Sounds like SF’s efforts after the 2020 GE in the real seat of power- the Dáil. I wonder why no party wants to work with them.. I just for the life of me can’t put my finger on it… But the majority of the ROI electorate can’t be wrong.
of course they can be wrong, and they are about sf.
they are also wrong to be voting for FFG who allowed the catholic church to brutalise this country.
You keep thinking that - good lad. And throwing in Catholic Church non sequiturs to make yourself feel good.
The majority of the electorate put in the current government and we are told daily they are a wrong government.
Plus we are also told that the last 30/40/input what amount you want years of government are terrible as well.
So now we are saying that every voters was wrong but now the majority are suddenly right because SF are in the lead in opinion polls? Doesn't add up does it?
I was driving today so happened to flick around till I hit something ok, it was about 1-2 but no idea of show but on RTE Radio 1. From SF you had Louise O'Reilly and after so many good things I decided to listen. It was questionable to say the least, when asked about the advice from attorney general she just brushed it off. When asked about any sort of answers/problem solving she had zero ideas.
She spent the entire interview pushing snippets and comments which would get likes but after that was confused. Richard Boyd Barret, who I have no time for, at least had some comments that made sense, the poor lady from government, Lisa something, was at best confused but at ;east stuck to script
How can we see SF as an alternative when they have zero plan?
they do have a plan, i am sure it will be revealed when it needs to be revealed.
it will no doubt be the modernisation plan ireland needs and i look forward to reading all about it when i can.
Good luck with that…… I’ll give you a preview……’Tax the rich’.
It was mentioned on the radio today SF have objected to thousands of houses being built in Dublin, bit strange for a party always banging on about a housing crises.
McDonald herself isn't shy about objecting to housing projects on her own area.
If they have a plan why are they not sharing it?
you would have to ask them that.
Isn’t that a copy and paste answer another poster gave when asked about SF? Suddenly all the apparent ‘expertise’ on SF evaporates like a fart in the wind.
And the SF supporting poster.(who is previously very vocal and vociferous) suddenly goes quiet and can’t even make an educated guess. Gas stuff altogether…
Rinse and repeat. They have youse well trained a mhacin.
I don't know all the plans that were objected to but I understand the problem is public land being sold to private developers who in turn build houses that are definitely not affordable to most people on an average wage .Million euro houses won't solve the housing crisis it's affordable ones we need first they should be priority at this time especially on public lands .Private land can build away for who they want .
I don't think that stands up to any analysis. SF have objected to nearly every single large housing scheme inside the canals over the last 10 years. Not all of it was public land.
I think they had a problem with the size of some of the units in places which seems reasonable to me .I am open to correction on that or any objections if I can see some examples and the reasons for such objections .
Here is one example they voted against without any particular reason apart from blocking construction.
"Sinn Féin’s Housing spokesperson Eoin Ó Broin described the outcome of the vote as “disappointing, but not surprising”.
“Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, the Greens and Labour have gifted public land to a developer in exchange for unaffordable homes,” he said on social media.
"A revised scheme put forward by Glenveagh will now see all 853 properties used for State-supported homes – a tenure mix of 40pc social housing, 40pc cost rental and 20pc affordable purchase."
"Under the proposal, rents will be offered at a minimum discount of 25pc below market rate. This would result in rents of €940 per month for a studio, €1,275 for a one-bed and €1,500 for a two-bed. The affordable housing element will see one-beds priced between €204,000 and €238,000; two-beds from €227,000 to €284,000; and three-beds from €250,000 to €306,000."
Well surely they came up with some reason even if it was a pretty lame one because that plan seemed a good one and more of them needed.
SF literally only want social housing built, and only by the government (with the inherent cost inefficiencies that entails). Anyone who has higher aspirations than living in a social home (including all potential first time buyers) really need to engage their brain and realise that SF policies as demonstrated through their behaviour to date is completely at odds with those persons interests. Their comments on that scheme above proves this completely, they always have a flimsy ideological excuse to object to, sorry I mean to make observations on, ALL developments.
Glad they're being found out and mor publically exposed now, but only for those who are prepared to see it unfortunately.
Another example of hypocrisy objecting to student accommodation.
Then complaining when none is available.
"Sinn Féin publish results of student housing survey exposing ‘shocking’ crisis of severe accommodation shortages - Rose Conway-Walsh TD"
If one comment explained how ridiculous Sinn Fein as a party are this is it
"suitcases dragged over cobblestones waking up the neighbourhood, said Ní Dhálaigh."
This is a party standing up daily complaining about the lack of housing for everyone but at the same time blocking housing because suitcase noise.
F*cking ridiculous
Sinn Fein gradually being found out bit by bit.
Im afraid the chickens are coming home to roost for this party, and it’s becoming more apparent every day.
Sinn Fein been found out to be the only ones looking out for us housing is the most important thing at the moment Sinn Fein will sort out the housing and ban the evictions again.
What will they do to sort out housing?
well be looked after if we get them in more houses built social housing more facilities for the kids vote Sinn Fein
I think you have it right, the message from Sinn Fein is both as simple and as simplistic as that. The sort of thing a transition year student running for class rep might say.
As posted before on another thread don't waste your time.
I assume you are being sarcastic.
SF wont do s**t for anyone that gets out of bed to go to work in the morning.
Some people actually believe Sinn Fein will resolve the housing crisis.
I kind of hope they dont actually think that. More that they just hope it.
But either way, it wont happen.
Oh they think it, also not sure how many times I’ve benn told Eoin is the man to solve it
he wrote a book if you didn’t know 🤦♂️
What would make you reckon that's the case?
Genuinely interested as I'm not very well informed on SF aside from snippets of headlines.
