Agree to disagree about Tom O Sullivan. Half a Championship team alright and I like his blooding of new players but it is the so-called experienced players who have been on the panel for some years who are not at the races mentally. Barry Dan & Donal Downs will be future stars in the team, Okunbar if he can stay injury free as well. It's Shane Murphy, M Burns, Dara Moynihan, Tony Brosnan I worry about. Diarmuid ' Connor must show leadership in midfield this year after some years on the panel now.
Or worse
Shane Walsh is a bit like David Clifford, virtually unmarketable by a single player especially a day he is on fire. Last year we only had one really experienced CB this year Graham O Sullivan is an option as well. Last year as he had only started there during championship it might have been a risk putting him on Walsh
I have serious doubts about Shane Murphy. I think opting for him instead of Fitzgibbon was a mistake. I think we should be looking for a new reserve Goalie. I would not expect no e of Burns, Moyinhan, Brosnan or Murphy to start championship or a few more either.
Fitzgibbon better option than Murphy for sure.
Tough afternoon for the hurlers so far in Newbridge, as they trail 0-14 to 0-6 at the break - Kildare have been improving in recent years, thanks to Naas, but the margin is somewhat of a shock. Good win for the camogie team, however, who move closer to promotion to the top-flight.
Very sad news coming out from Kerry this evening, presume its not in the public domain yet
Hi
Could you PM me the news, thanks
Its public knowledge now
That's very sad.
Wasn't he Limerick manager when they ran Kerry very close in the Munster final in 2004.
Rip John , a great character of the game sometimes controversial but always entertaining
His work with several weaker counties with little to work with will be his real legacy in the game
RIP Liam Kearns. A truly great loss to the GAA. A great manager. And great fun.
Liam Kearns gave so much to so many over the last number decades and was a true gent RIP
Tipp manager in 2018 when they beat galway and reached the all ireland semi final two huge achievements , a great kerry man won a club championship with the rockies and played minor and a brilliant character
2016
yep sorry 2016
RiP Liam pity he didn't get the Kerry gig at some stage would have had more experience at intercounty level than Peter keane should have been in the running than condolences to the family.
RIP Liam Kearns. Shocking news.
Very sad news R I P liam thoughts with his family .
RIP Liam, that Limerick team he built in the early 2000's was a serious outfit.. prob the 2nd or 3rd best team in the country at the time
found it very odd that neither Liam or John Evans got a go at the kerry senior job...
anyone know where he was living? Im guessing Limerick going by the teams he managed
I've a spare ticket for Saturday if anyone wants it. Pm email or WhatsApp and I'll send it on
Clonlara he was living in, yes
Not sure Okunbor will be up to inter county standard. Too injury prone. Disappointing as I was hoping for big things from him.
I wonder will Kerry or Galway go at it full tilt on Sunday or will it be a cagey affair both sides have probably done enough to stay up and do they really want to play in a final, Mayo are differently going out to win silver ware and if they don't win it would be a fair kick up the arse. Kerry and Galway wouldn't be too bothered as they have moved on to better things, Galway still fancy themselves as real contenders and rightly so in my opinion, heading up Sunday anyway hoping for a nice day in salt Hill.
Joyce commented before last week's match that teams that win Sam tend to win a league before hand. As well Galway have us at home. However I think Jack will go for it as well. We have a fairly long break so any extra game is valuable
Kerry going with a weakened team against Galway. Graham O'Sullivan on the bench. Rurai Murphy starts at half forward instead of Dara Moyinhan and Shane Murphy instead of Shane Ryan. Dylan Casey getting a chance to prove if he can handle a big game

Still playing Paul Murphy at this stage is a worry, he simply cannot defend!! Shane Murphy in goal is baffling to say the least as he not up to it at this level. Jack Barry needs to up his game as he has been poor so far this year and has no end product to his game. D Casey hopefully will take his chance. I worry about Paudie Clifford as when a tagger is put on him he is ineffective. Happy with Barry Dan & Donal Down being selected, two players I think who have a bright future. Tony Brosnan needs to have a big game as he needs to cement his place after over 3 years on the panel. At best we are still only at best 60% of the team we were last year for some reason or other and tomorrow is a must win game.
Beaglaoich will come in for Murphy once he’s available which he will be for the start of the championship.
The other option is to push Graham O'Sullivan out there if Dylan Casey is good enough to manage corner back. On that where is Dan O Donoghue gone
Graham o Sullivan would be ideal in that position I think. Has a great eye for a pass as well. Hopefully Casey can manage corner back.
Graham has really come on in tïhe last twelve months. Has jumped ahead of a lot of lads on the starting team. really impressive this league campaign
