hayes was also sucessfullu sued for slander after when she wrote about her ordeal by detective Jerry O carroll of the murder squad .You just could not make up this shlt
I am not sure was it the film or the documentary the head detective even though transferred would go to the beach any chance he could hoping to find evidence to vindicate himself
Not according to this Times report, it may be just the one.
If the match/s came from relatives then finding Familial matches to both would be a stretch.
From The Times article ;
"Using a new DNA technology called next-generation sequencing, scientists can now obtain DNA matches even if the samples are not from immediate relatives and it is believed that it was this technology that enabled FSI scientists to get a DNA match for Baby John.
This in turn led gardaí to focus their inquiries on relatives of the person who gave the voluntary match, which in turn led them to the two people they arrested, believing that one of them may be related to Baby John."
The DNA test will show if they're Baby John's parents so no point denying it, they might not have killed their own son. Until we know if they're the parents, and there's enough evidence to charge them with murder it's all just speculation.
Sweet Jebus how long did you think yes its okay to write those first 2 sentences. We know nothing yet or even if she is the mother what she knew of the murder
Would not be very smart to say that
It didn't take too long. It was the tribunal into the incompetent lying thugs garda murder squad who framed her that took time. Even now, some of those incompetent lying thugs garda murder squad still claim that she did it.
It wasn't a trial though. Ostensibly it was a tribunal to investigate the actions of the gardai involved in the case. All charges against Joanne and her family were dropped.
Did I read here that Joanna Hayes was cleared by her blood type?
How could have that have taken so long if correct
I'm not going to defend them doing what you've described above (if that's what happened) but remember that this got national attention. Hayes was put through hell by the thugs in the garda murder squad and then by the subsequent tribunal. I think Joanne held the Irish record for the longest time someone was made testify and it was various accusatory questions in terms of her relationship, her sex life, etc. This is all after having lost a baby and not having the opportunity to mourn it.
Hypothetically, would you have made the decision to come forwards?
Very true.
The couple decided to allow Joanne Hayes and her family take the full brunt of accusation while they sat in the shadows.
This went on for years.
Shame on them for that alone.
From my reading of what the media / solicitor are saying, it sounds like both parents is the expected outcome.
It can't be Enoch, he doesn't have his satchel. 😂
I had the same thought earlier.
The DNA testing was done and they've been prioritised.
