Do your reset while in P. If it doesn't resolve, put in a service request.
I had my first longer distance trip today in the 3 RWD. Trip of 227km mostly motorway (90%~) at speed limit in the wet and cold (7C~). Consumption of 146Wh/km. Arrived home with 42% which worked out at 391km range based on driven km. Very happy with that considering speed and weather.
In my old EV I usually avoided motorways and it was a day long excursion essentially. Not great and would arrive home exhausted. Big difference!
Thanks. I think 🤔
It was for me, takes 2 secs to enter. More peace of mind
I setup pin to drive on day one.
Ok. Mystery solved. Seems the car was put in valet mode, where the speed is restricted to 70 mph (113kph) and pin to drive is disabled.
Now, how it got into valet mode is a whole other story, and nothing to do with being valeted. Suffice to say it wasn’t me. ( nor did I recognise the valet mode icon at the top of the screen)🙁🙁.
Valet mode being the one right above the speed limiter mode on the APP? 😆
Glad you found the problem
Just hold the 2scroll wheels and it'll restart the computer. Won't wipe any settings etc...have car in park mode.
Always the first thing to try if anything funny is happening.
Same used to happen to me at random - the worst was when I just pulled out to overtake a truck on the motorway. There was a sensor issue that they fixed fairly sharpish.
Just to reinforce the already known, was doing a lot of driving over the long weekend, wiper settings are brutal and need a software update, shocking how wet the windscreen would get before wipers kicked in.
At V2 SuC I was getting 125kW almost from the work go and stayed there until I was ready to leave
I have noticed that due to the slippery shape of the Model 3, the top of the windscreen where the camera is, is much protected and swept by the airstream especially from light droplets like fog. This may be the real reason why the automatic mode is so poor sometimes but then flawless other times.
Next time observe if the top of the screen is largely clear when this happens.
The Model 3 wipers were working well for me last December, when they made the auto dip headlights good the wipers went bad around the same time.
They are consistently inconsistent alright for owners. The sensor seems very very sensitive for any residual water from worn out blades or if there is any smearing. Ours seem to work quite well these days, just that fog or drizzle often leads the wipers not engaging if the top of the windscreen says clear for example when driving at high speeds on motorway.
I also thought the auto wipers were shockingly bad when driving in the rain at the weekend. One other thing that isn't great (at least compared to my old car) is the rear camera guide line. My previous car had lines to show the trajectory based on the wheel angle and also markers for distance to the object. Far more detailed than Tesla's solution and considering the lack of parking sensors would be welcome.
My M3 has the trajectory lines and distance too, is yours a new one without USS?
It is one without USS. Only has trajectory lines based on wheels. I'll get a pic later.
You're okay, distance is not yet on any Tesla Model Y or 3 without USS so your car won't have that until Tesla Vision is (ever) up and running
Tesla reduced inventory prices by 4k. Cheapest M3 is 33k now.
Hi Folks,
Can I ask your advice on something please. I'm not sure if I'm going to get a 221 Model 3 in the summer or wait until next year to get a 241 (I don't like the 231/232 reg). If I order a car in September and it is delivered in December do I have to take a 232 Reg or can I ask Tesla to hold it until January so I can get a 241 Reg or how does that work, sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but I honestly don't know how it works?
On a few of them alright, hopefully they do the others soon too and then the new trade in stock also comes in at a reasonable price too.
If you refuse a car when available, it goes to the next person on the list, and you’d get a (different) car in March 2024.
Tesla will not hold a car for you and register it in January. If the car is in country in Q4 2023 then it’s going to be registered, and delivered to a paying customer in Q4 2023.
in years gone by some folk collected their car on Christmas week and there was no ifs or buts, holding the car for a week to get a better looking reg….. Tesla will not facilitate this.
Tesla are very unlikely to deliver anything to Ireland in Q4 (Nov/Dec in reality) but will definitely deliver in Q1 2024.
There's a higher chance of a 2024 M3 to be on HW4 than a Q3 2023.
Same in 2020 SR+. Had it on manual most of time as autowipers were way too slow. They need a sensitivity setting like on other cars as the one size for all is currently ****. Range wise a 180km drive (Tipp to Kildare) in those conditions was on the rougher side, left with 86% and arrived with 16% due to driving rain the whole way, lights, wipers, heat, etc.
I also gained a scratch and chip the one time I had forgotten to reengage sentry mode in a public car park on the rear bumper right corner. By the way, for those of you with solid black (PBSB), do you recommend the Color N Drive kit for filling in chip (not down to metal, 1cm long x 2) and erasing some hairline scratches here and there?
If you order in September and it arrives in December you will have to take it.
But, Tesla will not have a delivery in December, it will be the new year as they know the Irish market won’t take cars in June or December due to Reg changes.
Super, thanks for all your help folks.
If you were to place a deposit and for some reason it comes early, you can always refuse or cancel and get deposit back. You can treat the deposit as a place holder if you will.
Yup…
I’ve had a order since last summer that’s been offered to me on numerous occasions, but I’ve declined each time so the order goes on ‘hold’
Digging into the settings on the car a bit now and noticed that the EQ for audio was jacked up. Every slider at the max boost which I think is +8dB? that probably didn't do wonders for the sound. I've fixed them now and made a few small adjustments.
Keep the bass at +7 😁
Not gonna happen, and I'm a bass player too 😂
I set the EQ like this based on some post from TMC forums
-1.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.5, 1.0
Sounds good to me. The person that posted it did so after using calibration software. I need to get one of those mics myself.
