Collecting tomorrow afternoon and reg has now appeared.
I moved on from a 10 year old ICE car, and the new Tesla came in about €30 below what I was previously paying.

I wish it was tonight! I'm just trying to plan for when Tesla get their act together and actually deliver a car. It seems like the initial Feb-Mar was a fib. 🤨 Not a good way to generate trust in the brand.
Previous new cars have always been delivered on the day promised by the dealer. I'm not used to this vague maybe-possibly ballixology.

Ive never filled in that when trading to any dealer. They take “ownership” of it online.
27% IMO would get you about 90km @100km/h. But risky on a new car that hasn’t seen a full charge before and has been sitting on transport mode for a month or 2.
FBD refused to insure me due to the "high power" of the car! 😏
I called FBD yesterday and they said they would insure me on a Tesla. I didn't given them any details of model
Grant reducing by €1,500 from 30 June. Not too bad. I wonder would the 232 reg even be worth €1,500 more vs getting a 231 reg on 30th June..

Yeah it was sounding fairly positive until it got to the "let me check this with the underwriters to insure we can proceed"
What model were you trying to purchase?
Make sure they are looking at the right spec. They might only have the Performance model on their system.
Thats fair. At least they have told everyone well in advance last year and they are giving exact figures now 3 months in advance. And a €1500 drop isn't that much really. I think most of us were expecting a much bigger cut or maybe a change in eligibility.

I'm not sure the 232 would be worth 1500e more thank the 231 in a couple of years. At that stage, mileage and condition will be bigger factors.
Although some people with a touch of OCD might pay the premium for the more symmetrical 232 reg plate 😅
I've previously held out by a month for a 212 reg over 211 but it didn't cost me 1500e for the privilege...

Anyone received call from Tesla for tomorrow collection wont happen and rescheduled for Monday, even registration and finance okay ?
Well tbh I think that this puts pressure on Tesla to deliver. When I first paid a deposit ,Tesla said delivery by May at the latest. Then a "glitch" officially changed it to maybe September. And now a " review" has said June . All official communication from the seller.
If the June delivery turns out to be missed, then Tesla has two choices. Either honour the original sale price as agreed, or pass on grant reduction/ price increase, to the buyer. I know some will say it's e1500 on a 47- 60 k car, but at that price point, people expect service ( and honesty! And before you say it, I know it's the car sales business. Not exactly known for honesty).
I think for some buyers it might be enough to walk away. Look at Ford explorer announced today, and Chinese brands. All valid choices.

Grant will be honoured for existing orders up to the expiry of the offer.
How long do the SEAI usually place on the grant offer?
Good question @Gumbo . I couldn't tell you the answer offhand.
According to the SEAI it’s 4 months from date of offer, but will be less if the period passes year end, the offer will expire on December 31st

Am I right that Tesla apply for the grant on your behalf, which they won’t do until you have a VIN and have paid? So if we don’t have a VIN by end June there’s no way of getting grant offer in place and hoping car arrives within 4 months?
