This is one of the most consistently excellent shows on television. And I know it's the UK but I'm sure the Gardai have the exact same issues to deal with here, although I imagine not as well resourced as the UK cops.
I just looked up that GoFundMe for the chap who unfortunately didn't hit the scumbags hard enough in his car, and it ended up at 175k.
Great to see how justice was served and nice long sentencing for all 4 of them as a deterrent.
Very frustrating alright for the police but they are well trained to handle them. Only read recently that the no comment interview serves two purposes:
1) The police must ask the questions even though the suspect answers no comment for the duration of the interview. This insures the suspect cannot bring up in court that they were not asked specific questions during interview.
2) It lets the suspect know just how much evidence there is against them, even though they are answering no comment they are sh** themselves inside.
Putting your hoodie over your head does not keep you out of prison, great show !!!
Imagine taking someone's life for two big ugly fake watches!
I dont think the watches were fake. there was a recorded conversation between the two women where they complained that one of the watches was over 25 years old so not worth as much as they initially thought. a figure of £350 was mentioned.
Cracking two parter.
Glad to see the twats stupid jacket partially caught him!
Brilliant show again, the work that goes into solving the crimes is unreal, it's definitely one of best programmes on TV imo.
Super 2 part show, love how all the pieces slowly join together to connect all 4 of them, me man with his 1300gb jacket, feck sake, drives me mad the money these yokes are spending on this **** with no jobs, cop even said it about the one lady it wasnt for the kids it was for her lavish spending on crap clothes, far too many of those Canada goose wearers here too getting away with it
Yer wan was fairly dedicated to the honey trap by having sex with the victim as they waited for the drugs to knock him out.
There was something very sinister about the smile on her face when she was in CCTB entering the house.
was there another episode this week? i could have sworn i had an episode set to record last night.
No, just the 2 episodes last week.
I must be imagining things. i think i need to go back to bed
Definitely.
But...and I admit it's a small but...the guy they did kill was no angel. I am pretty sure he used similar tactics himself in the past?
It's gas how he thought he was so clever covering his face, using a burner phone, cleaning the car when it was his stupid designer coat that tripped him up! He should have gone to Penneys..
Yeah he'd been so clever in so many ways yet wore his poxy 1300 quid designer coat to a robbery.
And to be caught on camera carrying the knife!
to a murder you mean :)
New episode tomorrow night 9pm (Sunday) on Channel 4.
The first episode was a bit of a let down.
I found that episode "The Siege" to be an interesting look at just what 13 years of Tory rule has done to the country of the UK.
Those men were failed by the state, the mental health system and also by the police who visited them prior to the incident itself - all as a result of tory policy, austerity and cuts to the social health area.
Both men were clearly highly mentally disturbed, and at least one of them was pleading and pleading for help before he cracked. The other man just seemed broken already.
Now, I get that their actions on the day horribly affect those people they basically terrorised, but it's my strong contention that they did not know right from wrong, and the police at the end were wrong about that.
Yes, didn't really follow the usual format of the show.
pretty much the entire case was solved once they gained access to the flat, just a review of CCTV, drone and social media to link everything up.
A few recent episodes have definitely differed from the original format.
It's probably an easier sell for the broadcasters to package something like this under the known/familiar '24HIPC' brand rather than as a standalone 'The Bedford Siege' programme.
The met on BBC is definitely worth a watch.
Agree with this. Two men who should be in a secure facility, a separate one. They are a clear danger to themselves and the public.
Errr...it was also kind of dodgy that the police officer who described the person who shot the gun/air rifle described the guy as balding....when it was the other guy who admitted doing it. If he hadn't seen he should have just said.
New episode tonight at 9pm.

That was a tough oul watch, police at least took it very seriously. As a younger gay man I would have met the odd guy online, looking back it was pretty risky at times.
Yes very hard case for the police to investigate given the app was basically a hook up tool and the desired outcome for both users was sex. I thought midway through he was going to get away with everything, it was only the big numbers who came forward that turned the case. Couldn't get over how arrogant the guy was when questioned, I suspect the true figure of victims is much more.
He was a horrible arrogant prick, a sociopath.
I agree the numbers he actually raped I would think are multiples. It's really important that rape of males is covered, hopefully it will give some men the push to report it.
My mother has a daughter a guard for 25 years, she loves this show. Keeps telling the daughter about it, saying stuff like ' you wouldn't believe what they did/ said to police ' 😂
er, think she might😁
